February 16, 2025 5.0 As name suggests it was best for python based application but as a beginner it could be one of the best deployment platform to use if your application is based on python. Pros It has 512mb free storage and was easy to deploy with proper instructions and comes with pre install python libraries. Cons Limited CPU usages, limited storage and was only best for python based software deployments. Pros 1.Pythonanywhere helps to host the Flask & Django projects on the public domain. 2. It is very simple to use and setup 3. It also supports the OOPS concepts. 4. It provides lots of pre-installed python libraries which makes our work more smooth. 5. Code and deploy code without setting the environment for the development and deployment 6. It helps to setup different environments for developing,QA testing, UAT and Deployment. Cons 1\. Free features are very limited, we can say it is totally paid application. 2. Silly mistake in code will leads to wastage of your time to figure out the mistake. 3. The thing which is completely missing here is the support for web socket. 4. Package installation is little bit tough 5. Code pushing requires GIT or some code repository. You'll never wake up to an invoice worth thousands of dollars simply because your app registered many user requests. Pros The interface is user friendly unlike similar platforms in the hosting industry that are intimidating. With PythonAnywhere, you don't have to learn another tool to use it, you can basically point and click your way through from the beginning to deployment. Cons It takes a while to update the Python libraries on the platform which is really not an issues unless one has an application or script that relies on the latest libraries. It enables scheduling tasks therefore PythonAnywhere will perform like cleaning database frequently automatically. It supports older version of Python as well. Cons Interface does not seem user friendly. There is no web socket support. A free user can host only single project as compared to other platforms. Sometimes reloading of web application may get slower. File storage quota is low comparatively. Pros For me, Python has always been the ideal tool for web programming-It's fun working with it. PythonAnywhere is more fun because I have extra flexibility to work from anywhere and has a simple syntax that is very easy to read and write. its GUI is very simple, organized, well structured, and easy to use. It has a ton of extensions that can be installed at a single mouse click plus its intelligent guides for new users and responsiveness to commands. It offers affordable pricing resources for developers of all levels. One more thing I love about Python is that there is no scarcity or limitations to its training. Whether you're looking for accredited schools or private institutions, there are thousands available. It did not let us down even once. Highly Recommend. Pros We utilize PythonAnywhere, a web-based platform, to carry out our hosting and application deployment tasks online. There won't be any problems while executing our scripts because its server is current and can execute both the newest and older versions of Python. We are able to deploy any web application built using Python libraries like Numpy, Pandas, and frameworks like Django or Flask. Cons We can execute tasks with fewer lines of code thanks to the syntax's simpler structure. Due to the support provided by several Python modules and expanding community support, it is simple to implement. One thing that can be noted is that the 1GB file size restriction is not a major issue for our use cases and considering that it is the base subscription model it should have at least 3-5GB. Pros Python is a very easy language to code in, and anyone can easily read code and understand it . Python is a language that developers like to use. Python is a language that can be added to. Python lets you call Python code from other programming languages, like C or C++. This means that we can't open it when we need to run a critical piece of code very quickly or an algorithm. Python has automatic memory management, which means that the memory is automatically cleared and freed. We don't have to worry about clearing the memory. Cons Python's results are a bit slow because the code is run one line at a time. Python can't be used with the limited amount of memory. Python structures require more memory space. All errors are caught while the program is running, even syntax errors. We need to fix all the mistakes to get the output. Of course, not all kinds of apps will be supported, but for my purposes, that's more than enough. Cons It does come with a free tier so that you can try it out and decide if it's something for you. But honestly there's not much to explore without at least some sort of subscription. There are free standalone alternatives available if you're willing to sacrifice some convenience. Pros It takes care of the whole backend and technical stuff. If you thought you have to maintain your own server or VPS to run your Python scripts or websites, and that scared you, stop now and try PythonAnywhere. Of course, it's not as flexible as VPS, especially the free tier, but in return, it saves your time and covers your back. I guess it's worth it for many people. Cons It's too expensive to run a simple web scraping script (related to my non-critical side project), so I decided to pay a (much lower) subscription for a VPS. Pros The most impactful thing about PythonAnywhere, is for sure the nice collab mode with screen-sharing between multiple accounts in cloud, making it a NICE request at the user's disposal. Cons I think the non-jupyter notebook support for freemium users is kinda restrictive, the best potential the tool can offer goes with that jupyter notebook support, making it a hard choice for new users.
