August 29, 2024 1.0 I reported the scam to Remitly within 2-3 hours of its occurrence, and they initially assured me that they would help retrieve the funds. However, after filing the report, they not only blocked me and deleted my account to prevent further contact but also misled me by claiming they were working on retrieving the funds. Remitly was fully aware of the situation and admitted that I was scammed, promising to assist me. However, after CBA intervened to help, Remitly attempted to take advantage of me again by trying to dispute the transaction. Pros None. I first used it and I got terrible experiences. If they make a mistake they will do nothing to fix it. If you cancel any transaction they tell you they will take 2 weeks to refund your money. I started a transaction on \[sensitive content hidden\] to send money to a Zain Cash mobile wallet in Jordan. Today is , and the issue is still unresolved. This has been a very disappointing experience. Here’s what happened: I transferred money to a Zain Cash wallet, but instead of it being deposited there, I received an SMS from Umniah saying the funds were deposited. I don’t have an Umniah service on my number. The SMS mentioned "Al Alami Financial," which I believe is the third-party service Remitly used. It seems they used the CliQ service, which I don’t have an account for, instead of the wallet transfer service I requested. I provided Remitly with all the details and supporting documents they asked for, but I still haven’t gotten a satisfactory response or resolution. It’s been over two months since the transaction, and my money is still missing. This experience has been extremely stressful. I expected better service from Remitly, especially since transferring money to family abroad is so important. I hope this review helps others who are thinking about using Remitly. Pros Remitly I used because I thought they will be cheaper on fee to send money to overaeas, they lie saying they need to do a review, the refunded they fees however they played with you money and finally sent it to you once they make some extra $$ , the are not legitimate way to transfer money to other countries. I am filing a normal complaint with my state. You will gain stress using them, stay away. Cons They used your funds to play with your money and make extra $$ that is why they refunded the fees, if you use “express service” if you use the cheaper rate, it is worse. Self Banking Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Would not recommend at all" March 6, 2024 1.0 Horrible, if you choose economy, supposed to be there in 5 days, will send an email that it will occur in 5 days, but NEVER happens, always add 24 hours to this, says they need a copy of the bank statement or my ID. If it was a one time occurrence, I would be ok with it, but this is 100% of the time. Email promises one day, and they do not even contact others to have a review started until 1-2 hours before the promised transfer time. Example, a transfer that started on 29 FEB 2024, 100% funds received by Remitly on 1/MAR/2024, but partner banks and reviewers not notified about it until 5/MAR/2024 and then they add 24 hours to the delivery, and then usually change it again as they find something else. Never had the issue with Xoom or with Western Union, but with Remitly, nothing but a lot of stress and mistrust and why I definitely do not recommend using them. Despite multiple attempts, comprising six phone calls and five emails to Remitely's customer service, I found myself in a never-ending loop of demands for additional information. Even after complying with their requests and submitting a copy of my bank statement, I was met with further demands for additional documentation. I gave up. I'm having to resort to Western Union. Pros It used to be easy as I've sent money using Remitly before. Cons Excessive hurdles to unfreeze an account that never should have been froze in the first place. Pros The software provides decent exchange rates for international transfer. We can process the money in various ways like wire and direct debit cards. That is really quick and rapid Cons I did not see the various features in this software as others provide. And the customer support is not up to the mark. They need to work on that and improve the support if customers/users encounter any issues. That's indeed important otherwise we can't get the support at the right time.
