### "Easy Kubernetes management tool"

May 12, 2022

4.0

With EKS we can concentrate our effort on the infrastructure and on our applications. No more problem related to master node, down status, upgrades and so on. Excellent.

Pros

Maintenance overhead needed when you install self provisioned K8S cluster is very high. With EKS maintenance of master nodes is not needed anymore. Reliability of the service is another plus. Furthermore the easy integration with vertical cluster autoscaler allows to scale up/down nodes saving many money.

Cons

Managed master node means you can't have totale control over the cluster. Limited network management is an example. Support for the latest version of K8S is usually not really fast.

### "One of the best managed Kubernetes implementations out there"

July 6, 2023

5.0

By using EKS (migrated from VMs) we've improved costs, reliability and ease of deployments. Plus, thanks to Kubernetes namespaces, we created sandbox per git branch, which is a big plus for development teams.

Pros

\- Flexible upgrades. Compared with other implementations, such as GKE on which they force upgrades without noticing, you can control when and how the cluster is gonna be upgraded.- IAM integration.- EKS Managed add-ons- Managed nodes based on Fargate or EC2- Terraform EKS module maintained officially by AWS- Integrations with almost all AWS services, including ALB as an Ingress controller- Secrets encryption using KMS

Cons

Nothing comes to mind right now regarding improvements (compared with major providers, such as GKE)

### "Convenient and reliable Kubernetes on AWS"

December 29, 2022

4.0

Amazon EKS is a convenient and reliable option for running Kubernetes on AWS. It is a good choice for users who want to focus on running their applications rather than managing the underlying infrastructure, but it may not be the best fit for those who want more control over their Kubernetes clusters and it is quite expensive for small clusters.

Pros

Amazon EKS simplifies the process of running Kubernetes on AWS. You don't have to worry about setting up and maintaining the infrastructure for your Kubernetes clusters. It integrates seamlessly with other AWS services, making it pretty easy to integrate with other AWS tools and services.

Cons

Amazon EKS can be more expensive than running your own Kubernetes clusters, as you have to pay for the managed service. Some users may prefer to have more control over the infrastructure and configuration of their Kubernetes clusters, which is not possible with Amazon EKS.

### "Amazon EKS is the solution to 8/10 of your cluster requirements"

October 6, 2022

5.0

Overall Amazon EKS is the way to go for best kubernetes cloud service. AWS are still the leaders in cloud services.

Pros

Using Amazon EKS you have very less to worry about underlying infrastructure, so you can focus more on getting your features & services deployed. It is highly scalable, highly available & AWS support has always been on spot. Depending upon your needs, you can choose to manage the underlying nodes & pods manually, through node groups or fargate if your product is not too complex & can be automatically managed by AWS.

Cons

Cost is one of the biggest cons, just comparing it with other similar kubernetes services. Specially if you are using fargate. Another con would be on dashboard management & automatic alerts in case resources or pods are left running.

Reason for choosing Amazon EKS

Matured product, better support & higher reliability.

### "One of the best Managed Kubernetes Platform"

March 23, 2023

5.0

Pros

Control Plane management is very easy, we just have to focus on the addons. Managed Node Group and Self Managed Node group are good mix of flexibility and reliability principle. EKS Blueprint is another thing which is supported AWS community.

Cons

Sometimes they release latest Kubernetes version on EKS little late.

### "Cluster created without sweat"

December 11, 2022

4.0

Elastic Kubernetes Service in short is expensive but highly recommended software my side as the master node cannot be used by any without any permission and adding node groups and providing permission is very easy.

Pros

It's a great feature in AWS having many features. It helped me create multiple cluster of kubernetes without much hassle as the core dns is set-up initially. But in manual installation we need to install network driver seperately so it will be difficult for fresher.

Cons

I don't find anything as such as con but sometimes node groups fails to auto scale which I am not sure as Iam role attached is working fine.

### "EKS is a great tool if you are doing only AWS"

December 30, 2022

5.0

I enjoy using it and support is quick. It can be a bit slow at times.

Pros

It integrates easily with your AWS stack and upgrading is a safe and easy process.

Cons

Plugins and add-ons are a bit tricky to manage when you have a large number of clusters.

### "Managing Kubernetes with AWS Service"

August 27, 2022

4.0

It helped to automate some of the DevOps processes that were previously done manually.

Pros

I really enjoyed using EKS to create web applications that are automatically scaling and running with High Availability using Kubernetes underneath. It takes some of the configuration burden from the engineers.

Cons

This is definetely not an easy service to use - I personally find it one of the most difficult services of AWS that required knowledge of not only AWS itself but Kubernetes as well. I found Google Cloud Platform to be easier to integrate with Kubernetes (Google Compute Engine + GKE)

### "Good service for Kubernetes cluster management"

March 28, 2023

5.0

Good kubernetes management tool

Pros

Amazon EKS support to manage containers with highly scalable, load balancing and provide more security AWS EKS support container deployment to AWS Outposts, virtual machines, or bare metal servers.

Cons

AWS EKS are good for container management but it will not support all regions. Need to add all regions support and need to add kubernetes versions early when kubernetes release.
