It helps keep a track of all downloads that have occurred over a period of time and also allows version control (display only). Pairing it with a CDN like bunny.net makes downloads seamless, while also providing the necessary stats. Updating to a new version of the download is easy.The ability to create a shop page to monetize downloads without needing to WooCommerce is a great plus.
