Support has been exceptionally responsive and the app is routinely updated. The free version includes quite a bit of functionality and the paid versions add valuable features. In summary, Standard Notes isn’t the flashiest or most feature-rich note-taking app out there, but it excels at what it sets out to do: provide a secure, distraction-free space for your thoughts. If you’re someone who values privacy and simplicity, and doesn’t mind paying for advanced features, Standard Notes is a trustworthy companion for all your note-taking needs. Pros Standard Notes sets itself apart through its approach to privacy and its clean design. Every note is automatically encrypted end-to-end which is refreshing in this day and age. The UX is uncluttered and simple to use. It was easy to organize notes via tags, and the search function worked well. Syncing notes across my laptop, phone, and tablet was seamless and it even works in offline mode. The fact that sync was free made it even more appealing as this is typically a paid feature. Cons The free version is only text-based which works for basic notes but not if you need to add rich formatting, images, or spreadsheets. These features are available via a paid subscription. Due to the encryption, there is a lack of collaboration tools. If you need to work across a team, this will be a blocker. On Linux I encountered occasional bugs with undo and glitchy formatting. The UX felt inconsistent between desktop and mobile. The UI can feel a bit outdated compared to other competitors. Pros Can work without wifi on my iPhone and/or PC, or with to retain the notes and documents. Cons The free version is very limited. Not competitive enough with iPhone notes formatting functionality, and the step-up is cheap but nowhere near MS OneNote. Cons The price, I know that pro features are incredible, but 50€ a year is like wow, I cant afford that, because I don't use the app for my business, at least not in the way where ur finances will improve. It is designed for people who work in remote teams or those who just need to organize their thoughts and ideas so that they can be backed up, shared, and accessed from any device. I work as a freelancer and it really helps me share notes on content topics and outlines with my clients. Highly recommended tool for freelancers!!! Cons It doesn't offer collaboration features due to its encryption model. i have to give my clients an access to my account to see the notes.
