Fantastic interface and a useful workplace tool!

Pros

It is user friendly, easy to navigate, and promotes clear communication. The game is also fun!

Sometimes there are errors transferring over charges, but that usually tends to be based in user error, not the program itself.

### "My favorite electronic medical record system"

May 18, 2024

5.0

I've used Instinct in 4 hospitals over the last 10 years and feel it has positively impacted the quality of medicine, the quality of medical records, and ease of writing records in all locations after it was brought in.

Pros

I love the ease of adjusting medications and the at-a-glance summary of vitals, fluids, medications/doses/timing across a 24-hour period. No need to interpret other people's handwriting. Easy to adjust to your hospital's specific needs with customer service.

Cons

That not every hospital I go to uses it. It's occasionally annoying to try to match up units on new drugs entered into the system, but generally easy to figure out/work around.

Reason for choosing Instinct Science

Ease of use, ease of learning, simplicity of design, efficiency, ability to customize for your hospital

### "It's the new EMR for our veterinary hospital. Better than our old EMR."

July 1, 2024

4.0

It's the EMR that we use for our veterinary hospital. Better than our old EMR.

Pros

I like how one can duplicate rechecks and then pop-in the necessary snippets into the required fields without having to re-type everything out. It saves time. The support staff has been friendly, professional and quick to respond. Also, when the internet is down, using emergency cell phone hotspots has been interesting.

Cons

Having to click several times (vitals history, etc.) to look for the previous weight during an active appointment. The owners always ask for comparison, and I have to be the one to say, "One moment; I've got to check on the computer." The previous weight needs to be on the printout for the intake of the appointment.

### "Feels Instinct-ual!"

April 26, 2024

5.0

Overall, it has been a great experience working with Instinct. I love that they are constantly working to make the platform better and they are very receptive to our feedback about what is working and what products/features we'd love to see developed.

Pros

The ease of use! It takes almost no time at all to learn the various parts of Instinct. From the treatment sheets, to the charting, to the Rx module- each piece seems to just make sense.

Cons

The more integration with other software, the better. For example: we have Instinct integrated with Idexx, and the more platforms that all communicate easily, the better! I know this has been a huge priority for Instinct, and their product development team is extremely receptive to requests for new integrations.

Our old EMR platform simply couldn't keep up with the demands of our growing hospital (it was slow/laggy, and it's functionality and integrations were a bit outdated).

### "Instinct review"

April 27, 2024

5.0

Pros

Instinct Science provides a platform that allows for the comprehensive management of patient records. This includes everything from medical histories and treatment plans to diagnostic results and billing information. Having all this information centralized and easily accessible streamlines workflows and improves patient care. The customer support is also UNMATCHED! Fantastic customer support team.

Cons

One significant frustration with Instinct Science lies in its lack of flexibility regarding document management, particularly the inability to edit document names once they're uploaded. This limitation can be especially problematic in fast-paced emergency room settings, where accuracy and efficiency are paramount. Typos or inaccuracies in document titles are not uncommon, and the absence of a simple editing feature means that veterinary staff must resort to cumbersome workarounds, such as downloading and re-uploading files, just to make minor corrections. This process is time-consuming and counterproductive, detracting from the goal of maintaining organized and professional patient records. The frustration extends beyond document titles to other features, such as vaccine uploads, highlighting a broader issue with the platform's lack of editability post-upload. Addressing this limitation could greatly enhance usability and streamline record-keeping processes for veterinary professionals.

New hospital. Old hospital used instinct and cornerstone in conjunction. Cornerstone for the record is absolutely terrible. Instinct is SIGNFICANTLY better by being user friendly and the customer support is unmatched.

### "I have been really enjoying this program for our emergency services"

April 27, 2024

5.0

I have really enjoyed that this program is colorful and not just black and white. Extremely user friendly. And the staff have been extremely helpful with the learning curve. The program has little touches like during vet week they made a very adorable banner, just adds that extra touch that many other software programs don't have.

Pros

I thoroughly enjoy there is someone to help you 24/7, especially being in an emergency practice where sometimes we have questions or concerns at 3 or 4am that need to be answered. They are extremely friendly and you can send GIFs to one another. In a field where days can become long and exhausting, Instinct even gives you cute little quotes or jokes when you log on. It's the little things that will put a smile on your face

Cons

I am hoping Instinct can make the Rx prescription labels separated by visits so that no labels are filled by accident. For a visual person it would be nice if there was a bold line in-between or highlight the current visits prescriptions that have been made, especially when we have our chronic patients here.

### "The future of veterinary medicine"

April 30, 2024

5.0

From start to finish, the team behind Instinct has been wonderful to work with. The rollout of Instinct was incredibly smooth and is a testament to the user-friendliness and intuitiveness of the product. Instinct makes our hospital run more efficiently and promotes better patient care.

Pros

Intuitive, user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, continuously improving and frequent updates, incredibly responsive customer service.

Cons

difficult to use for monitoring things that are more frequent than hourly such as transfusion monitoring (q15 min), pressor titration (q5-30min), etc.

I like it, wish students would enter treatments after they perform them

Pros

Love the ease of entering Instict data, really like the RER, helps student better understand how much the should offer a pt to eat

Cons

when a pt is discharged, I can no longer add treatments I just completed and have to add an adendum to an earlier treatment to record treatments

### "So easy to learn"

April 27, 2024

5.0

Excellent, the support is so easy to use

Pros

How logical it is to use and to teach other doctors to use

Cons

Nothing really, it had only recently been release in the EMR so the initial integration was a little less efficient. It was anticipated though being a new program.

May 9, 2024

5.0

Pros

Everything is very easy to learn/teach and makes sense. Features are easy to find and navigate. Charting is quick and straight forward. Customer support is always available and helpful.

Cons

Reviewing printed records after a patients stay has ended is difficult and awkward. There is a lot of wasted space and paper.

### "We love this EMR and treatment sheet software!"

April 29, 2024

5.0

We were the 2nd or 3rd hospital to use Instinct for patient flow sheets when they first came out. We were ver happy to switch t their EMR software

Pros

It was initially developed by a veterinarian, so it meets all our needs.

Cons

I wish that the patient ID numbers were more logical (ie numerical order) but they seem somewhat random. Also, some of the charge capture features seem challenging to our assistants who manage charges (the way charges are grouped, I am guessing it is in the order that things are completed) they wish that it was by category. Unable to make canned estimates (I have been told, this isn't something I personally do).

Switched from

Needed a cloud-based system to catch up with the times, and wanted our EMRs to integrate with our treatment sheets.
