September 30, 2021 4.0 Thanks to twinmotion I can make excellent renderings and videos for my clients and also provide them with a tour through the new web tool. It is outstanding. Pros Since Epic Games included it in its range of solutions, stability improved a lot. The tools are varied and libraries well complete. Compatibility with different BIM software and CAD are very good. Cons In the latest version, the datasmit plugin does not produce exactly the expected result, there is a difference in materials and their composition. Create a lot of delays. April 9, 2025 5.0 I have enjoyed using Twinmotion and the options it gives from its content library is great which makes my renderings more reflective of the type of building/landscape I am working with. I have had nothing but compliments from renderings pulled from Twinmotion. Pros Twinmotion gives a great realistic rendering of buildings and landscapes. It is easy to use and with a Revit add-in it is that much easier. The number of materials and objects it has to pull from is massive. This is a game changer for Architectural renderings. Cons The size of the Twinmotion load is rather large and the process can be slow for large projects. It has a lot of future, but those bugs should be fixed soon. Pros The Student License it allows me to have this program for College for free, its a really great option if you cant pay for softwares of virtual tours more expensive like Lumion. It is the altenative if you want to make architectural videos, like virtual tuors. Easy to update the model. The library of vegetation, people, car and animals with movement its huge It has a large material library, specifically water. Cons Its not optimized for low stadistics computer, its has a lot of bugs at the text's, its a extremely unstable program when you try to place vegetation at your model, also when you try to place animated persons and a cars. This software its a little hard to navigate. Pros It's free for individuals and very easy to learn, have a huge Library and a lot of customisation options. And can even be used with unreal engine for more realistic renders. Cons The quality is great but not as great as other software that are in it's competition, it looks sometimes animated and you have to put in a lot of effort for it to look realistic. Pros Twinmotion is very powerful and easy to setup and use. It's very simple to link the project from many of the software I use (i.e. Revit, Archicad, Sketchup, etc..) and update them with a single click; plus, the ability to control individual objects directly in the engine is a great deal for me. One of the amazing features is vegetation, it's very easy to create landscapes, entourages, and edit them with ease. The integration of quixel megascans gave my projects a huge step forward in quality and diversity of choices. In addition, the path tracing addition was a huge leap for architects and designer to switch to twinmotion. Cons I can't say it's a con but like every render engine you need to dig in the settings to get great results. Reason for choosing Twinmotion At first twinmotion like many other software was an experience to gain, but after a while twinmotion made it to be my primary render engine due to its low price for what it provides, and the ease of use and friendly UI. Now as a 3D archviz I use it often in conjunction with other softwares. Pros It is really easy to use, and there are a lot ot tutorials on their website. You don't need a powerful PC to make great renders. Cons The only thing I think the software fails is its popularity, it has to be more popular among 3D vizualizers. Review Source Luis A. Pros Twinmotion is awesome for rendering!! There are so many materials and textures that you can add even people that move and interact with their environment!! The quality of renders is a plus point for Twinmotion compared to other softwares primarily used for ArchViz in our opinion. Pros Twinmotion and Unreal Engine combo is just great. We like the fact that our ArchViz project can be exported to Unreal Engine. We also like the quality of free assets available in Twinmotion and have been making projects in Twinmotion on a weekly basis for our clients. We took a fairly boring site plan made in SketchUp to help illustrate the project for potential investors, then added real looking trees, actual sky, a video fly through showing birds flying, people talking, and cars moving through the parking lot - all fairly quickly. The final result wowed our client and really helped in the fund raising portion. Pros Quick rendering times, video fly throughs, moving elements (waving flags, walking people, driving cars), seeing paths for moving elements (cars, people), large library of objects. Cons Requires powerful computer to operate effectively, have often had to save often just in case the program crashed on my computer which barley meets the minimum specs. Review Source BW Brian W. This software which was free to use with our license of another product, was something we thought we would just try. It was obvious right away that it was very simply to take our existing 3D models from other programs for modeling, and make them look fantastic. Twinmotion is a game changer. Pros Quick rendering of images / videos, the large library of objects, control over the environment such as lighting, weather, and background. Moving objects such as people and cars. Ease of importing 3D models from other programs. Cons Small learning curve, very computer processing intensive. It helps us explain things to clients and grab the attention of potential future clients. Pros I love how much can be done beyond just the 3D building with Twinmotion - the sun settings, the seasons - the fly throughs! They all add realism and help create an awesome finished product. Cons I often encounter issues with navigating around the model - like I'm trying to get to a different angle and suddenly I'm under the building or flying high in the sky.
