The plugin is easy to use to integrate any downloading fucntionality in a WordPress website

Cons

Plugin have more updates more often which makes it vulnerable to Wordpress themes

J'utilise WordPress pour mes clients, des sociétés pour qui je crée des sites internet . Je forme donc les entreprises à WordPress. Et si je dois intervenir à distance , je prends la main pour des modifications. Je conseille WordPress à mes clients mais parfois on m'oblige à utiliser d'autres interfaces.

Pros

WordPress est très populaire. On peut travailler sur différents supports, que l'on soit sur tablette, un téléphone portable ou PC. On peut personnaliser le site selon nos besoins grâce à de nombreux choix en termes de personnalisation et l’ensemble des plugins à disposition. Même sans grande expérience de codage, on peut créer un site professionnelle ce qui permet de faire un investissement moindre pour un résultat professionnel.

Cons

Parfois certains plugins qui ne sont plus supportés.

Pros

It is easy to set up and update. It helps keep a track of all downloads that have occurred over a period of time and also allows version control (display only). Pairing it with a CDN like bunny.net makes downloads seamless, while also providing the necessary stats. Updating to a new version of the download is easy.The ability to create a shop page to monetize downloads without needing to WooCommerce is a great plus.

Cons

Some design aspects of the download page are very rudimentary. Maybe this allows for greater flexibility to make it fit our website's design.

WordPress Download Manager provides detailed analytics and reporting, allowing me to track the performance of all the downloads. I am also able to monitor the performance of my payment gateways, which is very important.

Pros

The software is easy to use and has a variety of useful features. I like its integration with popular payment gateways such as PayPal and Stripe. This makes it easy to sell my digital products directly from my WordPress site, without the need for an external platform. Additionally, the plugin supports multiple file types, including audio, video, and documents, giving me a greater flexibility in the types of files I can offer for download.

Cons

The customization features could be improved. I also got some compatibility issues with some themes.

I used it for years, and it's very powerful, but lately I'm moving all my clients to options that are cheaper, have plans dedicated to agencies and include more features in their plans.

Pros

It has been for years "the standard" in wordpress file management plugins.

Cons

It has become very complex and bulky and they have to many plugins you need to pay also just to do basic stuff.
