May 4, 2022 5.0 Election Buddy has been an economical, quality platform to utilize for our organization's annual election. The tech supports have been prompt and dedicated in their follow up, which is truly appreciated. Pros We were very pleased with the ease of creating a ballot. We appreciated the dedicated support received from the tech support team when we hit a minor technical glitch toward the end of the election, which was easily resolved. Cons No real cons! Cons I would remove the pre-added information on the ballot (I believe its for an amendment vote?). You have to make sure you remove it before adding your information and you may forget. The system allows to authenticate our voters (so nobody can vote 2 times) and set up the vote details. Customer service is excellent. We used the trial version many times to figure things out and test - every time I had questions the support team was very quick to respond. Cons My only con - one aspect that we require is the ability to do both online/electronic ballots along with paper ballots. Because of that we have to use the most expensive plan ($299 a vote) - would be nice if the paper ballots were in the lower priced option. The tech support was rapid and thorough. Very impressed Cons The only problem we encountered was that a few of our less computer savvy voters had to vote by paper ballot but I think this would be true of any similar system, and Election Buddy has a paper ballot function you can use Reason for choosing ElectionBuddy Another officer in our HOA had used EB successfully before. It was reasonably priced, we could try it out free and pay per election. We started receiving excellent tech support even in trial mode so went with it without investigating alternatives. Pros The platform was really easy to use and set up the ballots as we had people who wanted to vote electronically and by mail. It took some time to set up the mailing list however once I got the hang of it, it was great. Cons I really can't think of any reason why I didn't like the software. ElectionBuddy has multiplied the number of our members who can and will take part in our elections of officers, representatives at conventions, contract ratifications, etc. The entire process was simple to establish and certainly economical for our needs. We've used it several times and their help resources were terrific even though we needed them only twice. Cons Any "issues" actually resulted from our not being careful following directions. Identification of those who still needed to be contacted to vote helped getting 100% participation and yet preserved privacy of vote. Pros We were able to select weighted balloting for votes based on square footage unit ownership. Could monitor who all who voted easily. Summary results easily to pull. Accomplished 100% of condo ownership participation. Cons Reading the summary of weighted voting was more challenging than expected especially when very close vote. Only had one ballot question that weighted voting results needed to be stated more clearly. Coding in Vote by Vote tab was not easy to understand; will be seeking clarity that was not printed on summary page to explain the weighted vote results (VERY NARROW margin) so hard to interpret. It was advertised as $29 and I really was unable to know the price until I set up the vote. By then it was too late to change my mind. There are so many functions available that it can be overwhelming. overall a very good product and the FAQ's very helpful. Pros It was safe, secure and anonymous. Perfect for someone doing online voting only. Cons It was a little more challenging doing both online and in person voting.
