Owner/Director Individual & Family Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Best Childcare Management Software on the Market" July 20, 2019 5.0 We previously used ChildCare Manager, and when they stopped supporting that program we reviewed all the major programs. We were looking for a cloud-based program that included all aspects of childcare management and did not break the bank. Many other program had very high monthly user fees, particularly on automated tuition processing. ProCare checked all the boxes, except compatibility with Mac/Safari, however that was ultimately resolved by installing Parallels on our computers. Pros ProCare provides individual modules so you can purchase exactly what you need for your program. I prefer to purchase the software rather than face a lifetime of monthly usage charges as many companies require. ProCare has thought of nearly everything needed, but is also flexible in terms of designing individual reports. Cons Because I'm not a computer tech type, customization and/or setting up or changing system items is not always intuitive for me. It sometimes takes a bit of time and effort to figure things out. Pros I love that it is so flexible. I have a preschool that has grown into a full daycare. and we have a kind of an "a la cart" experience for families and this is not cookie-cutter software. April 13, 2018 5.0 Maintaining excellent records for the daycare on a daily basis. Pros Very easy to move around the different modules. If I don't remember how to do a task, Procare Tech is a phone call away and will go through the steps one at a time. Through the years they have been very professional and personal with my concerns. We have had procare since 2001. Cons I cannot think of a thing. Procare is set up for our daycare business in many ways. It is an all in one system. Bookkeeping, banking, family set up, payroll, paying the expenses. As the administrator, I have a lot of time to spend in the rooms with the children because of this program. Pros I love the "facebook" style feed the parents see on their child's day. I also love the messaging feature. Cons The ease of Lead Center. The email portion could be set up better. I used version 9 then and it was very easy and intuitive for me to learn.. I used it for billing families and keeping track of payments. I have to say version 10 is great now but I did have a learning curve. I would say the very best thing I can mention is the customer support. Every time I have a question the phone is picked up and the person answering knows what they are talking about... I have never had a bad experience. Cons As I said I used version 9 until it was no longer supported. I am still able to use the wait list portion of it and I rely on it. Version 10 waitlist is not as user friendly and does not allow me to filter out what I am looking for in respect to age of children at a given date in the future. Review Source AB Angela B. We've implemented it between three buildings and it's been a solid program to help keep our program ticking. Pros There are a lot of different options for reports, for just about any purpose that you would need. Tuition Express makes payments and bookwork a breeze! Cons It could be more user-friendly. Finding some of the features is difficult. When entering children it's tough making sure that all of the data is entered correctly; for instance the basic info like birthday, gender, etc is on one screen, but the main classroom is on an entirely different and not intuitive one. Then the billing is on a totally different screen. Either add some prompts to ensure all of those screens are visited or put them in the same space. There are others too, but it's not the most intuitive piece of software to use right away. Reason for choosing Procare Solutions It seemed like it would be an easier transition to ProCare. It has a ton of features, just learning them all takes time! Pros I like how all the information is easily accessible and right at your figertips. Cons I don't think that the software is very easy to use without watching numerous videos on how to get started. This means that there is a lot of time involved, and stopping and starting that has to be done because of a director's roll is pretty tough. Tech support is always very helpful when issues arise. I like that I can keep track of children's records and billing. Cons There are some reports I would like to run that aren't an option. I appreciate what ProCare has to offer, but none of the new apps require you to purchase thousands of dollars of software to operate upfront. There are some functions that could be updated to be easier to use. We are going through a State audit and it is invaluable to have all the reports for attendance, accounting and other things that the auditors are asking for. We cannot imagine going through an audit if we did not have Procare installed! I highly recommend for employee tracking and child enrollment. I have tried other programs and they do not compare. Highly recommend Pros Easy to use and mange. The meal tracking and tuition express are two of my favorite things about procare. I love that trainings are offered and the tech support is amazing. I love the meal tracking and the ability to record my lessons online. It makes it easier when all of my information is kept in one place. Pros I love the easy sign in/sign out screens and the fact that parents can electronically sign out on an ipad. I love the Learning section which allows me to record lesson plans. The ability to do billing, communication, and bookkeeping all in one place makes my job so much easier and effective. The parents absolutely love it as well. Cons The number one thing I would like to see changed is the messaging aspect. I would love to be able to have a thread between us and parents, more like a text message. Flipping back and forth between inbox and sent has caused us some issues with our communication with parents. If you ever have a need to call in for support, you will be helped by the best in the business! As an IT Manager, I use many different programs for my daily tasks, Procare is by far the easiest program to support every site. The ability to have a payment solution fluidly integrate with Procare called "Tuition Express" is such a great feature and something used by thousands of our clients weekly. I do spend time each school year having to adjust certain items, but overall I have been satisfied with their program. Pros Once I have everything set into ProCare it is easy to manage and function with. We use Procare for our billing system primarily - tuition express has been a huge help with us as we transitioned from a center that only took checks and cash to a center that is now 98% electronic payments. Procare is easy to manage and work with and when I have questions or stumble on something I can always seek out their manual and typically the information is there for me. Cons I have come to realize that Procare will nickle and dime you for certain things. I have found recently more and more companies that are offering what Procare offers for a fraction of the cost. We are planning on transitioning from Procare Billing to another software/app system for families. To add on certain features with Procare it will cost you.
