Cons does not provide enough sort capabilities or reports as were in Version 9. seems complicated and too many steps to get to what you really need to do daily work or make changes..... still learning the version though, so that is reason for my answers..... Great tech support! Professional look!" April 26, 2016 5.0 I have been a happy Procare user since 2005. It has made the task of running our center's office SO much easier and faster. I have everything I need right at my fingertips. It is appealing to look at, as well as navigate. I love the skins that I can change from time to time. It adds a little fun to an otherwise tedious job. PLEASE add some for fall! It's every teacher's favorite time of year!! Being able to customize it to our center is also a big plus. It may seem a bit overwhelming to learn at first, but.... I chose to only bite off a little at a time. The online tutorials and blogs are very helpful, too. I am still learning new things in Procare all the time! I don't think I could ever implement all the things it offers! But it always manages to do what I need it to do! Thank you!! If I had to list a con, it would be the way the system keeps track of accrued benefits. Procare9 was much easier, in that, all I had to do was activate an employee and the software did the rest. One click, one time, done! Pro10 requires that I go in and manually choose who get's time and how much. When everyone earns time at a different rate, it makes for a time consuming process that I do not look forward to. Employees used to know each week how much time they had available. Now, because of the time involved in posting it, I only update their time once a month in the system. One thing you may find helpful is that you can set up different accrual rates for benefits, so if some people get one week a year and others two weeks, etc. the calculation is done automatically. January 7, 2018 5.0 Pros Using procare saves me time and keeps my files accurate. When it comes time to do the end of the year totals, I am amazed at how much time I have saved with Procare software. Cons I don't know how to use every feature. It isn't necessarily anything against Procare, it is me and not having the time to learn the things that do not already know about it. Also again not the fault of Procare, but the service is poor where I live and I cannot use the cloud to bring the software with me to the childcare facility. The childcare management system is robust and works well. Cons We wish that the main dashboard in the CMS had a little better layout for overall details in classrooms and things, but the software is great and does what it's supposed to. Scan finger, tap box for child, tap the "Finish" box. Easy. Pros It has a clean user interface. Simple and direct. Chimes when you check your child in and out, which is a nice indicator that you have done it correctly. Also displays check in/out time and has large buttons. Cons On the machine, the finger scanner doesn't work that great sometimes. You have to press your finger on it over and over again. Also. for some reason, the screen will go completely white sometimes. You have to tap the screen to make something appear again, but if you don't know to do that, I'm sure that could be frustrating. Pros It is very user friendly and easy to learn. Cons There hardest part is the amount of time you have to wait to reach someone on tech support. The wait times are usually at least 10 min. and being in the child care industry that is a very long time to wait for someone to answer the phone. If a center had revenue less than $750k, the accounting module may be sufficient. Not enough checks and balances to prevent accounting errors for the non accounting person. Pros I love having the flexibility to work from home or while im traveling. Cons The finger imaging device malfunctions/not able to read fingerprints at times. A little inconvenient to only be able to have the program open on one device at a time. Reason for choosing Procare Solutions It appeared to have a larger variety of choices for running my program. Pros The payment feature is easy to use. It's helpful to know when I have a payment coming due. It also enjoy the check-in and check-out feature. From my very first day using Procare, I have never felt overwhelmed or lost while using it. There is so many teacher resources, demos, and tutorials at your disposal. As soon as I was assigned a tablet, I was well on my way and need very little training from my employer on how to navigate the many different features of Procare. Pros The accounting software! We were using Excel documents before--such a mess! This streamlines it all for us. We also really like how it keeps track of when requirements are due for employees and children (physicals, etc.) It helps us keep track of 140+ children and about 30 staff. Cons Difficulty in finding training. The basic trainings are easily available, but you really have to hunt for others, if they exist at all.
