### "Great Overall- could use minor user friendly changes"

Sometimes the technicians are not super knowledgeable when calling lightspeed. I have been told incorrect information on multiple occasions. The wait times when starting a case are also getting outrageous. Every time I am on hold for at least an hour.

Pros

I like how integrative the system as a whole is, and all the checks and balances in place. I also like that it is relatively easy to use and that service connect can answer most questions

Cons

There are random fields that are not available to put in a report. There are also fields that would be better if we had the ability to change in order to be relevant/ useful to our business. The lack of integration between rental and accounting is not sufficient. It would be nice to be able to include fields from different report types together in one report.

### "Workhorse But Expensive with Many Gaps"

It has saved us an enormous amount of time and helped us to clean up a lot of financial vagaries. Hard to set up though.

Pros

The amount of labor this product saves us and CRM and ERP features is huge.

Cons

Doesn't integrate with non-lightspeed IP Phones. Has many failures for smaller business versus bigger businesses.

Reason for choosing Lightspeed

It was easier than a custom solution and less immediately expensive and frankly everything that wasn't custom was either a worse user experience or didn't seem to work for us.

can other credit card companies other than worldpay be used with CDK Lightspeed EVO?

Pros

I feel this software is tailored more for larger companies than ours. Companies where there are individuals that only do one job, ie; accts payable, receivables, payroll etc.

Cons

It would be useful to be able to switch from one store to another, without needing to log out and log in to the other company. Such as have a permission for that.

Getting information from lightspeed, everyday we put in so much information but no way to extract it to make quick decisions that affect the business. I like that we are the customers of lightspeed and can petition for changes to include new features and things based on our needs. Wish you could put in suggestions directly into lightspeed and click send. And then they look it over and bring it back to R&D on their end.

Pros

The reporting feature is easy to use. I like that there are many premade reports generated from lightspeed. It is also functional with the bar code scanner for inventory counting.

Cons

I wish we could upload pictures of parts for quick reference. And that pictures are slow to load on work orders.

### "Lightspeed at a RV Dealership"

The reports feature is quite unique because Lightspeed makes it really easy to design reports that any Manager wants to be able to pull along with the many stock reports in the report library. The phone app allows the Sales Consultants to scan the customers drivers license to start a deal. This really speeds up the process. The Service Advisors are also able to take pics on their app when checking in customers and save those pics to the RO. This really improves productivity in all departments.

Pros

The platform that Lightspeed uses is really a friendly platform. It is simple to use and has some great features for the Sales Consultant, Service Advisors and the Managers in those departments. The drill down feature is awesome as well.

Cons

When we were to go live Covid hit the country and we had to do it via computer and phone. That really slowed us down when it came to learning the software. I would say if we could have had a live implementation it would have gone much smoother!

This platform is just really user friendly

Pros

We liked the detail, but found the product extremely difficult to use, very rigid and not user friendly at all.

Cons

We had difficulty with the rigidity of the system, and had difficulty with getting answers to questions in a timely manner when we called. Sometimes it would be days before a return call, difficult to remember the question at that point.

### "Better than the other software "

Lightspeed Evo has been used in my dealership for 3 years. We had been an NXT user for 25 years before that. We had briefly switched to DX1 product for 6 months and it could not function for a dealership of our size so we went back to lightspeed.

Pros

The integration of the different department operations and functionality are better than the competition. We have the cloud solution and it works seamlessly.

Cons

Glitches very slow to get fixed. Support is slow to respond. I have found several operational difficulties and submitted requests to have them improved and none have been addressed. Monthly maintenance cost is outrageous.

Reason for choosing Lightspeed

The most efficient DMS is vital to supporting daily operations at the dealership. We could not chance trying something to see if it would work.

we have been very frustrated with lightspeed over our 26 years of doing business with them

Pros

it is a necessary part of our business that I wish there was a competitive alternative for.

Cons

the process to train existing dealers about best practices, new features etc is very , very weak. quick access to support and follow up from support is weak. this is a very expensive on going cost for us and LS has been underachieving in training and support for as long as we have been a customer.

### "Too many fees!!!"

Pros

Commutating with manufactures, Point of sale

Cons

TOO MANY FEES!!!! For every little function you have to have a fee. To put this in perspective it would like going to a gas station and getting a nozzle fee, a hose fee, a fee to pull in the station, a self pumping fee, a fee to watch the meter, and so on. This may sound stupid but this is what Lightspeed does.

Its a love/hate relationship.

Pros

I like the customization and abilities of the software.

Cons

It doesn't work well when departments collaborate. Sales/Service don't work well enough together from a billing/margin/workflow side of things. It's not web based, so working remotely in lightspeed is challenging. In sales, we don't quote out of lightspeed due to how time consuming it is, so we actually quote boats out of another software to get the sale, and then spend the 30minutes in LS to write up the final PA.

If we could find another software that would like with the manufacturer that we deal with, we would consider switching in a minute. I find the capabilites of this software are very limited and generic and there is not alot of customizing that can be done to make the software better suit your needs.

Pros

Not much. It may be easy to use but this doesn't come close to outweighing the negatives.

Cons

Tech support staff have little trained knowledge. They repeat over and over the same thing and can only offer same "box" type answers. When we ask questions about system created reports we get the same answer, like they are reading a script, but can not assist or tell you where the numbers the the system standard reports are coming from. Very very frustrated dealing with tech support.

It's a good product. Pricey, but it definitely gets the job done and it's better then any other software out there.

Pros

I like how easy it is to prep the deal, print documents.

Cons

I don't like the menu sell functionality. I don't like how parts and accessories have to be tied to the vin. Same thing with labor. It makes it extra work if a customer backs out of an accessory.

I am the parts mananger and sell parts over via parts invoices and also through repair orders. I find that Lightspeed has everything that I need to get the job done. Any time I have a question and someone around me does not know the Lightspeed support line has been very friendly and knowledgeable in getting the info I need to bring me up to speed. Thank you!

Pros

Very user friendly in regards to reports that can be drawn up to gather sales data for inventory purposes and also to track sales per individual part.

Cons

Have not used the system and found anything that I dislike as of yet.

I have personally been a user since 2004 - You've come a long way, the customer service has improved by leaps and bounds.

Pros

Most important to us is that it actually works - our entire business stops when Lightspeed goes down.

Cons

Its glitchy. Parts inventory especially for me is an issue. LS will show 4 of something on order when it's not. It will show -2 in inventory when we have zero.... things like that interfere with the ordering process and allow us to run out of things because we think they've already been ordered.

### "Not the best, but does the job."

LightSpeed support is very unresponsive. I have a request for support that is still unanswered after I tried scheduling a time to discuss the issue. However the software is very good in flows of operations.

Pros

It works really well for dealership operations.

Cons

It is not a good G/L accounting software for back office staff. The ability to drill into transactions from lists is very limiting. Reconciliations of subledgers to G/L are not accurate.

parts ordering works good for me cashering is good

Cons

reports don't work properly cust service quick to close cases long ordeal to deal with parts from suppliers that have no inventory and have to buy from another one payment integration does not do tap - very important due to current events ! difficulty with multiple suppliers for a part

It is not really clear how programming chooses the changes/improvements they focus on it would be really nice to have a weighted system that would allow some much needed improvements to move ahead

Cost. I didn't purchase Lightspeed first because of the cost.

Lightspeed was the third product we purchased trying to save money, but it cost more in the long run to purchase others and them not work out. Lightspeed should have been our first choice but I was too cheap.

Pros

It is easier for non-accounting people to use. The session feature so they can see your screen is definitely a plus.

Cons

Difficult to reach support for any problem whether it's service or parts or accounting. And they don't offer the payroll option in Canada. And you have to pick a department when you call for support. So while you think you need service help it turns out it's parts or accounting and you start the on-hold process all over again.

overall a good product. they still have some bugs, but are working to fix them.

Pros

They provide good training modules. Almost anyone who is computer literate can complete the training and be able to navigate this product

Cons

there are no features for easily changing a customer work order into an internal/sales pay work order without rewriting the complete work order and moving parts and labor manually

Because the system is so complex and having many different ways to do things it is difficult to learn and train new people. Once we figure it out it is good.

Pros

Ability to cross over in all facets of the business.

Cons

The inability to use scan gun in any other functions than parts invoice. It is extremely labor intensive to make labels for the sales floor and to be able to scan in product to receive things.

Pros

The ease and efficiency of the Get Help button is amazing! You don't even have to pick up the phone. You can start a chat with a real person and get real answers quickly to just about any problem you're having.

Cons

There are a few bugs here and there but that is the case with every program.
