Software Engineer I Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Deploy your web app in a single step" July 15, 2022 5.0 I used Amplify for many purposes: from hosting one page samples or catalogs, to top level internal tools that supports a huge user flow. It never experienced a downfall in many projects, since they were deployed. Pros The simplicity on which you can deploy your web app, just connecting your repository (Gitbucket, Github or a simple bucket) and let Amplify do the build for you. After it finish, an URL will be available which can be later customized or routed to your domain. Cons It does exactly what AWS offers at a very low price, with many other services included. Pros What I appreciate most is the availability of pay-as-you-go plans. Cons Certain services may require advanced knowledge to set up properly. Its seamless integration with AWS services and features like real-time data synchronization made my development experience smoother and more efficient. Cons In my experience, AWS Amplify's initial learning curve and dependency on the AWS ecosystem can be challenging. Its limitations in customization for complex backend needs sometimes hindered my flexibility in development. Configuring DNS settings for your Amplify app is simple and the interface is intuitive. Cons When navigating to the Amplify window in the AWS console, I dislike not being able to see which backend AWS services are interacting with my front-end. I realise that if you do all of the setup using the Amplify CLI, then you can see these backend services. However, this isn't scalable for large businesses that need to deploy assets in a repeatable way (using CFN templates or the CDK). Review Source AB Anis B.
