I then sent some crypto assets to my new Base wallet. It received the assets no problem. I even sent some more just so that I had enough Ethereum for "gas fees" and so on. All the assets arrived without issue. So then I tried to send the assets (USDT) from the new Base wallet to my Coinbase exchange wallet/address, but it failed. It says that I need to upgrade to the Ethereum network (check screenshots below). When I select upgrade, it states "Upgrade failed. Please try again". I have re-tried this whole process multiple times on multiple devices. I have even tried sending it to another wallet on a different platform/provider, but still no luck. When I try to log in to this same Base wallet using the PC/Browser option, it states that "This Wallet is no longer supported." it was a "Developer preview"!? (screenshot below) I have spent hours working with Coinbase support to try and figure it out. In all fairness, the on-the-phone support team has been excellent and really supportive. However, the 7-day period during which the engineering team was supposed to have solved this has now expired, and I get the impression that this might not get solved for weeks, if not months. I understand that crypto is volatile and all of that, but what we are talking about here is basic app functionality. I didn't lose my logins, I didnt make a bad choice in which crypto to trade in, I chose a stable coin, and I chose one of the biggest and oldest crypto wallets/companies on the market. How are we supposed to hold any faith for this system as a whole if, after years of ordinary operation, one update brings the whole thing crashing down? I hope that Base/Coinbase can resolve this. But I think people need to know that they run the risk of having their assets stuck within a buggy app. Pros \- Old Coinbase wallet was reliable, fast, and simple. - Coinbase exchange is easy to use, fast and good. - Customer phone support is instant and the staff on the phone are amazing. Cons \- New Base app has the potential to TRAP your assets behind an Update bug. - Engineering team takes long to engage with and solve technical issues. Freedly app and easy to access but I had a very disappointing experience with Coinbase when it came to withdrawing money. As a Canadian, I rely on Interac, which is typically free here. However, Coinbase charged me a 1% fee for transferring funds to my bank. I checked for withdrawal fees before signing up and didn’t find any information about this. Additionally, I found Coinbase's customer support to be unhelpful. The representatives seemed poorly trained and were not able to assist me effectively. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Coinbase. I advise you to think carefully before signing up. I do like the amount of coins to choose from. Its easy to transfer money to. Just a terrible site experience since the new update Pros I did like the easiness of saling and buying. I thought this site would be good for day trading. It is not. Cons Since the new update, I have experienced sale orders being deleted, buy orders not there when pacific orders was set, really good orders where I would had made good money. Stop loss orders not feeling, screen jumping around on my portfolio page on labtop, or computer. I even woke up one morning with $$$ missing from my account. I would not recommend the site until the new update clitches are out. Also, you should take daily photos of your money. From what they say, you have to have photos showing you had the money. They seem like the're making strides to update and keep up with today's technological demands Pros Once I was able to get an account, things went very smoothly. The interface is clean, and supports a good number of currencies. They also have an asset recovery tool that has bailed me out of accidental transfers.... twice. Cons Their app on the web is different than their app on the phone. Each service is capable of different things, but I find I frequently have to go back and forth between one and the other for some procedures.
