I’ve used CVS for many years now and hardly ever have a complaint. Pros I like the ease of using the site and program. Lately, too many sites make it difficult to navigate, where this is easier with no confusion. Cons I sometimes have issues loading the site. It tends to restart or freeze. We wore 5 developers whom time per time overwrite code of one another for it has a bad history interface. Pros It was probably the first of its kind I used therefore I was marveled about it. I simply loved to see a better code backup process. Cons It has no modern branch concept and whenever you need to send a code proposal you need to use code patches and write a report on how to properly apply the patch. Now that things are a lot more complex SVN and GIT make more sense. My organization has fully switched over and is now a GIT house. Cons It ran its course. Cons To work requires a connection to the server, you can't do a commit without a server. Pros It was an improvement on RCS, taking revision control online. Cons As it was released in 1990, a successor, Git, took its place in the modern world.
