May 13, 2021 4.0 As an internet based implementation, my institution has saved a substantial amount of money by having the server managed by the manufacturer. Above all, internet brought the services at the door steps of patrons Pros Ever since we implemented Auto Librarian, additional modules and upgrades are automatically available in our community library's system, removing the need for physical maintenance. With Auto Librarian's capability to circulate e-resources, we are able to disseminate a single file to many patrons simultaneously. As Auto Librarian users, file incompatibility is no longer an issue. Auto Librarian has links to relevant readers such as Microsoft and adobe acrobat readers. I have customised the Event Calendar features to work as my library's marketing and promotional tool. Through this feature, I inform my patrons about the goings on of the library such as book fairs, opening time and other important events. Internet Research feature helps our library to meet the diverse information needs of the community. Links to various websites and search engines are available for both library staff and patrons' use. Cons Reliance on internet connectivity leads to system downtime when internet is off. I wish Auto Librarian is capable of enabling us to perform basic services such as check in, check out and reservation while offline. Reason for choosing Auto Librarian We won't need to replace Auto Librarian to meet the changing needs of society. The manufacturer does this job on our behalf, without extra cost. Librarian/Media Specialist Libraries Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Auto Librarian Cloud Ease of Use" February 12, 2020 5.0 I am beyond impressed by the almost immediate feedback and assistance when I contact Technical Support. An example of this is when I asked if there was a Hold feature on our library software that could be used so I could keep track of popular books and who wanted to read it next. Within a short period of time I received a reply asking for more specific information regarding how it would be used. They then configured my system so that this feature could be added. It works perfectly and has been a game changer. This happens each time I contact them with a question. The response time is very short and they work to clarify the problem and resolve it with specific directions. Pros I love how easy this is to use and the fact that both students and staff can access their library accounts and keep track of what books they have out and what we have in the library. The product is continually upgraded to make it easy to use. Technical support is very responsive and works to ensure that the product meets all of our needs. Cons So far this product meets all of our needs so I don't have a specific concern. Librarian Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Auto Librarian Cloud" April 13, 2020 4.0 I like that I am able to access Auto Librarian from anywhere. I manage three elementary schools and need to switch back and forth often. The tech support is very helpful and replies quickly with solutions. They are knowledgeable in the world of library circulation programs and have a product that is efficient and reasonably priced. Pros Auto Librarian is very easy to set up and use. It is a very basic library management system that does what it needs to do in our small libraries. Cons Because we allow our students the ability to search for materials using this product, I would like to see some kid-friendly icons or images that would make it easier for younger students to be able to conduct their search. Librarian Libraries Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Excellent Customer Support" September 15, 2020 4.0 Pros AutoLibrarian is relatively intuitive to learn and use, especially with the excellent help from its creators. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] have always responded promptly to any query for assistance, and their directions are clear and concise. The cost is very reasonable for the quality of the program and tech support you receive. Just as an example, after asking if a particular report feature existed--the ability to identify checkouts by call number, like all the DVDs or children's books that have been checked out between a certain date--the creators considered the request and actually created the code that would allow such a report to be made. If that isn't awesome support, I don't know what is! Cons Our library is in a remote area and sometimes the internet does not work, so we are not always able to use AutoLibrarian Cloud. In previous years, when records were updated annually and manually, we always had access to the program on our computer's hard-drive, but honestly, the convenience of the Cloud version outweighs the occasional interruption caused by internet down time (which, of course, is not caused by AutoLibrarian). Library Media Tech Education Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "ON THE CLOUD" June 14, 2021 4.0 Overall pleasantly pleased with the functionality and performance of AutoLibrarian cloud version. Support staff is excellent, response time is great. Pros I really like that I can access my database from anywhere, especially helpful during this pandemic. The cloud feature allowed me to work from home, performing most every function I needed. Cons Fines and receipts. I have not yet figured out how to generate fines, pay fines and print receipts. I also wish you could search a last name at checkout, rather than go to the borrower function and locate the id number. Review Source Response from MC2 SYSTEMS June 15, 2021 In the Check In Menu when a Material is checked out there is an area where a fine is generated which can be cancelled, paid for and a receipt printed out which is detailed in the Help file. Just an oversight of the reviewer. At Check Out there is a search capability in Borrowers with a dedicated icon that brings the searched borrower number back to the Check Out screen seamlessly. This is outlined in the Check Out Help. Again, just an oversight of the reviewer. JW Julie W. Whenever I have had a question, comment, or request it is answered almost immediately and very helpful. This is very important to me and my expectations have been met. Pros The ease of student check in and check out of materials. Cons Some of the fields from the previous version of Auto Librarian are no longer available. May 3, 2020 5.0 I would highly recommend Auto Librarian Cloud to any church library that is looking for a program that is easy to use and implement. Pros Our church has been using Auto Librarian software for many years, and it has worked very well in our church library. This upgrade to the cloud version has been very nice. This allows admins and users to utilize the church library remotely from the convenience of their own homes. This cloud version has made it easier to remain current and up-to-date in the library because of the ability to access it remotely. I really like the program, and it is easy to use. Cons Overall no complaints or issues with Auto Librarian Cloud. The only difficulty we had was getting the labels to print the way we wanted and interfacing the printer with the program. If I ever have any questions or requests, they are very quick to respond and help me. Cons The few things I did not like at first have now been taken care of and now I'm very pleased. Reason for choosing Auto Librarian We already used Auto Librarian and the switch to Auto Librarian Cloud was seamless. The price was great and they handled all the updates for us. They truly listen and want to help! Pros Auto Librarian Cloud is great! Each time I have contacted ALC, I have received prompt responses and great support. I most appreciate being able to look at overdue books according to each class of students. As each of my classes comes to the library it is helpful to be able to tell the kids who still has books out. I also enjoy, as I am looking up a book in the system, the way that it allows you to click on a Google Books link to get more information about it. Cons One thing that I would find helpful would be to be able to renew a book, rather than having to check it in and check it back out again.
