### "A GREAT WAY TO SEND AND RECEIVE MONEY"

Using Remitly has been a lifesaver on many occasions when I've needed to send money to my family abroad. It's very intuitive to use, the fees are very competitive, and it inspires confidence.

Pros

Payments are sent from verified banks. Furthermore, they are fast and allow for a wide variety of payment and receipt methods, including cash.

Cons

Sometimes the price difference is too large when you want to change your payment method. There's no cost-benefit ratio between the delivery time and the price you pay.

Worst customer service. They are not helpful and don’t care about the money that was scammed!!

Pros

I don’t like this company anymore. They can’t resolve issues and problems with scammers! Their website is not safe.

Cons

Horrible experience with this company. My account was hacked by a scammer which speaks Tagalog. He was able to get all the information of my Remitly account and transfer money to a recipient under my family member and transferred all the funds to BDO bank I. The Philippines. Not a safe company.

I had a very poor experience with Remitly. What was presented as a fast, reliable transfer turned into delays, confusion, and extremely frustrating customer support with them not only repeatedly requesting additional banking and incorporation documents but repeatedly saying I had not provided it, even though I sent it in more than once. I never did receive fund and was stranded on the highway with it looking like we were going to miss Christmas with our family. My funds were held up without clear explanation, timelines kept changing, and getting accurate information from support was not forthcoming even when they transferred me to a Manager. This created unnecessary stress, especially since money transfers are time sensitive and require trust. While Remitly markets speed and reliability, my experience did not reflect that at all. After 6 days I finally gave up and am now using Wise. Transparency was lacking with Remitly, and the resolution process felt slow and impersonal. Based on this experience, I would not rely on Remitly again for important or time critical transfers.

Pros

Well, when I started using them, it wasn't this year but they had deteriorated over the years, and haven't been able to solve their problems.

Cons

I had a terrible customer support experience, what was presented as a fast, reliable transfer turned into chaos, extremely frustrating back and forth.

I've used Remitly, my recent experiences have been really disappointing. Transactions seem to take way longer than advertised, and the "guaranteed delivery times" are unreliable. My transfer was delayed by days without clear updates or explanations. This service claims to be quick and efficient, but in my experience, it's been quite the opposite. I’ll likely be looking for a more reliable alternative for my future transfers. Not worth the hassle.

Deceitful and shameful. Misguiding and riddled with traps

Pros

The way they have affiliated themselves with fraudulent banks in Africa.

Cons

🚨 Beware of Remitly 🚨 One of those apps that gains your trust with a few successful transfers, then slowly starts siphoning your money. It’s been two weeks since I sent $220, and the recipient still hasn’t received it. Remitly claims to be safe, but it’s the most fraudulent site I’ve ever used.

Transaction stuck in review, conflicting guidance from multiple agents, and no proactive updates Promised timeline missed twice: ETA moved from 9am on the 31st to 9am on the 1st without explanation. Multiple contacts, same result: I reached out repeatedly, provided all requested info within minutes each time. One agent claimed they had “manually verified” my ID, but my account status and banners never updated. The next agent said the transfer was still under review and that I had to answer additional questions in my profile. Wasted hours of my time that I don't have to try to make this test payment work. No proactive communication: I only learned about new requirements by initiating chats; there were no notifications from Remitly. Business impact: I needed this completed days ago, or at least some confirmation it BEGAN. The inconsistency and delays cost me time and trust. I canceled the transfer and will not be using Remitly for any of my four businesses and I hope you don't either.

I had open to send a payments for services I used and account just got suspened , for what I dont know they say I violated service agreement, whitch i red 3 times cant find what i did wrong was a simple transaction , still they would not tell and you cant open another account either, after all what is a point since they treating you this way

they cant tell you whats wrong , so can you fix it , everything is a secret, we cant disclose , so how we suppose to know ?

TERRIBLE They randomly hassle you and stop your transfer. This can be a real problem if you are away from home and they demand access to your bank account(s).

Pros

Well put together website. Back office and customer service is a disaster. They cannot be relied upon.

Cons

Total hassle. They randomly stopped a regular transfer and demanded to see a bank statement and made me submit to an interview. Small transfer to a regular family member.

lousy, bad and horrible app. the management should look into replacing the entire customer service team. There are no proper workflows, with agents repeating the same questions over and over again. refund process takes way longer than the 10 business days.

Pros

exchange rates was better than western union and my supplier is using this app. there are no other pros.

Cons

remitly customer team is the worst, i dont know who is the manager but the entire team needs to be replaced. bad communication on refunds and constant redirection to another team.

Remitly you're not ready in the market to perform, 1) too much authentication steps, after all the steps you finish, than reject by app. Why? Why you accept at the time of upload the proof and later on reject, returning for failed txn you will take 10 - 15 working days? And the worst customer service people which hold the call for infinite stating that they will hold for 2-3 mins

Pros

If you want to waste time this is the right app to spend your time and stuck your money, wanted to test your patience than you're at right app

Wasting time, this is the right app if you can hold your money for infinite time and if you can test your patience

They blocked two my payments. There is some error and they can't solve the issue but they will return my money in 10 days when I have overdue 2 payments because the transfer didn't go. They have some issues with a partner but it's not my problem. I can't trust them that if I would do payments they will not block my money again for 10 days. And I will not be able to send it. Customer service didn't care, couldn't help and switch of out chat.

Pros

Nothing now. Why do you make me to write anything when I have nothing positice to write.

Nothing now. It meant to be quick and easy

A vendor in Kenya asked me to pay via Remitly. I got the app, filled out the application, tried to send money, over and over qgain they added more steps., Then once they confirmed they would send money I had to call them, be put on hold, and then told I had to start all over, I thought this might be a scam but it turns out they qre just incompetant

I reported the scam to Remitly within 2-3 hours of its occurrence, and they initially assured me that they would help retrieve the funds. However, after filing the report, they not only blocked me and deleted my account to prevent further contact but also misled me by claiming they were working on retrieving the funds. Remitly was fully aware of the situation and admitted that I was scammed, promising to assist me. However, after CBA intervened to help, Remitly attempted to take advantage of me again by trying to dispute the transaction.

Pros

None. I first used it and I got terrible experiences.

Cons

Cut off communication to stop me from get any more updates from my case.

Horrible, if you choose economy, supposed to be there in 5 days, will send an email that it will occur in 5 days, but NEVER happens, always add 24 hours to this, says they need a copy of the bank statement or my ID. If it was a one time occurrence, I would be ok with it, but this is 100% of the time. Email promises one day, and they do not even contact others to have a review started until 1-2 hours before the promised transfer time. Example, a transfer that started on 29 FEB 2024, 100% funds received by Remitly on 1/MAR/2024, but partner banks and reviewers not notified about it until 5/MAR/2024 and then they add 24 hours to the delivery, and then usually change it again as they find something else. Never had the issue with Xoom or with Western Union, but with Remitly, nothing but a lot of stress and mistrust and why I definitely do not recommend using them.

Pros

Ease of getting things set up to to be used, or thought.

Cons

Customer Care and transactions are nothing but problems after problem, receiving dates always changed 2 or 3 times.

It was the worst possible experience. I use other apps for transfer money without any problems. This was without a doubt the worst experience. They suspended my account after I shared with them all my documents and never gave me an explanation.

The customer service, as I tried multiple times to send them documents and understand what they need. They didn't accept my residence documents as it was under my husband name. Even if I shared with them my marriage certificate.

They lost track of the $10,610 funds I sent through them, and I kept having to contact them repeatedly for an update on the issue. They did not help and customers are NOT protected. Beware
