Pros It works on my Ubuntu/Linux machine as well as on the web with syncing. Cons It's not frequently updated with new features but it works well so there is no need. July 7, 2022 5.0 Simplenote is helping me keep all of my information and notes in one place, and allows me to access them wherever I go - it's like the modern day equivalent of always having some paper and pen on you. Pros Simplenote is the perfect solution for when I need to quickly save an idea, thought, or remember other information for later. I absolutely love the fact that Simplenote is cross-platform and self syncing. There has been a few times where notes took a little longer to sync than I expected, but not too big of a deal. The multi-device syncing allows me to access my notes with ease from any phone, tablet, or computer as long as I have an internet connection (there's an offline mode too) as everything syncs together pretty seamlessly. I also use the Focus Mode from time to time, which hides the sidebar making things more focused on the writing. The pins feature is super useful as well, using them allows you to easily find an important note as pinned notes stick to the top of the list of saved notes, new notes go below. As I've been using Simplenote for years my notes have built up and I have hundreds of notes sometimes have a hard time finding a note so I'll use the searchbar, don't know what I'd do without that - it saves tons of time. Oh and you can export all of your notes at once to a zip archive! Love that. Cons As great as Simplenote is it could use some improvements. I wish there was an option to group specific notes together. I know the tag system attempts to do this but perhaps a way to pin a particular tag would be even more useful as it would mean not having to go through several button clicks to view notes grouped together. The app is intended to be minimalistic, but I'd love to have some basic formatting / styling options and an option to insert images as I'm currently using a different app to save images, but perhaps that's fine as the app is designed to be simple. Overall, I highly recommend Simplenotes to anyone looking for a simple and effective note-taking app! Pros There are a few things that I really like about Simplenote. First, it is a very simple and easy to use note taking app. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, which I really appreciate. Second, it syncs across all of my devices, so I can always access my notes no matter where I am. And finally, it has a great search feature that makes it easy to find what I'm looking for. Cons There is no way to format your notes, which can make them difficult to read. Additionally, there is no way to organize your notes, so you have to scroll through all of them to find the one you're looking for. I like that if you want to share a note publicly you can publish it and have public link which can be viewed anywhere by anyone without the viewer having Simple note. I love that all the features are completely free and you never get any ads. I prefer it for quick note taking and sharing purposes. Cons It does not have any file attachment option. I read some where that Simplenote developers have recommended against storing sensitive info on the app. This makes usage of the note app limited to low risk data. Moreover it has a simple and clean interface, which makes it very easy to use. Because it works offline, I produce my writing and can sync the file later on. Different of other apps, this one allows you to export your notes as text files. Cons The thing I like least about Simplenote is it can’t embed attachments. The interface is quite streamed, and adding quick notes from meetings and other areas very efficient.
