Pros
It is a free software we have been using for some time now and is really easy to make 2D games from it. The documentation is clearly laid out and the online community is a very active and helpful one.
Its intuitive user interface and powerful scripting language make it easy to get started, and its asset library is full of useful assets and tools.
It's been really helpful in developing my indie game projects. The community is great and there is a lot of helpful documentation and resources available.
It also has a great community that is always willing to help. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to create their own games.
Cons
There are no direct return strings from http requests. It uses signals which makes creating multiple http requests at a time difficult.
If you are not that familiar with development or are very much a beginner when it comes to programming, you might find it difficult to deal with these bugs yourself.
The only problem I have is that the sprite and node systems are somewhat unusual and can be confusing.
Additionally, the lack of a visual scripting system can make game development more difficult for those who are not experienced with the scripting language.

"Unleash Your Creativity with Godot Engine: A Powerful Game Development Platform"
Overall: Godot Engine is an impressive and affordable game development platform that offers a wide range of tools and features to help you create high-quality games efficiently.
Pros: Godot has a built-in game editor that allows you to create and edit all aspects of your game in a single application, including game logic, animation, sound, and graphics.Godot has a high-quality 2D and 3D rendering engine that allows you to create games with stunning graphics, and it also supports mobile game creation. It is very easy to learn, as it has an intuitive user interface and comprehensive and detailed documentation, as well as a large community of users willing to help you.
Cons: The initial learning curve can be a bit steep if you don't have any prior game making or programming experience.Although the user community is large and friendly, it can be difficult to find solutions to specific problems due to the large amount of information available.Although Godot supports mobile game creation, it may still have performance issues on some older or low-end devices.
"Why Godot Engine is a great game engine."
Overall: After I got used to using Godot, I have really enjoyed creating 3D games. I have been a loyal user for around 3 years now and have had a positive experience almost every time i launch the engine.
Pros: It’s ease of use and low file size. It takes no effort to launch and install the software. Exporting games within the software takes little to no time and errors as well.
Cons: Making HTTP requests are a little tedious. There are no direct return strings from http requests. It uses signals which makes creating multiple http requests at a time difficult.
"Godot, It has Promise but not there yet"
Overall: Confusing, releases do not have backwards compatibility and it does not convert very well. They change things and remove the legacy code that breaks projects like deg2rad is now deg_to_rad the older one will cause errors instead of a depreciation warning and not breaking the code base or better yet CHANGE IT WHEN YOU IMPORT.
Pros: It has no fees attached to it, its beta, the dev team is not very experienced. the documentation is bad and all over the place. BUT if you know what your doing it can be effective
Cons: Node_paths.. just stupid the UI should determine that without this dumb requirement in code.
"Great for 2D Games"
Overall: It has been a very handy software for 2D game developing testing for us and is our go to software for 2D games production.
Pros: It is free and is also very easy to use as learning this software takes less time. We basically use it for 2D game development and testing but it supports 3D as well which is a great addition. It also has a great performance.
Cons: Features for 3D could be widened and the store for the assets could have more resources to use.
"Creative Alliance Review"
Overall: It is a great software for us to get into the game development scenario and the advantage is that it is open source. It has helped us a lot in making small scale 2D games and will continue using it, hoping for much more improvement in the 3D game making scenario as well.
Pros: It is a free software we have been using for some time now and is really easy to make 2D games from it. The documentation is clearly laid out and the online community is a very active and helpful one. It also doesn't require a very high end system and can run in common systems and devices as compared to other software.
Cons: The market place could have more assets and sometimes there are bugs and inconsistencies in the software. 3D game making capabilities needs to improve.
"Godot: Unity Substitute? "
Overall: Overall, with its ease of use, being lightweight, being free, and being an open source, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't want to try this. This is one of the best there is on the market when it comes to 2D development, its preferred language is easy to learn and use as well. I could argue that nothing can top Godot when it comes to 2D.
Pros: Godot unlike Unity is very much lightweight and contains most of what Unity can do. When it comes to 2D development, it's one of the best engines out there. It is also worth mentioning that Godot is free and open source, so you can be sure that there is always a dedicated group out there who would be willing to always ensure that Godot stays up to date and can compete with the industry. Its script is also fairly easy to use. GDScript being nearly identical to python can welcome beginners and experts alike. You could also opt to use C# if you are transitioning from Unity.
Cons: While it excels with 2D, its 3D is not a strong suit. With its limited capabilities when working with 3D, you're better off using other engines for now, but it can improve as it's an open-source engine, it's only a matter of time before it can catch up. Also, in my experience of using it, you could run into some nasty bugs that are caused by the engine itself. If you are not that familiar with development or are very much a beginner when it comes to programming, you might find it difficult to deal with these bugs yourself. And of course, to top it off, as much as the community being as helpful as possible, there really are issues that they can't help you with, so you must make sure that you have the perseverance and the wits to answer your own problems when using this engine.
"A game changer! No pun intended! "
Overall: I want to really give this platform, which is my go-to for small to medium games, a huge shout out for all the 2D/Pixel asset integration and plugins, as well as the fact that it makes all community projects available to everyone. I look forward to seeing it become a leader in game development in the near future
Pros: Godot is a breath of new air for anybody weary of Unreal or Unity's incredibly steep learning curve—it's lightweight, simple to set up, use, and deploy!
Cons: It could use a few additional shader properties, particularly for 2D development
"A good option"
Overall: It made it easy for me to create prototupes quickly and the ability to choose between several programming languages helped me a lot. However, it lacks a larger community for greater resources and solutions to complex problems.
Pros: What i like most about Godot is its inclusive and accessible approach to developing video games. It is a free and open source platform. Ease of use and the possibility of choosing between several programming languages. It has an intuitive visual scene editor that makes it easy to create, edit and organize game elements.
Cons: What i like least about Godot is the lack of resources and documentation compared to other more established game engines. Perfomance limitations on extremely large or complex projects and may have limitations with respect to the complexity and flexibility of particle systems and post-processing effects.
"My Godot experience"
Overall: Overall,This software is distinguished by its open license and user-friendly interface, leading to reduced costs for usage and training compared to other similar software choices available in the market.
Pros: The most advantageous aspect of this software is its open-source nature and availability at no cost. Additionally, even individuals with limited experience can easily understand its user-friendly interface. It provides comprehensive documentation and receives ongoing support from a dedicated community of users and developers. Moreover, it is compatible with multiple platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, and the Web.
Cons: One of the main issues I had with this software was its support teams, which I found to be one of the most unsatisfactory support teams I have ever encountered. Their lack of professionalism and slow response time were particularly notable drawbacks.
"Maybe godot is just not for me"
Overall: I think is a good game engine, but its just not for me, maybe other developers can use it to its full potential.
Pros: - I like the UI is very intuitive. - I like that you can do both 2D and 3D projects in it -I like that you can add custom code
Cons: - I dont like the structure of the project, i struggle a lot with the use of nodes and scenes and thats why i ended up dropping my project in godot and using gdevelop. I just a single con but it caused me to be incapable of using the network features and struggle to do the most simple tasks.
"Hard but worth it"
Overall: Long nights getting little done but learning soooo much
Pros: The finished games that’s you can potentially make is crazy. If you can think it chances are you can script it
Cons: It’s a bit hard to use at first but it is worth learning to use as it is so good of a game engine definitely the best
"Good but a little bit unusual"
Pros: It's a great game engine and the coding is easy, I also love the inbuilt pixel art optimization. It's also pretty easy to use. I also admire that it is very light-weight and even has a web version, so you don't need to worry about lag.
Cons: The only problem I have is that the sprite and node systems are somewhat unusual and can be confusing. I don't like making a new scene for some sprites, it's just different to me and unlike other game engines I've used.
"Open source e multiplatform"
Pros: È open source e facilmente accessibile a tutti, supporta il multi piattaforma
Cons: Difficile da imparare per via del linguaggio GDScript, pochi asset presenti
"Godot Engine to the Rescue"
Overall: It is fine and my eyes will be on the engine for the next months
Pros: If you has a programer skills it is for you
Cons: No to much "No Code" options for the non programers
"Godot is a wonderful open source game engine that everyone should be excited about."
Overall: Godot is a wonderful engine, having a node based engine makes complex design a bit easier to understand as objects. The way the devs have brought new life to each feature and leaving nothing untouched has made the investment to learn this engine worth it.
Pros: This software is being reinvented daily into a state-of-the-art game development engine with practical enhancements and future facing design elements.
Cons: Really, my only concern is that the documentation for the latest version be updated a bit more rapidly, but it is to be expected in reality.
"Easy engine to pPickup and powerful enough for large projects"
Overall: I first learned about Godot from my son, who in turn learned about it from a professor. As an open source game engine, I was a touch skeptical in how powerful it could be. But Godot has made great strides to compete with the big boys (Unity and Unreal). Version 4 (in beta as of this writing) has revamped the 3D graphics engine with amazing looking particle and other visual effects. If you're more versed in Python over C# or C++, this is truly the engine for you if you want to get into game dev.
Pros: Godot Engine is a very simple engine to pickup and use. Since it's open source under the MIT license, there are a lot of development communities that make it easy to learn and find add-ons for. It's built-in language is very much modeled after Python, one of the easiest languages to learn and code in.
Cons: The only thing Godot is truly missing is some sort of asset store.
"Godot Engine: An Innovative Game Development Platform"
Overall: I have enjoyed using Godot Engine. It is a powerful, easy-to-use engine that allows for quick game development. Its intuitive user interface and powerful scripting language make it easy to get started, and its asset library is full of useful assets and tools. While there are some drawbacks, such as limited support and documentation, the engine is constantly being improved and updated, making it an excellent choice for game development.
Pros: Godot Engine is an incredibly powerful and versatile game engine that allows for quick and efficient game development. With its intuitive user interface, it eliminates much of the hassle and complexity associated with game development. Its powerful scripting language, GDScript, makes coding a breeze, and its robust asset library is full of graphics, animations, sound effects, and more. The engine also takes advantage of modern hardware to create visually stunning games with high performance and stability.
Cons: Although Godot is a powerful engine, it does have some drawbacks. It is still a relatively new engine and as such has limited documentation and support. Additionally, some of the more advanced features, such as physics and networking, can be tedious to implement and require a lot of extra effort. Additionally, the lack of a visual scripting system can make game development more difficult for those who are not experienced with the scripting language.
"Godot Engine is an amazing tool for Indie Developers who want to create 2D or 3D games."
Overall: Overall, I really like Godot Engine. It's been really helpful in developing my indie game projects. The community is great and there is a lot of helpful documentation and resources available. I would definitely recommend it to other indie developers. Is a powerful open source game engine that provides a huge set of common tools, so you can focus on making your game without having to reinvent the wheel. It also has a dedicated 2D renderer with many features specifically for designing platformer games or rpg games.
Pros: Godot Engine is an amazing tool for Indie Developers who want to create 2D or 3D games. It is very user-friendly and has a lot of features that makes game development easier. It also has a great community that is always willing to help. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to create their own games. There are many things I like about Godot Engine, but if I had to choose one it would be the ease of use. I find the engine very easy to work with and the documentation is excellent. I also like the fact that it is open source and there is a large and active community.
Cons: Perhaps, to put some downside, the engine is still under development and in some cases we can find a bug or error, but from my experience they are usually taken care of quickly
"The best engine for the best cost-benefit"
Overall: Godot helped me produce an end product in record time. With an easy-to-use workflow, the Godot project structure is truly modular; you can easily use assets, interchanging them among projects. The modularity allows us to produce our tools to improve work, and the result is excellent. The project is open-source with a free-software license. This means it can be extended, the community can contribute and the code/product will not be removed or have an imposed removal action.
Pros: Easy to use, a good set of examples to have a reference, all features for a 2D and 3D game engine, modular, open-source, easy to build for several platforms, modular
Cons: The user base and community are not as large as the bigger engines, but they are very helpful. Does not build to consoles (yet). Minor issues with 3D rendering results, but in continuous improvement.
"The power to the people"
Overall: Mind blow. A real game coding and development flow that no other can compare.
Pros: Growing in exponential speed, godot engine has become a rival to big private game development tools. It has their own vision of game development made by game developers, for game developers, something that may sound obvious but it impacts you when ompared to the basic normal software development on unity or the mashup of methods of unreal.
Cons: I love the open source methodology and it is having their own team to work fully on Godot 4, but it still have long times of waiting between updates and bugfixing
"The not so little engine that should."
Overall: I could best describe my experience with Godot as a mostly enjoy puzzle. Not great for productivity, as the answer I sought where rarely readily available, and often took a great deal of time wading through large chat logs to find proper solutions. It's fun, and when things flow well its enjoyable, but it certainly isn't productive compared to using other engines where when I run into tricky problems, I can find solutions in minutes or hours, not days or weeks.
Pros: Free forever, and compactible with almost any project license. Largest community of all the available open source game engines. Best training resources of all the available open source game engines.
Cons: Limited official documentation, and not likely to change anytime soon. The documentation has improved over the years, but at its current rate will take decades to reach the same level as unity and unreal. Limited use main scripting language, while certainly a great language it is limited to being used in Godot which makes it a poor choice for anyone looking to move beyond it. Limited training resources, while certainly the best out of the open source options, it is still a far cry from even the middle ground close source engines. 3D requires a lot of tinkering, you can get some great 3D results, but it requires quite a lot more work and time than Unity or Unreal. Because of that, I believe Godot is only a great engine choice for 2D or software development.
"Surprisingly easy to create games or interactives and at 0 cost."
Overall: I can't be happier with It. We approached it to prepare some interactive elements and realized that its internal tools gave us more options to make the final product cleaner and well-finished. Also, support was 10 out of 10.
Pros: How easy is to build something with almost no time, and how it becomes really powerful with a bit of experience. As being open source, documentation and support are great! Other users are really helpful!
Cons: Just heard about some technical limitations (In our case, we didn't reach them) compared to other paid solutions, but seems that a new milestone is getting ready to fix that gap.
"Una valida alternativa ai motori di gioco proprietari"
Overall: È un software molto interessante e permette di sognare un videogioco completamente open source. Spero che presto possa sviluppare potenzialità che lo possano accostare alla qualità di Unity o addirittura di UE5.
Pros: Apprezzo il fatto che si integri molto bene con Blender
Cons: Purtroppo non ha ancora la qualità di rendering e di animazione dei competitor maggiori (UE5 e Unity)
"Simple to Use, Free and Powerful"
Pros: Very easy to use for beginners, and it's free! Great for 2D projects.
Cons: Some difficult to understand animation options.
"ABS_Godot"
Overall: mobile application development, hyper casual games
Pros: its interface is simple and not a popular app so we can use it for free
Cons: the details of the animation are not enough for now
