I haven’t used it for a long time but will continue to use and recommend. Pros Everything is in one place. It’s easy to track procedures done, anesthesia, and billing. Having a quick login in and ability to access from any computer Cons It can sometimes double my charges or not charge items. It is simple and easy to use. Hospital notes and information is easily identified. I believe it simplifies work flow and allows for an promotes optimal patient care. Pros I love how user friendly Instinct is. It is simple while still being professional. Cons I wish you could move the medications up and down on the list. Instead of them going in order they are added. I have used many different products but always happy to work in a practice with Instinct Pros Very intuitive software and love the color when medications are scheduled, due or outstanding. I'm excited about future expansion of the Instinct Science suite of products. Pros Instinct Treatment Sheet is the best in the business and miles ahead of competitors. Safety measures built into the system are an big advantage. Plumb integration is tremendous and very valuable. Excited about the ePrescribing (although I haven't had the opportunity to learn much about it) as I think it'll further allow us to operate more efficiently. Instinct Med Record is intuitive and customizable to the needs of the practice. Cons I wish our hospital was able to better integrate with the Instinct suite of products. We are a large hospital that does not utilize major outside labs and imaging services. I do not see this as an Instinct problem and see it more as a problem on our end. Review Source LD Lorna D. Love the whole package for Charting, Treatment Sheets and Analytics. Pros Simple to navigate and thereby easy to train others for day-to-day charting and accounting, responsive and helpful tech. support when needed, very receptive to feedback and integrating outside ideas into reality. Cons At first, some of the integrations (especially with Cubex once we switched our management software to Instinct) were troublesome, but problems have been resolved. Switched from [Covetrus Impromed](https://www.capterra.com/p/95888/ImproMed/) We saw a presentation on the product (treatment sheet) and it looked like it would better fit our needs as an Emergency/Specialty practice. It has made my charting and communication with the hospital VERY efficient and easy. Pros I have worked in the veterinary industry for 13 years and this program is by far, the easiest, most efficient and intuitive program to use for record keeping and hospitalized treatments. I can easily change from charting view, treatment view and discharge instructions in one area. Treatment entry is instantaneous. I can also refer to my treatments as I am writing in my chart and vice-versa which makes record keeping fast and easy. Cons I wish that when I am looking at an uploaded document that I would be able to separate the page. This would allow me to read through the document which is often previous hosp notes/diagnostics AND type my notes into the chart at the same time rather than open the document, copy my notes, close the document and then type information into my record. " September 5, 2025 5.0 Highly recommend, we used to use paper treatment sheets but now since we have switched to Instinct it's so much easier. Pros The treatment plans are so helpful, I love that Plumbs monograph is fully integrated into the product, very visually appealing and easy to understand. Cons It can be difficult to see all of the orders/having to scroll to see things, having things be missed accidentally. It would be great if there was some sort of pop up message to communicate with the rest of the team when new orders have been put in for a patient. Review Source KW Kayla W. It looks nice and is very user friendly. The treatment board is awesome, super easy to use and helps calculate doses. The best part is that it is always getting better and the team takes your feedback into account! Cons There are some bugs that still need to be worked out and improved on, however, as noted above, that is always improving with instinct! Unlike other softwares that haven't changed in years! Pros Easy to use even without much training. People who have not used anything like instinct can usually catch on quickly. Cons Sometimes it freezes especially if too many people are on it. I wish that anyone could add things to the data base like alerts and treatments but management has to okay them so it takes more time. An example would be "deaf", if it isn't in the system already you have to ask for permission to load it and it would be easier if you could just add things as a normal user. Makes having patients in various parts of a large hospital easier to manage. Pros When we first adopted Instinct for our large specialty and ER clinic, I was not sure I was going to like it. And while there was a learning curve, I cant imagine how we did things without it in the past. Sure, one of the main features/points is for charge capture, which is important, I am more of the how does it help me do my job. I love that I can pull up my patients treatment sheet anywhere in the hospital and make additions when I think of them rather than the next time I find myself in ICU. Cons The logic behind some of the codes still eludes me. To this day I can never remember what misc owner medications is under. I do wish you could edit those fields to things that are more logical to your own mind rather what someone thought made sense many years ago. Review Source MH Mike H. Pros I love how user friendly it is, and how easy it is to make changes to the treatment plan for the patient. I also love the drug calculation feature and how it can notify you if you have placed an incorrect dose for a patient. Cons There is really nothing that I don't like about Instinct! I love it. Cons Enhancement request prioritization has fallen off for those using the Treatment Plan version to make room for users of the EMR. I like the fact that we can customize to what we need from the program in order for us to perform better at our jobs. We are not locked in to a cookie-cutter program. Pros That I can get help within seconds for any issue I may be having. It's very easy to use, as well. Cons I do get kicked out several times during a 10-hour shift. Review Source
