I am happy, loyal client. Pros I've been using wise (ex transferwise) for 8 years now, and I have absolute trust in this company. I love how simple and transparent everything is. With them, nothing is complicated or sketchy and I just love that. Cons The fact that you cant do much with money besides spend it or send it. Pros It's easy to use, has good fees for currency exchange and it is a well known platform, which means that a lot of colleagues also use it. Also the API makes it easy to connect to other services. Cons Sometimes the UI bothers me with unecessary stuff that I'll never use. It would be better if it was a little cleaner. They don't understand the client's profile and make bogus requests for data without bothering to understand. It feels like their support team is overloaded and doesn't have the capacity to be a REAL PARTNER for the company on the platform. Their attitude is superficial. You can't trust this neobank. You'll be constantly at risk of having your account closed at any moment. Pros Not the most convenient, but a simple and fast interface for remote payment processing. The key convenience is the ability to conduct business without leaving home or office. Cons This is an unreliable neobank with no proper customer support. They can freeze your account at any time, demand documents, and their incompetent employees, along with their imperfect corporate client relations mechanism, can jeopardize your business at any time. My company has had accounts frozen multiple times. After lengthy investigations, the information somehow reached competent employees, and we received unblocking and an apology from the neobank. Recently, after yet another attempt to create an account for my company in another EU country, one of their employees decided I was doing something illegal with the company's legal structure and began blocking and removing FlawlessGroup from service, a company that has been operating reliably for four years and holds trademarks and patents for its software code. These are extremely unreliable people who don't deserve your efforts or trust. I regret very much that I trust it this financial institution. For now I'm looking for alternatives. Pros Virtual card, option to keep it in the mobile app. Other than that there are not much advantages at least in comparison with competitors. Cons I travel frequently, and I signed up for Wise because I needed a virtual card that I could use while traveling abroad without having to rely on physical cards. I funded my Wise account specifically for this purpose. Unfortunately, I became disappointed with Wise within the very first week of using it. While traveling abroad, I used my Wise virtual card to purchase a bus ticket. I specifically paid extra for a more expensive fare that allowed cancellation and a refund. My travel plans later changed, so I cancelled the ticket and requested the refund I had paid extra to be entitled to. The bus company refused to refund me. I contacted Wise for help with the dispute. Wise did essentially nothing to resolve the problem. Instead, what followed was a stressful, multi-day exchange involving numerous emails, questions, and repeated requests for documentation — including documentation that the bus company itself refused to provide me. In the end, Wise did not help me recover the money. The amount involved was only about $20. That is less than 1% of my monthly travel budget, so financially I could simply forget about it. I am writing this review because of what this experience tells me about Wise, not because losing $20 is a serious financial problem for me. I am a U.S. resident and have used several American financial institutions over the years, including Wells Fargo and Charles Schwab. I also use PayPal. Occasionally, I have had disputes with merchants. In my experience, banks and other payment services have generally made the dispute process straightforward and have helped resolve these situations quickly and effectively. My experience with Wise was completely different. That is what destroyed my confidence in the service. If Wise cannot effectively help me with a merchant dispute involving just $20, why should I trust them with substantially larger amounts of my money? What happens if one day my card details are stolen and hundreds or thousands of dollars disappear? Based on this experience, I no longer have confidence that Wise would protect me or effectively help resolve the problem. For a financial service, trust is everything. Wise lost mine during my first week of using it. I cannot recommend Wise. Once I withdraw the remaining money from my account, I intend to stop using the service and find a virtual card from another financial institution or payment provider that I can actually trust when something goes wrong. I had previous bad experience with a rival company and wise has been amazing: the other company was not good with security features but wise has been so easy to use and fast to set up Pros I love this app ! I transfer my money here immediately after I'm paid and I know my money is secure and stays at same amount. I first downloaded it when I visited London and I wanted to convert my money into pounds. I was able to convert some of my wise balance into pounds which was better than paying in euro so I knew the exact amount. It kept record of my transactions and helped me see what I spent Cons I wished I could have lodged money directly onto the wise account: maybe that's possible if I got the physical card but for now I just have the digital one . A business needs a reliable financial provider and clear communication, especially when company funds are involved. Losing access without a proper explanation can seriously disrupt daily operations and cash flow. After this experience, I would not use Wise as a primary business account again. Pros Before this happened, the platform was easy to use, transfers were straightforward, and the exchange rates were generally competitive. Cons Wise suddenly deactivated my business account and rejected my appeal without giving me a clear or specific reason. I still had company funds in the account, so I had to urgently request that the remaining balance be transferred to my Hungarian bank account. I also want to highlight the secure payments because I have been receiving freelance job pays in a secure and fast way. Cons Certain rates are unclear and I may not be too sure if I got the cheapest rate which caused me security issues but it's an ideal option and a great software that helps my value for money when I need to transfer money. One of the worst experiences I can recall with re-request after re-request for data already provided, and then THEY made errors thinking my name was my Banks Name and then THEY cancelled my transaction (probably out of shame given the disgusting disservice they gave me). November 6, 2024 1.0 BEWARE: Wise closed my account without notice after asking me to deposit funds to keep the application process going. They sent me an Interac e-transfer request which I used to deposit $3,000. Then they closed the account due to not meeting their community standards and kept my money. I have been fighting with them for a week trying to get the money back. Since they closed the account before returning my funds they have no record of anything and dealing with their customer support has been an absolute nightmare, have sent and received upwards of 20 emails back and forth and still don't have my funds returned. They require a bank statement showing the account name, a record of the transaction including account numbers and payment reference numbers etc. I have given them all this numerous times now but keep getting passed around and then asked for the same things again. It's an absolute drain of my time and energy. My banking institution where the funds were deposited informed me that the reference number I gave them should be the only thing they need to reverse the deposit. This has been an excruciating process that I still don't have a resolution to after 6 days and over 20 emails back and forth with their support. This should be a simple resolution. Firstly, they should not accept money from me until my account is fully approved. Secondly, they should have returned the funds before closing the account. Lastly, according to my bank, and Interac that I have spoken to, they should only require the payment reference number to reverse the transaction, especially since they initiated the closure and their policy states that they will return the funds. This has been a horrible experience and I would never recommend Wise to anyone in Canada. I don't think their agents even understand the payment systems they use. Because currently, I'm using the wise account to get payment from my international client in USD format. I use to receives the Internation payment in USD format. There is also the option of several bank account balances e.g USD, GBP, and my local currency PKR. I can also receive money using GBP format as well as USD. The Thing that I have liked too much in wise is transfer to our local bank account. And the amount will be transferred to your bank account within 30 minutes. I have made a lot of transactions for transferring my money from a wise USD balance to my local bank account and I'm very satisfied with this. Mobile access to a wise account is also a very smart and cool process. I have installed the wise application on my android. And I am glad to share that the application of wise is Fingerprint supported, Mean that there is no need of typing our password again and again. I can easily access my account through android just by using a fingerprint scan. Managing payment through the mobile application is the same as we do through the web. I have not faced any type of lag problem or any type of security issue while using the android application of wise. Cons Well, there is too much to experience in wise, But I have some suggestion for the wise team to introduce some improvements. First of all, the Multi-currency option of wise is very appreciable, But there is a charge of 20$ for getting USD bank account details. Although the charge will be credited to our wise bank account, but we have to pay for once. I have a lot of friends that are unable t use wisely just because they are not having a visa or MasterCard for making a transaction too wise. And they are not eligible to get bank account details without depositing 20$. That's why I had liked to discuss this issue with the wise team , and my honest suggestion is to remove this charge . Although you can ask for a legal documents for human verification or may ask for local bank account details but I would like that this charge should be removed completely and getting any bank account details inside-wise should be completely free of cost. Pros Ease of sending funds if you are not asked for verification, if you are then 9 days plus. Cons Customer support is non-existant. I have sent funds to a client 9 days ago and the funds have been withdrawn from my account but not reached the recipient. In my business, regular payments to clients are critical and after launching many support tickets I keep getting the following reply: "I can see we are still waiting for our team to verify your documents. I will reach our to them to get an update." Despite stating on the transfer voucher that it may take 1-2 days to verify the information they have asked for it has now been 9 days and I am still sending e mails to Wise and raising support tickets. Latest message is: "We’re sorry for the delay in your verification. We’re experiencing a large volume of businesses onboarding now, so this is taking a little longer than expected. Our verification team is working hard to review all businesses as quickly as possible. Businesses are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. It can take anywhere from 5-7 working days." First of all I could open accounts with different currencies, all linked to the same card, and I handled a problem with a payment which I could not manage to receive for months with other banks! Now Wise has became the stable solution for these kind of payments. Then I had a problem with some money stolen from my account because I mistake I did. Despite all, with a huge help from the customer service, I finally managed to recover that money, which seemed to be impossible to get back. I can't believe the service is real bargain..they charge me only £4ish for the amount £500-1000. It's hassle free and secure. When you use with debit or credit cards, you'll get the money literally just within a few seconds. I've been using it for 2 years now and so far it didn't let me down.
