Pros I like the ease of use of this app. Its video learning feature is awesome. It's a great app for learning new language. I like the fact that it is available on mobile. Cons I am yet to find what i don't like about Memrise except the ads that pops up for you to buy premium. Most valuable features are locked to premium. July 31, 2023 5.0 Memrise has helped me with going back to learning French. I used to study this language at the university and I lost contact with it, so I forgot a lot of vocabulary and expressions. Memrise allows me to practice the most common phrases depending on the scenario. This helps me remember words that I already knew and add new ones to my vocabulary. If you are starting a new language, you may use Memrise as an excellent resource combined with your personal/group classes. Pros Memrise is simple to use and intuitive because you do not need any tutorials. This app centers its educational tools on everyday used phrases, and not just on vocabulary or random words. It is excellent for people who are going to travel and need to learn basic expressions that are commonly used. The app has a lot of videos of people who speak clearly, so you can listen and practice what you hear. The interface is vast and well organized by greetings, basic needs, polite expressions, numbers, talking about yourself, etc. Cons Most of the scenarios and lessons in Memrise need to be unblocked by paying a subscription. The prices are reasonable and sometimes they have a 50% off. I would prefer that more lessons are free for users who cannot afford the content. It is very good being as a beginner. Using flash cards it enhances vocabulary Cons The app is to much constrained on a vocabulary. The learning curve saturates and feels like we are locked in a loop. Promo offers are too sales-oriented and pushy. 4. Most gamification is copied in each level and lacks excitement. It has a scope for improvement to include stories and tests for a regular learner engagement. 5. Memrise needs more work on user pronunciation learning aspects. I thought it to be very creative especially with any learning progress I achieved which was represented by a growing plant. Quite ingenious. Although I was focused on learning one language, I was able to explore some other interesting languages without limitations. The grammar aspect is a bit lacking , you will mainly learn words.
