### "Excited for further experience "

My overall experience was very satisfying, as our IT team works with different software systems, and AWS Systems Manager made it much easier to configure, monitor, and track updates across them.

Pros

AWS Systems Manager was easy to install and configure, allowing smooth operations and simple management of the different configurations we used for our projects

Cons

There was nothing we disliked—our team loved the interface as it was easy to handle and helped us track updates efficiently.

### "Once You Learn It, You’ll Wonder How You Ever Managed AWS Without It"

October 7, 2025

4.0

Once you get over the initial setup curve, AWS Systems Manager becomes your control tower for everything AWS. It saves time, boosts security, and just makes managing infrastructure less painful. I wish I had started using it earlier, it would’ve saved a ton of late nights.

Pros

1\. Centralized management of EC2 and hybrid servers. 2. Secure remote access through Session Manager. 3. Strong automation capabilities using Runbooks. 4. Integrates seamlessly with IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail. 5. Improves visibility and compliance reporting.

Cons

1\. The interface can be confusing for first-time users. 2. Documentation is thorough but not beginner-friendly. 3. Some features (like OpsCenter) require deeper AWS knowledge to configure properly.

It was messy, error-prone and extremely time-consuming. Losing track of SSH keys and inconsistent patching was a constant headache.

### "Rule your System with AWS"

January 29, 2025

4.0

My overall experience was good and it did make the tasks a lot easier to manage and time saving which was the best part

Pros

The best thing is the centralized management capability that we get while using AWS system manager which let us control and automate the tasks and make the work a lot easier.

Cons

The thing I like least is that it sometimes have latency and delays while executing commands which can lead to slow work and negatively impact the tasks.

### "AWS System Manager:Time-Saving tool."

August 13, 2025

4.0

After the setup pain, it just works. Day-to-day tasks like patching or installing software became super simple, and I feel like I spend less time babysitting servers. It’s a solid tool if you’re already using AWS and want to keep things organized.

Pros

Thing I liked the most is that it really brings everything together and make task super easy. I can check on EC2 instances, push patches, or even handle servers outside AWS without jumping between tools. The automation they provide saves alot of time and I don't have to do all manually. Also, it plays nicely with other AWS features like Session Manager, which makes remote access way easier. The fact that most features don’t add extra cost is a big plus too.

Cons

In the beginning it was little bit tough to figure out. Like you have to set up roles, permissions, and the agent, which isn’t exactly beginner-friendly. Some options are a little hidden in the interface, so I had to dig around or watch a couple of tutorials.

Cons

The sidebar is packed with too many features. It can be hard to find what I need, and it feels unintuitive for first-time users.

### "best manager Of the system "

December 5, 2022

4.0

AWS systems manager AWS presents a simple limit, it is its prior configuration which may impose a set of services that is too complete according to your current uses, or too restricted according to your uses.

Pros

I like this software because it allows me to improve visibility and control in the cloud, on premises and at the edge. This facilitates the migration process for existing applications, while preserving the options to develop new solutions.

Cons

The risks of attack and loss of confidentiality are increased because depending on the system used, the company will not necessarily be able to work or dispose of its data outside the network, Returning to an “in-house” IT service is often costly and complex.

Reason for choosing AWS Systems Manager

I chose this product for its ease

Pros

AWS SSM provides plenty of features which reduces headache of doing complex tasks and saves a lot of time.It does offers patch manager, schedulers, automations, request for change (RFCs) and a lot lot more.

Cons

It's a bit expensive but it can reduce labour and you can save money by lessen up hiring for AWS admins as it can do most of the administration tasks easily.

### "Seamless integration with other AWS services and Good automation tool"

September 3, 2025

5.0

We've been using mostly in Parameter Store/Run Command/Automation for many years. Run Command/Automation is pretty good tool to maintain/deployment tasks on our ec2 instances. We could also utilize those services to create AMIs and patching systems on regular basis

Pros

Very good integration with other AWS services and can have up to 10000 standard parameters as free tier to store config data or secrets in Parameters Store. Also if you utilize or deploy any infra resources using AWS Cloudformation stack, then you can just directly access to System Manager Parameter Store Keys without exposing your values.

Cons

Most painful moments in AWS System Manager is Automation documentation failures. It does not have any options starting over where it fails and so you have to start Automation documents from beginning. And if your app or webservices heavily rely on AWS Systems Manager Parameter Store, then you would see lots of api throttling errors while getting values from SSM PS.

### "AWS Systems Manager a helpful necessity in AWS"

September 23, 2025

5.0

My overall experience has been great. Being able to control systems via sessions manager instead of having to use ssh keys is a critical part of our control of our environment and patch management.

Pros

The thing we like the most about AWS Systems Manager is it's ability to manage and control our instances in one place across multiple accounts.

Cons

The thing I like least about AWS Systems Manager is that the amount of things that are packed into the side bar can be confusing to what is actually a core service offered by Systems manager.

### "besta company"

December 16, 2025

5.0

Overall, AWS Systems Manager is a powerful and robust tool for infrastructure management and automation. While it has a learning curve, once properly configured it significantly improves operational efficiency, security, and visibility across managed resources

Pros

Centralizes management of EC2 and on-premises servers in one place. Patch Manager, Session Manager, and Automation greatly reduce manual operational work and improve security. Tight integration with other AWS services and IAM makes it reliable and scalable for enterprise environments

Cons

Initial setup and configuration can be complex, especially around IAM permissions and hybrid environments. The interface is not always intuitive, and troubleshooting failures can be time-consuming due to limited or unclear error messages.
