GroupMe is great to use for efficient and trustworthy communication. Staff and employers can both access it.

Pros

I liked that GroupMe was a good spot for staff communication. All messages could be saved to go back and look at if need be.

Cons

Sometimes the app scheduler lagged a bit but overall a great app. No other complaints. Highly recommend.

It just ultimately created issues of baristas not seeing something really important in time so we had to stop using it and switch too something else. We did use a free version, but I ended up switching to a free version of ConnectTeam.

Pros

I liked the Event section-- creating an event was fun and looked great. It was easy to grab team's attention and I really enjoyed the fact that you could create an album specifically for people to post photos in from the event. I enjoyed being able to make memes right from the app too.

Cons

The app would never notify anyone when people would direct message or post something in the group chat. It was difficult to communicate and we couldn't really post good videos.

We would consider using this product again if there were fewer lost users - when it worked it worked well!

Pros

We enjoyed using GroupMe for many, many months - ease of use and costs were big factors. We found team members of all ages were easily learning to use the platform.

Cons

Unfortunately, many users in our group reported loss of access and many were kicked out of groups on the platform causing lost time and data.

Needed product with more reliable features.

Our company has been using GroupMe for several years now in order to make announcements that are easily searchable in the future. While email will always be needed for formal communications, GroupMe acts as both a digital message board and sometimes like a digital intercom due to its phone notification features. Different departments in our hospital can post team specific announcements to their group as well as posting to the whole staff if needed. Direct messages are also available without having to exchange or keep personal cell phone numbers of every team member.

Pros

Free to use for our staff and allows for multiple different groups. Our different departments as well as our team as a whole are able to post communications and announcements easily with easy notification features.

Cons

The web interface previously allowed for multiple group chats to be displayed in one browser window. That recently changed to only allow one group per browser tab. The ability to interact with GroupMe through a web interface is great though, especially in areas where phone usage is not allowed.

Switched from

[Google Chat](https://www.capterra.com/p/175800/Chat/)

Mobile availability and not having to be logged into a full work email account were the primary reasons for switching to GroupMe

I love groupme. I use it for so many organizations I am involved with. It's an excellent way to communicate and to plan.

Pros

I love groupie because I can keep in touch with a group of people for events, zooms, meetings, etc. I can also add polls, calendar events, tag people and add them by email or phone number to the group. Its perfect for business or recreational!

Cons

Sometimes when a person adds you to GroupMe through text messages, it comes through in as an sms. It's clunky and it's kind of analog. And it comes through with everybody's messages. And it's hard to remove yourself from it because someone else added you this way. And there doesn't seem to be an unsubscribe button for it. You have to go into GroupMe and remove yourself.

Compared to competitors GroupMe is the best for large groups, especially if some don't have SMS or are travelling international. It's easy to use with a simple interface and works cross-platform. However, it lack good media quality for attachments and there are security issues.

Pros

I love that GroupMe is free and connects iPhone and Android users. It's perfect for large groups, easy to use and has a good amount of features including, gifs, location, file/photo attachments and emojis.

Cons

Calling can be difficult since it uses Microsoft teams, and it does not have a video calling option. Furthermore, it does have a low media quality since it uses native camera. It also lacks some features like pinned messages. There's also no end-to-end encryption. If your making a public group, its very easy for spammers to join and flood the chats.

GroupMe is one of the best communication apps that I know of and I surely have tried others that did not amount up.

Pros

I have been using GroupMe for 15 years now. It has been used in my school and now we are using for a business. Great for multi person communication.

Cons

I truthfully did not have any complaints about GroupMe. I never experienced anything that would deter me from using it.

I have used GroupMe for years. I appreciate the simplicity of the app version. I will continue to use GroupMe for various sports teams. The ability to have communications and quick replies is vital when sharing updates.

Pros

What I like most about GroupMe is the simplicity of the software. The fact that communications can stay in one place is helpful. I use GroupMe exclusively for sports team communications and the features that are offered for quick replies are top notch (including the user interface). The prices cannot be beat either. The fact that you get some much integrated without a cost is truly game changing.

Cons

The interface can be a bit outdated. The inability to search individual chats can make finding information difficult. And it can, at times, run slow or have issues syncing. But none of these are deal breakers.
