I am still learning things that it can do to make my job easier. Pros It is easy to use/understand. When I started my job 4 years ago, it was easy to learn. I am still learning new features. Cons My least favorite feature is that it logs me out too quickly when not in use. I wish it could be about 20 minutes before logging you out automatically. Owner Individual & Family Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "User friendly" October 16, 2023 4.0 The automatic close out if not used in fifteen minutes is a worthless and very irritating feature, and now the added feature of sending a code in order to get in is really of no value, I forgot my phone the other day and couldn't get in. Since I purchased this software I should have the CHOICE OF ACCEPTING THESE FEATURES. If not you should offer a means to shut them off if I find no value with them Pros Tracking, enrollment. There isn't that much good that I can say about this version, my previous version served us well and was totally more user friendly. Cons This version is not user friendly, very complicated to use compared to my first version. Reason for choosing Procare Solutions I chose to stay with procare only because I was using a previous version, it only seemed natural, however this version is way to complicated and definitely not user friendly in any way!! Pros I like that all my information is found in one spot. Cons I wish we could save more then one credit card on a clients account. I wish things were more user friendly. I wish an alert would come to my email about insufficient funds or lack of transfer from tuition express to procare for payments. Adding the Procare Connect and the Childcare App syncs our information, which made the transition very simple. The addition was inexpensive compared to other apps I had looked into. We can control what different users can access. The added communication features are very useful to our program. Cons When we have technology or connection difficulties. It is difficult to base your operations on technology when it goes down. Customer service has helped with providing solutions, but when the problems begin early in the morning, the time difference can slow down response time. The "pros" outweigh the "cons". Cons Staff times don't sync to desktop, there is no way to export family data to registration forms, would like a forms area for medication and field trips. It has simplified some things for us and this is major. Pros We had to change the way we were doing drop off/pick up since parents were not allowed in our building due to Covid. We were able to do carpool for both and parents were able to sign their children in and out with ease. Cons We would occasionally experience a glitch in the system or internet outage which prevented us from having parents sign their children in and out electronically. We would have to resort to paper and pen and then feed the information into the program once it was up and running. This was very time consuming, especially when you had other tasks to take care of. Reason for choosing Procare Solutions We use and have for many years, the Procare Software to assist with the operation of our center. It was exciting to find out that the two programs linked with each other. This kept us from having to use another system that would stand alone. Review Source TG Teri G. When I was introduced to it, only a few pieces were being utilized but it is capable of so much more. Time prevents me from digging deeper into the other functions, but I really believe it could consolidate many other processes we do outside of Procare. I think the family accounts are easy to manage in procare. I really like how procare and tuition express work together, and make payment super easy to manage. Cons There are some certain things that don't feed through (ie: if a child is changed to a different classroom on their account it doesn't feed through to the billing), but I'm sure if I brought them up to procare they would work on getting that connection made. Pros The part I like the most about Procare Solutions is how simple it is to use. Cons Of course the part I like least is the price. Pros The thing I like the most about this software is the amount of time I get back in my day from the simplistic and shorter routines brought about by the features of Procare. I don't have to spend hours on billing and chasing money now that we use tuition express. I am able to import directly from our waitlist software to the ProCare software so I am not keying client information twice! The tax season is less of a hassle when producing their tax statements. This software is priceless when you think about what you are getting for your money. I would be lost without it. Cons The only thing I struggle with is sitting on hold with customer service for so long when I do have a question/concern that I cannot find a solution to on the website. It is made up for though when the customer service personnel is so polite, helpful, and quickly/efficiently help me with my problem. April 30, 2024 5.0 Parent and teacher communication messager. Pros I like how efficient and clear communication is between teachers and parents. Cons My dislikes are about when you have a child from another classroom visiting your classroom, and you want to share a picture of them playing, you cannot do it at once. You have to send the pictures to both classrooms. I also wished we could click saying that diaper cream was used. Director Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Procare Software" March 5, 2019 5.0 Overall the software has been able to provide us with a more efficient use of our time Pros Procare is very easy to use and has many functions that assist in the overall operations of the child care program that I own and manage. It makes recordkeeping very easy and less time consuming allowing us to devote more of our time to the children and our staff. Cons There are some functions regarding signing children in and out, if a parent forgets to sign a child out they are not able to sign them in again the next day, and their child's time card gets all messed up. If there was a way that the system automatically signed the children out (that the parents forgot to) it would make it much easier for them to sign in in the morning. Also school age kids, would be nice if they could sign themselves in and out when coming back from school or leaving for school. As to checking children in and out, we are currently working toward a simplified process we believe will alleviate issues with parents forgetting to check kids out. Of course you can also use the Batch Check Out feature to quickly make sure all kids are checked out at the end of the day. Sadly they passed away last year. The doctor ask the parents for info and notes I had from the child's past. I called and ask for help to transfer Procare 9 backup to a new computer. ProCare told me they do not service 9 anymore and could not help me. I found this disturbing. Pros Pro Care 10 I do not like at. Loved Procare 9. Used it since 2009. Nine was much more eaisier to learn and once I was used to it had to switch to 10. Found it very confusing Cons ProCare 10 is very confusing compared to ProCare 9. Have to move all over to get things done Review Source Response from Procare Software May 13, 2019 We're sorry to learn of the circumstances for needing access to old data. All historic information from previously enrolled children would be included in a conversion from version 9 to 10, unless the child was intentionally deleted prior to converting. Unfortunately, newer versions of Windows do not allow for installation of version 9 which is why we would be unable to provide further help in such a situation. If you have an older computer with 9 still installed, you should have access to the information; otherwise relying on any printed reports from the past would be an option. We offer free training to help with the latest version of Procare. Our goal is always for your success. Head of School Education Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Procare made us look tech-relavent" March 26, 2020 5.0 The customer care is awesome #1 they have a really accessible online training you can link to right from the screen giving you problems. #2 You can call without shame and they will guide you through. Pros I can access my center from any PC (we have the cloud version). It coordinates seamlessly with our credit card POS (we have the Attendance Module with check in/out kiosk). It secures the entrance to our facility (we have the keyless entry system). Cons I wish there was a way to give families alerts or messages at check in. Our old paper way was easier to put important information IN THEIR WAY. Also, I wish it would alert us if a check in/out was being attempted and not completed. Reason for choosing Procare Solutions Procare offered the most complete system. It's more than bookkeeping, we can use the data to anticipate census on any given day at any given time. Payments made offsite are entered for us. We control our ACH withdraws and it still has a way to go old fashioned and enter checks! The sales staff was patient with our questions and got answers if there wasn't a ready one. The price was very reasonable. The basic system can be purchased and done. You don't have to sign up for any cumbersome, per child, subscription. The software belongs to you. We have the cloud version, but they have a software version that loads everything at your desk. We have used ProCare for the 20 years I have been here and the program has come a long way. We are currently adding the Parent Engagement piece to our desktop system and the addition has covered many of the gaps that we were covering with alternate software. Cons Currently we are having trouble with the sync feature between the desktop and parent engagement piece. The other complaints we have with ProCare are few and relatively minor most due to being part of college and having a center that does not run as most for-profit centers. Review Source MP Maegan P. Pros Overall, the program is easy to use and has helped our billing process. We have been able to use the teacher app for check in and that has help tremendously through COVID. The customer service is over the top awesome. I am VERY thankful that we have someone to chat with and for the most part the same few people each time. To have them available when I need help for myself or a parent asks a questions and invaluable. Cons There are different aspects that do not work for our specific program when it comes to running different reports. But we like so many things about the program that we have worked around it or changed how we maneuver things to adapt to running a correct reporting. I do like however that if something does not work we can tell support and they will put in a ticket for us.
