Back then it was the only choice. Along came Apple's Final Cut Pro in the early 2000s introducing more modern drag-and-drop tools that opened up the world of editing to a younger generation. Media Composer has its fans and most users in the professional long-form media world or film and television, that's notoriously reluctant to change anything. That was a blessing and a curse for the software as it is now somewhat outdated and unnecessarily difficult to learn. Pros It's a solid editing choice for editors who need to collaborate. Cons Despite a somewhat revamped user interface and the introduction of more modern drag-and-drop editing tools, the software feels stuck in time and like a relic from a past era. At very beginning the UI can frighten user because it's not intuitive at all but after a few hours and experienced video editor can understand how to start editing. Then I liked for instance the effects mode on the timeline that you can decide which side of a transition should be longer than other without have to worried of making calculations, such as the case of DaVinci Resolve. Besides I found a very useful feature the color correction and it was very easy to use or at least I learnt it quickly and used to fix some shootings of my several documentaries I produced since then. The audio section was lacking a little bit special effects and of course to get better results should use Pro Tools but in it's simplicity it worked fine for my need. Pros The detachable modules of the interface let you set on the main screen what is likely to be used more often while set on secondary monitor or in background other less used modules. I also like the possibility to assign almost al features to a key in the keyboard and have your custom shortcuts in a breeze and visual interface. Cons The price and the need to be online to edit, at least this was my latest experience and it's not nice to be linked to an internet connection, because you can be fried if that day your provider is out of work. Pros el resultado final es de alta calidad, en imagen y solido, posee una gran cantidad de efectos los cuales se pueden editar a necesidad además de poder confinarlos ya que en este programa casi todo es editable posee muy pocos predeterminados que lo hacen una herramienta que se ocupa en la industria cinematografía cor lo que editar en ella es todo un desafío . I am learning more and more every time I use it, but I mostly have to look up tutorials. I am fluent in Logic Pro X, and I wish I was able to figure things out by doing more easily.
