The major issue arose when IONOS/Mail.com decided to discontinue the @lawyer.com domain. Customers were given approximately four months to migrate. For a business user, changing an established email address is not a simple matter. I have more than 120 accounts tied to this address, along with banking, professional services, subscriptions, marketing systems, business materials, and numerous other accounts. I contacted the company looking for a continuity solution, including forwarding, but was not given an option that would allow me to maintain reliable access to mail sent to the old address. IONOS's Legal Department explained that the decision was final and cited the company's Terms and Conditions, including Section 4.1.8 concerning termination of email addresses when the provider's rights to use certain domains terminate or expire. The experience highlighted a significant vendor-dependency risk: an email address that a customer has used for decades can ultimately remain under the provider's control. If you're evaluating an email provider for a long-term business identity, I would specifically investigate what happens if the provider discontinues your domain and what transition or forwarding options are guaranteed. Pros My email address, which no longer exists. Cons Everything, especially how they handled the discontinuation of the @lawyer.com email address. No solution could be met. They are easy to get on the phone or by email when you need help and aren't too pushy with their other products. Pros The tools provided by Ionos are simple enough that even a beginner can use them. They integrate email campaign and SEO marketing strategies that can be set up in minutes. All products they offer are inexpensive and easy to cancel if you you change your mind. Their customer support is responsive and appears to be US based. Cons Not as feature rich as some of their competitors. Pros I have used mail.com for the business email commitments, cloud storage and document sharing. It has allowed me to run in test environment and working with Dev team on various alterations. Cons Mail.com tends to be more exposed to spam emails and GDPR is not being followed properly. There is no enhanced filtering to filter out irrelevant emails. Review Source Andrew B. April 18, 2022 4.0 I've had a good experience overall , it was a little bit rough in the beginning it's a new service so it's a bit buggy but Ionos gives you your own personal customer service agent and the very first call he was able to work it out for me and it's been smooth sailing ever since. Pros I like how you could fill out your company profile at the beginning and pretty much leave it until you're ready for a promotion or two give company updates. Cons Well it's more useful for companies that have a physical locations because they're local listings. Also 1and1 list to around 30 places where Moz local and some of the other big dogs list to 60+ places, but at a higher price point too. Just like everywhere else in life, ya get what you pay for cuz $5 for 30 good looking listings with updqtes is a great value! Pros It's a very simple mailer. The interface is easy to use. All basic features you need in a mailer are included. Cons For some reason I have to save every email I send to in the contacts otherwise it won't be recalled in the search bar when I want to resend to the same email. It used be working fine at the beginning. Now it isn't. The other thing that annoys me is that they keep advertising their packages more often than they should. You don't see Gmail keeps pushing extra storage packages down to you every time you open the mailer to send an email. January 15, 2025 4.0 i started with mail.com when i started my online boutique, back in 2024. its awesome with a free plan, that allows me to choose from multiple domain options, customize it and make it my own. however, i do not like having to constantly reset creds to log on bc sometimes it rejects creds and makes app useless. cant complain much as i said it is free with options for paid or platinum subscriptions to have a more custom domain and more Pros easy to use free email service that allows customization however the free version isnt flawless, it does work and personally i like it. can customize domain which is awesome especially for new business owners. IONOS helps us to reach customers from different region, mindset, views through its multi-channel marketing and email marketing. And also its adoptive capacity to dynamic content helps to make changes in the product. And the automation feature makes our job easier. Cons Deployment could be still better and UI of this software is bit complicated compared to other softwares that are competitive to this. Ease of use is less and makes harder sometimes. September 16, 2024 3.0 When I signed up with Ionos, it was the first time I ever created a domain and I did not know much about what I was doing. The website options I chose came with SSL at no cost. Then as I was going through checkout process I was offered a business website at a great deal and accepted it as well. Except what I didn't realize was that now I would have to pay for SSL since somehow the email subscription trumped the domain and the email didn't come with free SSL. I spent over 2 hours via chat and on the phone with customer service the following day trying to get this fixed since nothing was mentioned to me during the purchase process. They would not budge at all and wouldn't add the SSL for free, even though nothing was ever mentioned about the difference in accepting the business email as well. I also never received a call or message back from my advisor/consultant that was assigned to my account. Pros The price point is decent and I haven't had many issues with connectivity and emails going through. Cons The customer service is definitely not customer centric and speaking with management or even getting their email is basically obsolete. Pros Mail.com seems no-frills at first blush but when you get into it you find it has an offfice suite, template builder, alias addresses, avatar, cloud storage and more. It has a folder option which allows you to organize your documents accordingly plus helpful blogs concerning email etiquette and suuggestions on email security. Not to mention a premium plan. All in all there is much more to mail.com than just mail.com. Cons There is a recurring difficulty with login; twice a year or 18 months, my password suddenly is invalid and the recovery process is more difficult than it should be. And the email home page is formatted unlike the standard emails (Outlook, Gmail e,g,) so locating options like Delete and Move To can be disconcerting if you do not use it frequently. Some features are basic - the font options, uploading images - so it is not for stylish mailers. It's not just chat, but phone-based. The best part is that their support is based in the USA. Everyone I have spoken to is easy to understand and native English speakers. Cons I've never seen a mail service provider that oesn't let someone sign-up because they live in a specific country. I live in Pakistan, and they give me this message whenever I try to log in or sign-up "We’re very sorry – we can’t sign you up Your IP address suggests you are trying to sign up in a country where mail.com registration is no longer possible. From the registration of various domain names to adding web space, designing and uploading a website for our cafe restaurant. Outsourcing can be very expensive but the use of the ‘My Website Designer’ it makes it far more cost effective with a young, growing business like ours. Stay far far away from them!!!!! Cons I seriously cannot say enough bad things about this company. First of all, their customer service is awful. Laugh at me when I told them I was having trouble accessing my website. They mocked me about not being able to access my site on my mobile phone, implying I was old. I'm in my late 20s. The SSL certificate is a joke. My site was hacked and had pornographic and remind you this is a crafting law so imagine how many followers and viewers I lost. Then, when I tried to cancel and turn off auto renew it "didn't take" and now I have a $200 bill for a year of hosting I won't use.
