If you want a simple, well-designed, easy to use notes app, I can’t recommend Bear enough. Pros Bear is wonderful to type in. It’s a light app so it opens quickly without issue. In all my years of using it, it never crashed. The organization and system is also super easy to get into. Just add a hash tag, and then sub-categories are just as simple. Cons While the organization system is wonderful because it’s simple, it also lacks complexity if you need more robust options. In my work I needed to build a reference library but that became too complicated to manage in Bear. It also didn’t have share options. Pros Bear text editor is an exceptional tool for anyone who values speed and beauty in their writing software. It's fast and the interface is gorgeous, with a sleek and minimalist design. One of the standout features of Bear is its search and retrieval capabilities. Finding old notes or specific lines of text is fast, even with a large libary. And Markdown support is top notch. Cons Bear seems a little prescriptive in its organisational metaphor, without support for nested folders or deep outlines. Personally I'm going to switch away from Bear toward either Craft or Apple Notes. It also lacks drawing support.
