Pros

We are very basic users. Time input by employees. Invoices input by me and payments input by me. The transition to TPS Cloud was very user friendly.

Cons

There are so many features that do not pertain to us. It would be helpful if I could just put as many e-mails and contacts within the Address tab of the client and not use contacts. I do not contact clients through TPS so this is not really a feature that is convenient for me.

I love TPS Cloud Axis because the information is there and updated in real time, I am able to track my work day and activities spent on each client.

Pros

I like the ability to see what my work flow is over the period of time and be able to move things around on a day to day basis and keep things that are important on the radar. I have the workflow tab as my default tab and I like it because it shows what needs to be done over the next few weeks and I can schedule my time accordingly.

Cons

TPS has a lot of different activities which are spread out around different areas on the site. I don't like it that there is no "dashboard" that shows an overall summary - profitability, Billable time vs non billable time, which files are not worked on, files in progress, tasks to do this week, tasks that need documents, tasks waiting for signature and payment. I need to go in to specifically look for each item which is somewhat time consuming if I need to do this every day. It would be nice to have a customizable dashboard.

TPS is reasonably priced solution for invoicing. However, when I asked for help from support, I was advised to look for another practice management software. Obviously, they have no interest in listening to customer issues so I would steer clear of this software.

Pros

Invoicing is easy to use and cloud based.

Cons

The software is ultimately not going to be useful for us. Here are some of my pain points. 1) I was looking for email integration and tracking using our firm domain for emails. Emailing clients invoices directly from the software would have been a bonus. However, TPS email processes use a @tpssoftware.net domain for email generation. Perhaps they will change this in the future. 2) TPS is a time and billing software. We wanted TPS to track time and expenses for our employees. TPS ignores non chargeable expenses. So if you are looking for a single point of entry for employees to use for time and expense reimbursements, this software is not your solution. 3) Reporting is frustrating. I have spent MORE time defining reports in TPS than I did with my old system. TPS has templated reports, however the templates are not very helpful and don't define the time frame. You must select the beginning and ending time frame for each and every report that you run whether it is month end, ytd or annual reporting. There are NO predefined reporting periods. You MUST do this for each report too. So you can't first define a time range and have it apply to several reports. You literally have to define the time range for each report. If you want to run 20 reports every month for management analysis, I think you could spend all day running the reports. 4) Onboarding was painful. I wanted invoice history to be imported into the system. However, TPS does not offer this feature. I had to manually add the prior invoices into the software. 5) I asked for assistance from customer support on my reporting and expense recordkeeping issues, and support replied back to me that I am the first person of 3000 plus CPA firms that complained about TPS reporting issues and suggested that I look at other practice management software and specifically named Mango, Canopy, Karbon, iFirm, Tax Dome, or Firm360.

Reason for choosing TPS Cloud Axis

I did a fairly substantial amount of research for a cloud based solution. TPS seemed to check the boxes. However, after using the product after one year, the product really is a basic product that I feel I was oversold on the capabilities of the system.

Thank you Kevin, for taking the time to share your thoughts on our software. Our Ultimate plan offers full integration with Outlook 365, ensuring seamless email communication via your work email. Emails sent through TPS should appear in your Outlook Sent Folder. TPS diligently records all employee and non-employee expenses for a client. However, it's not designed to recognize specific instances like an employee buying pizza for the office and seeking reimbursement. There are many period specific reports and many that ask for a time frame where a start/end date is required. Our software provides a range of period-specific reports, some requiring a designated time frame. Periods are defined in the Firm setup and are crucial for certain period-sensitive reporting. TPS typically does not import client history, except for clients transitioning from our LAN "On-Premise" version. Importing client historical data is uncommon in the industry.

Cons

Mouse usage. It would be faster if there were more hot keys when updating workflow. The save button and next the OK button, if hot keys were made for them it would speed up the process.

### "TPS is a Helpful Tool"

Pros

This program is a great tool that allows for analysis for time spent, costs to clients and time management. If you are unsure of anything, there are several videos and the support staff is truly exceptional.

Cons

The system has so many different features. If you are scared to push buttons, it can be a little overwhelming but ultimately the support staff and helpful videos are always a great source of information. Being able to import fees that our firms receives from outside sources via an excel spreadsheet that are passed along to our clients would be a great upgrade.

### "TPS Axis is a Great Addition to Our Firm Management"

We used the TPS Desktop/On Premise software on a file server for 3-4 years and converted to TPS Axis in January 2021. Our staff members think Axis is much easier to use than the Desktop version of TPS was. It has been a wonderful change and I recommend TPS all the time.

Pros

We are primarily using TPS Axis for tracking employee time for payroll and to track client billable hours for invoicing. Our employees love that Axis is cloud-based, so staff can enter their time remotely. We also really like that the client work time sorts by different types of work and that each employee can have multiple billing rates for different types for their work. The reports that I use are easy to read. The conversion from the old version of TPS toTPS Axis was seamless and all of our old data was migrated into Axis in about 2 weeks. It's a great value for the price. I would love it if TPS becomes full-bodied practice management software.

Cons

The report names are confusing because they are all so similar. I have a hard time getting the reports I want, so just use a few that I understand. Giving each of the reports a more unique name would add a huge amount of value for me because I could use the software at a much greater level.

Initially, a software consultant found the original version of TPS after doing research. I was so glad he did.

### "TPS - A Must for Small Accounting Firms!"

Pros

Time entry for employees is easy, straightforward and requires very little time. The ability to live-track time has improved time tracking compliance. Billing functionality has transformed how and when we bill. Being able to simply and quickly bill directly from TPS has taken out a lot of manual time calculation and manual billing compilation. For the first time we're actually able to start interim billing our clients, which they actually greatly appreciate as bills are timely for work performed and doesn't end up with one large bill for the year after year end.

Cons

The workflow management could be easier to use, I'm not quite sure how but presently the need to manually click on each individual client in the calendar and select "Done" can be quite cumbersome. As a result we haven't used this functionality yet.

We have been using TPS Cloud Axis for approximately 2 years, after using the non-cloud version for 3 years prior. It has been a tremendous asset to our practice and has helped immeasurably. The fact that is a cloud-based system allows us to you it anywhere, which is huge! We didn't realize how much we were underbilling our clients until we were introduced to TPS.

Pros

Time tracking for our accountants is of the utmost importance. TPS Cloud Axis has been a lifesaving tool and helps us bill our clients appropriately.

Cons

I can't really come up with any cons! We love it!

It was recommended to us by another accounting practice. We did look at other companies and felt that TPS was the most user-friendly option and it had everything we needed.

Many glitches, Quarterly Automatic Billing does not work. Reports need to be simplified, very hard to find information that is needed, seeing what an invoice is for without having to open the invoice or type descriptions every time would be more convenient.

Ease in which time is entered and posted. Clients are easy to search and edit if required.

Cons

That if you want to see a past invoice, it must be downloaded to computer first. Should just automatically open in a PDF without having to save it...then find it and delete it when not required anymore.

Our apologies on the need to download documents/invoices. Displaying documents directly within a web-based program can sometimes lead to performance issues, especially for large or complex documents. Overall downloading documents provides users with flexibility, better performance, enhanced security, and compatibility with their preferred applications, contributing to an improved overall user experience. However, browsers like chrome allow you to attach a browser extension that will auto open pdf files.

I combine TPS with QuickBooks for my billing and invoicing functions and use TPS to monitor my employees time usage. It has been very helpful and the support has been very quick to respond and assist with any problems.

Pros

I am able to track the time of five or six employees across my customer base of about 900 clients and their different projects. This is very helpful in invoicing and making sure jobs are profitable and is also a good training tool for employees and time management.

Cons

The negatives about TPS are my own fault as I need to delegate more to employees and load more data to make this program more functional and helpful to me.

Pros

I have used both the desktop and cloud version, and using the cloud is more convenient, and there are less problems with lag and slow down than with the desktop version.

Cons

The cloud version is missing some of the easy tabbing and quality of life features I remember from the desktop version.Also being dependent on the internet connection to use the cloud version is a downside.

TPS Cloud Axis doesn't crash like the desktop version used to do. Ease of access from a web browser is a bonus!

Pros

Ease of use. Even if you are stuck or can't find anything, YouTube videos are easily accessible. The help support email is quick to respond as well.

Cons

Can't merge clients. I feel like that feature would help avoid duplication.

Pros

After many years of using the on premise version, we switched to cloud axis at the end of last year. The transition was easy and the customer support is phenomenal - by far the best of any program we use. They listen to my feedback and promptly act on it whenever possible. Cloud Axis has simplified my job with its functionality and ease of use.

Cons

I do sometimes find it difficult to locate the report that best suits my particular need.

We had begun the transition to Jobs and Billing in iFirm as we were switching our tax software to iFirm Taxprep and found the transition extremely cumbersome. We were already familiar with TPS as we had been using it since 2009 and decided to upgrade to the cloud version.

Pros

As an employee, I use the Workflow portion of TPS the most, and it is such a useful tool! I love that we can update the status of a file as well as indicate notes in the same area. It keeps everything in one place and lets me quickly review where my current workload sits. I also really enjoy being able to reassign the task to another team member as needed for reviewing or delegating.

Cons

Not really a con, but it took me a few months to really familiarize myself with the platform and use it at its full potential. There are so many different features that it takes a while to get used to using all of them. However I did like that there were videos available under most functions to get a better understanding of how to use each section.

It is perfect for our firm to track employee time and client projects. We used the desktop version for many years before changing over to the cloud version. It has been mostly smooth, plus there are many features that are new or updated. My favorite is their customer service team. I have worked with \[sensitive content hidden\] on many little tweaks and always come away with a simple solution in a timely fashion.

Pros

I like that it is easy to use. Most things are very intuitive and require very little effort to learn or update.

Cons

There isn't much that doesn't work with TPS. Our changeover wasn't too cumbersome. I'd say most items that are frustrating end up being user error.

overall - good and gets the job done

Pros

easy to enter time and easy to invoice and track billing and payments

Cons

I wish it had a built in payment system with QuickBooks and Drake or it's own payment function. The reporting can be tricky sometimes. I don't like that you must open/close period just to delete some payments.

Thanks for your feedback! It's good to learn that you've found our time entry process and invoicing system to be user-friendly and straightforward. You can enter payments manually into TPS Axis but we don't do online payments. For these we sync with Clover Connect,Paypal, Stripe, CPA Charge, Payclix & QBO for QuickBooks pay. We will reach out to you explain in detail. Periods are made to secure information, avoiding anyone to delete, reverse payments, or invoices, as they will need permission to reverse the period back. When you closed your period we suggest a few reports to be run, to make sure all Wip, A/R are correct,

This has been a breath of fresh air after our last program that overpromised and under delivered. While we are still in the "moving in phase" we are very pleased with all that TPS Cloud can do and are excited to keep learning how it can make our work easier.

Pros

Integration has been very smooth, easy for staff adapt to, imbedded tutorial videos very helpful. Overall we have been very pleased with the variety of components and logical flow of TPS Cloud. Reports were a priority and this was one of the few programs that offered such a wide variety of reports, not just screen view analytics.

Cons

Was worried that there were not many reviews on it, but very pleased that we made the jump.

Reason for choosing TPS Cloud Axis

We had previous experience with TPS desktop and were excited to see all of the upgrades that were available in TPS Cloud.

Switched from

### "we use the desktop version so some of this does not apply"

We are able to track time spent to our corporate clients easily but it is more difficult with T1s that take a very short time and as a result we don't have a clear indication of how much or how little time it took to do one of these returns.'We set a half hour as the minimum to track to an individual and all others goes to a general "taxpayer account"

Pros

Time, activity and expense tracking are all we are using it for at the current time. We are an old group and not all are tech savvy and struggle with these few functions.

Cons

Finding a client is often difficult in the data base and duplicates are difficult to remove.

To easily find a client in the client section you may just enter the name of the client you are looking for in the Full name search field. Also at the very top you will see a drop down box called: Active/Inactive. This should help sort down to the clients you are looking for!

### "Great Practice Management Tool"

Pros

We regularly use the workflow management, invoicing and collection module. We have also started using sending emails via TPS

Cons

TPS is still a young company a young product so there are always small glitches that requires you to call and get answers for, overall, it works well. Great tool for any CPA firm.
