WP Engine Reviews
Pros
WP Engine is an excellent managed hosting service provider for WordPress websites. They offer many great features in all of their hosting plans.
Aside from developing the best WordPress hosting platform, they offer the best support in the hosting business. The time and effort they put into making sure their customers are happy is outstanding.
Cons
It also limits plugins that can reduce website speed. This is good but also a downside.
We use this for all of our websites. And have moved more than 40 clients to their platform just in 2022 alone.
"The king of Wordpress hosting "
Overall: It deserves the price as you’ll get the best experience with a hosting plan.
Pros: With the highest quality in uptime, speed and security, Wpengine is the king of Wordpress hosting. If you have a decent budget, don’t hesitate.
Cons: It would be better and easier if they integrate domain name buying option directly in the wpengine dashboard.
"WP engine, a good software for WordPress hosting."
Overall: Overall, this is a good product for WordPress websites. I'm still pleased to use it. The service would be better if the pricing is readjusted to help small businesses.
Pros: To begin, what is WP Engine? It is a WordPress website hosting tool. Pretty straightforward definition right? But this is it! Once we log into our dashboard we automatically notice the simplicity and intuitiveness of the software: Different tabs of different panels are clearly separated (whether it is the upside panel menu, the left-side panel menu, or the central panel menu). The things that I love about this software: - The Sites tab where we can have pieces of information about the names of our hosted sites, their groups, their PHP version (PHP stands for Personal Home Page, and it is used to manage the dynamic content of a website. We won’t dive into it here, since it is not our principal subject), their capacities of storage, their bandwidths, and the number of visitors per month; - The Users tab from which we can manage the users authorized to access our WP Engine account. We can add or remove them, define the level of their access, can see who among them made modifications on the sites. And overall, we can see pieces of information about them such as their names, emails, and their roles on the websites; - The ability to create a staging from the Staging tab, enables us to work on a draft version before releasing a website; - The very secure features that WP Engine gives us: Built-in firewalls, disk writing protection, secure FTP (File Transfer Protocol), and SSH (Secure Socket Shell). We can also add a 2FA (2 Factors Authentification).
Cons: - Considering the prices, the visitor limits could be too much for small businesses. To give you an idea: For the Startup plan only 25 000 visitors per month are allowed for USD25/month; the Growth plan allows 100 000 visits for USD95/month; the Scale plan allows 400 000 visits per month for USD241/month; and USD2 would add up for each of those limits that we would exceed; - WP Engine doesn’t offer professional emails creation, nor domain names. If we need those, we would have to find them elsewhere. It could be better for the software to integrate them.
"A great managed hosting vendor"
Pros: Good support, stable, does its job well.
Cons: Some plugin limitations botter me quite a lot.
"The best WordPress hosting I know"
Overall: I'd say it's perfect. We have never looked back after discovering WP Engine. It's head and shoulders above any other hosting platform that we know of. Works perfect for simple sites, ecommerce, multisite setups.
Pros: The standout aspect is the 24/7 engineer support. They go above and beyond to figure out your issues, and are extremely helpful even if you need help with something that isn't a hosting problem. You can get help with limiting access to the website from certain countries that are prone to generating spam traffic, and so on. These are definitely extras/nice-to-have, but the staff are patient and helpful. There's a "can do" attitude among them. If they can "physically" help you, they will - that's the policy. There's rarely (if ever) a situation where you'll be sent away with nothing. Other than that, the basics are rock solid. WP Engine is a reliable platform. We rarely ever get downtime on websites. There's a free SSL with automatic renewal and basically everything you need is included. It also works great for any use case, with good entry-level pricing and robust enterprise solutions. They have an intuitive admin area with useful features.
Cons: I don't think there's anything major. If I had to pick one thing, it would be that (to my knowledge) the permission management is pretty binary. The only time where it affects us is that you need to have the highest access level to delete an environment. This means we have to ask the busiest person at our clients' companies if we ever need to do that. On one hand, this is a "safety first" approach. But on the other hand, there could be a bit more flexibility with access settings.
"The best WordPress Managed Hosting Provider!"
Overall: We use this for all of our websites. And have moved more than 40 clients to their platform just in 2022 alone. Using WPE means we can worry less about hackers and security in general. Setting up your install and getting started is as easy as a few GUIDED clicks.
Pros: Everything about WP Engine is excellent. Aside from developing the best WordPress hosting platform, they offer the best support in the hosting business. The time and effort they put into making sure their customers are happy is outstanding.
Cons: Depending on the service it can get a bit pricy. I do wish that the plans were not separated by number of sites and amount of bandwidth, but that you could have a one-site plan with 100K unique visits for example.
