I’ve used CVS for many years now and hardly ever have a complaint. Pros I like the ease of using the site and program. Lately, too many sites make it difficult to navigate, where this is easier with no confusion. Cons I sometimes have issues loading the site. It tends to restart or freeze. We wore 5 developers whom time per time overwrite code of one another for it has a bad history interface. Pros It was probably the first of its kind I used therefore I was marveled about it. I simply loved to see a better code backup process. Cons It has no modern branch concept and whenever you need to send a code proposal you need to use code patches and write a report on how to properly apply the patch. Alternatives considered [Apache Subversion](https://www.capterra.com/p/177270/Apache-Subversion/) Reason for choosing CVS Subversion has a smaller user group at our region, fewer people wore using it by that time around my workplace. Software Engineer Insurance Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Cvs user turned SVN user turned GIT user" September 15, 2022 2.0 Used CVS as a precursor to SVN to manage commits across multiple projects Pros It was simple to use back in the day. Now that things are a lot more complex SVN and GIT make more sense. My organization has fully switched over and is now a GIT house. Cons It ran its course.
