I like that thewre are separated logs for medical history, concomitant medications, protocol deviations and Adverse events. each form has multiple separate pages to add all data in an organized matter. Pros Forms are well shown and the organization of the outline Cons There is no option of reporting any question as missing answer. Pros REDCap makes data collection easy. In my work I especially appreciate the option to collect data asynchronously via the mobile app, especially for research assistants working in areas without Wifi or data connectivity. Cons Some functionality is limited in the mobile app which is a con for more complex projects. Our team has sometimes found the data-syncing process to be confusing when multiple users are working on the same project, which necessitated changes to our study flow. It has been growing over the last few years and is constantly trying to improve. Pros I like that I can create data collection instruments for longitudinal projects or even short-term projects. The development of basic surveys is pretty easy and they even have a bunch of additional modules that can be added such as multilanguage tools, recalculating programs, etc. Cons I don't like the way they output the longitudinal data. It's difficult to categorize. I wish REDCap had some more professional development videos or workshops to teach the new modules that they create. Review Source NH Nishat H. It allows for easy deployment through the use of iPads if your study allows for that use. This makes the survey administration extremely easy. Additionally, changes can be made to the surveys very easily. Pros What I liked most about this software was that it was extremely easy to use and ultimately did not require much initial training. It was very easy to amend certain surveys and data collection tools, and also very easy to export data in a variety of ways for ease of data analysis. Cons Features that would further improve this software would include a feature that allows for graphical images to be produced based on select data that is highlighted at one particular time. The export function can specifically export certain data sets making it easy for data analysis. The fact that each form can be locked provides us with an extra layer of protection of our data. Cons It would be good to have an app for iPads or tablets for easy lab use. It is user friendly, and manages and stores data well. Pros I like that RedCap is very simple to use. It does not have a learning curve for users, and the platform is very straightforward. I use it weekly to track responses related to research interview experiences. I like that you can copy and paste the survey link to distribute the form. The link can be used in many different messaging media, such as text message and email. Cons I wish that there was a better way to create a trigger for links to be sent, or continuous links to be shared on a defined timeline. For example, for this project, we have people completing surveys each time they complete an interview. They can either find the original email or message that contained the link, or I can share the link with them, but I wish that there was a way to preload dates in which the link should be shared, that corresponded with the times in which they are scheduled for interviews, so that it was instantly sent to them as a post-interview form. Pros Our company uses the program for data collections as people are interviewed over the phone. This allows us to set up a flow and prompt the team the verbaige to use and guides them in collecting information. As the interviews need revised it is very easy to do so. The information collected is easly moved into any spreadsheet we create. Cons You must save as you go because if you are idle from the program for too long it clears out unsaved work. Pros REDCap is a perfect software for retrospective data collection with many useful features (e.g. data quality control, reports etc.). It is really easy to set up the project. Cons I often need to have the option "not done" for a mandatory question, but unfortunately it is pretty complicated to set it up (although it is possible). I would also prefer to have better options in appearance settings of the database. Lastly, REDCap is not very suitable for clinical trials where you need randomization. Review Source PA Pauline A. Pros High functionality. This software provides a sleek, simple, format for data capture and surveys which can then be gathered/collected seamlessly when the product/surveys are constructed well. Cons Ease of functionality. It took us months to properly set up our survey by playing around and trialing many options. Pros It is quite easy to create simple survey but REDCap includes also many additional modules which can help to make the survey more proffesional. I am sure that I don't even know about many functions available. I have always found everything I needed among the features available in REDCap. I use the tool almost every day, in different projects! Everything can be kept organized and in a same space. Pros REDCap is an extremely friendly platform. You don't have to be an expert in data handling to use it. I also like the way you can organize data in many different ways. Funds are received through a central entity and yet reports of active TB case founded , referred and treated are shared via RedCap for access by the Global Fund.
