Pros Dashboard view is very helpful. Ability to sync to KidReports app is nice for business and parents. Cons To a new user Procare is not easy to navigate and can be confusing at times to find reports, even a veteran user. If needing customer support, leave a minimum of 30+ minutes just to speak with someone. Customer support is very responsive. Price is very affordable. Has cloud options in addition to on-prem. Procare integration team helped to quickly and easily migrate from our old system to Procare. Employees use to clock-in, parents check the children in/out, it stores child emergency contacts, we can print timecards from the software, etc. Pros Procare is very user friendly and has a lot of helpful functions. Parents also love the security of using their fingerprint for identification. Cons The check-in screen for parents to use freezes somewhat frequently. Payroll Specialist Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Great software for the money" July 21, 2016 5.0 I use this program for payroll and monitoring child attendance. The payroll time cards are extremely easy to use with QuickBooks. I export the weekly child attendance to Excel to reconcile with manual forms to verify their accuracy for CACFP (food program) Pros It is extremely accurate and has an enormous set of features that I am still learning to use. It is relatively easy for someone like me who has a good working knowledge of computer work, but am not anywhere close to being a computer geek. The customer support has been very good in the times they were needed. Cons Customer support is needed about 2-3 times per year to get the software working. Sometimes, it takes a long time (over 30 minutes) to get a live person online. However, once a CSR is connected, they are very polite and get the problem fixed. Hardware issue: some people have a problem with their finger image so we are having to set them up with other fingers. We tell them to rub behind their ears for natural oils to improve the image on the platen but there are some people who continue to have problems. Review Source VH Valerie H. Pros Reports such as roll sheets, age summaries are effective for our uses. The legend at the bottom is helpful that tells the process of reports. Tuition Express Cons Unless you have strong computer skills it can be difficult to navigate. The accounting software portion is less than secure. We had issues with changes made to the system that made it easy to hide non-payment of tuitions. Not enough checks and balances with System Admin. person to prevent the issues. Updates are made frequently enough so that the system stays up-to-date and is continually improving. There are many features that are user-friendly. Cons Reports are something that I am still not confident enough to use for printing bus lists and attendance sheets. Our parents/families submit child care schedules through MyProcare and we've noticed that when we run certain reports, they are not always accurate (missing or adding in students). Pros I absolutely love Procare Software. It has made the management of running a child care center so much easier and more effecient. From the billing and payments for students to the time keeping and payroll of employees. Procare has a module that covers it all. I use all the features that Procare offers. Procare has helped to set us up and trained myself and the staff to use the system. I recommend this to everyone in the child care industry. Cons I have never had anything to complain about or any difficult part of the program. When I don't know how to use a feature I send a message or call and they are very helpful to walk me through it. Pros Keeps tract of families, employees, time cards, payroll, roll call, accounts, W-2's, Taxes, etc. It's easy to use. If I ever have a question I can figure it out on the website. Customer service is so nice and helpful. My accountant has access to this as well. I'm not sure what I would do without it. Cons I'm not super knowledgeable about Procare. I just haven't taken the time to learn everything. Sometimes during mid day, I need assistance with the program wait usually takes 30 mins on the line. I prefer them calling us back instead of waiting. Cons 1\. No spell check in emails or texting options. 2. No customization in emailing or texting ie. bold, underline, fonts etc. 3. Not able to add a "signature" to emails. 4. Not able to attach more than one thing to an email. 5. On the rosters THEY NEED TO HAVE A TOTAL COUNT OF KIDS at the bottom of the rosters for each day. teachers HAVE TO KNOW THIS. 6. alerts not showing up unless you go into the tab. there should be something that stands out so staff knows to check it. 7. Need to have a list where you can filter the class and get all the parents in that class with their contact information. 8. Text needs more characters and able to attach a photo. 9. Class schedules - we have a family who goes to class 3 days one week and 4 days the next week and then 3 days again. Somehow to customize it. 10. Tuition express - Where we don't have to have the families bank information in our office. I run programs in 3 separate locations, having auto pay and online payments has made it much easier to collect tuition. I also like that my clients can view their accounts and print off their own receipts. Pros I like that my clients can pay online and that we can set up automatic payments. I also like the auto billing feature and the fact that I can see if anyone is behind on payment at a glance. Cons The accounting portion, my deposits never coincide with my bank statements. I had to pay my accountant $1000 to figure it out last year. I am having the same issue this year and can not figure out the discrepancy. The support team has been excellent in providing training resources, training and troubleshooting. Pros Procare makes our childcare center management more effective. The ability to manage staff and family accounts in one place is a huge time saver. The report functions make reporting to our board simple and time effective. With the recent additions of KidReports, tracking and communication has improved. Cons The Procare dashboard is not as user-friendly as it could be for certain components and could use a visual graphic update to make the dashboard more modern. Billing, child scheduling, finger print sign in and printed sign ins. We do not currently use the tuition part of program. Cons I have had to teach myself quite a bit and read, re-read the instruction book. I do like the little video tutorials which help me after the readings. I have called a few times for help and only a couple of those times has anyone gotten me a solution. Customer support is very responsive and helpful. My bookkeeper also thinks that Procare is excellent for the financial side of things. Pros I like that it handles everything, children and family data, payments, payroll. I also like how easy it is to customize it to meet my needs. Cons There are a few minor tweaks that I would like to see. In particular I'd like to be able to email families by registered activities. I also wish I could make adding emergency contacts mandatory in myprocare. It seems that many families do not add an emergency contact, but licensing requires me to have at least one. I feel the customer service could improve greatly especially when our system is down and we need help! Pros I like the ease finding information. The online program has worked well. We have had issues with the time clock computer. Cons Time clock computer for employees has been an ongoing issue for us. We have had non stop issues with it the last few months. The last call to customer service told us to "call a tech guy to come out if we couldn't figure it out ourselves." Considering we pay a yearly fee for Procare this answer concerned me! We don't need all the bells and whistles so it's at the price point we want. Pros It is easy to set up and use. The customer service team is responsive and quick to answer your questions and take your suggestions. Cons The integration to the teacher app could be better. Either features for admin need to be on the teacher app or another app for admin would be nice. Also, if there was a way to keep login for the app, it would be awesome!
