September 1, 2024 2.0 I appreciate that the app helps our group stay in communication. However if I felt there was another free app with minor advertising, I would switch in a heartbeat. I REALLY wish microsoft would put just a little work into making this a better app. Pros It is a decent group communication app. Helps keep 75-100 members of our group notified and reminded of activities. Can upload photos and flyers. Works decently if everyone has the app downloaded. It really could be a dominating app in this segment if it would get some serious attention from the developers. It is free. Cons Microsoft owns GroupMe and has not done significant improvements in YEARS. SO many random bugs. Constant issues adding members, erc. If you or members of the group don't have the app downloaded, messages can be spotty. Even in locked group, spammers find their way in and have to be kicked. Cannot lock hours of sharing. (late night messages from group can be annoying.) No schedule send messages. It would be nice to just have a quick way to respond individually instead of spamming the whole group. Pros I love that it texts you when someone sends a message to your group chat. I like that you can privately message people in your chat without having to give over your #. They like the having the ability to chat with each other, request assistance quickly, and provide branch updates. Pros I love how easy it is to use and that you can set up different groups within the application to communicate with staff. Cons I honestly would not change a thing! Pros GroupMe has a really good user interface and is good for communicating with large groups Cons No end to end encryption. May 30, 2024 5.0 Pros What I like most about GroupMe is being able to notify my team of any changes to the schedule, if someone is running late, if an incident occurs, etc. My team also is able to notify me if they are running late or not able to make it that day without it being a huge hassle. They can just simply message the group. Cons What I dislike about GroupMe is that sometimes the app will crash and I will have to start a message over. Review Source DF Damon F. Send group communication. Pros What I enjoyed most about it was being able to collaborate with my team and 1 off message people. You can tag specific people in the group if you are talking directly to someone but within the group. You can also react to others messages. Cons GroupMe tends to notify you a lot, but that could go either way. If you don’t like this function, just silence your notifications. I’m not sure if GroupMe still does this, but if you did not reply within a certain period of time or a certain number of messages you got kicked out of the group. If this is still a feature that Brittany has, it might be a good idea to change it. Review Source Jared L. I was glad to move up to using another messaging software for my team. I will say this was great in a pinch when we needed to have coordinated messaging during an event. Other than that not that great. Pros It works fine if you are strictly using it as a centralized messaging app for a small team. Cons It does not do well on all types of phones. There is an issue with bugs, lagging, and crashing. It cannot handle conference voice or the sending of pictures. Also, it is very difficult to get help from support. Personally I prefer Slack, but GM was a fine alternative. Pros I appreciated the ability to send and receive real-time updates on work matters right to my smartphone Cons I disliked the ability for any of the coworkers to post in our channel. There may have been a setting that wasn’t applied, but my biggest pet level was receiving 74 notifications of employees wishing someone a happy birthday from a work channel. Review Source TT Tina T. " November 4, 2021 4.0 We were blessed to come across GroupMe for our business. We can update techs and crewmembers while they are onsite without having to call and interrupt what they are doing to get them the needed info. We send it through GroupMe and everyone in the group sees it! Pros Ease of use! You literally add a contact, they accept the invite and you are all set to communicate with everyone that is in the group! That simple! Cons I don't think there are any features that I don't like about this product. It is very user friendly and works like a dream. Pros GroupMe was the most universal app for messaging across different phones. It allowed us to invite all sorts of people and create many different groups. It's easy to set up and add people. Cons It doesn't have many features. You can't remove messages, edit very well, and long conversations can make some comments get lost in the shuffle. I have used it for many years to form groups that I continuously meet with weekly. The software enabled me to still be in touch with group members daily and to also be notified whenever I have received a group message. Great software to use! Pros I like the ability to meet with groups effectively and still be able to have conversations with them continuously. I also like that I was able to have all my different groups together in one place for me to access without having to do that on my phone. Cons It was a bit difficult trying to join groups that have added me but once I was able to figure it out, it got better. I like you can share videos and pictures Cons Communication in this software can not be easily organized. I use it both personally and with my students. Always easy to add or delete people from a chat I start. Pros This software allows me to get my students' phone numbers and communicate with all of them without them having my personal phone number. I can keep in touch with all of them without the hassles of differences in phone manufacturers. It also stores photos, so I can go back and get them later. Cons Sometimes the notifications turn off without me knowing it and I've missed a few messages that way. Doesn't allow for video chats, so I have to use another app for that.
