Producer/Host Entertainment Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "A Great Service for Scheduling Your Videos That Are Hosted Elsewhere" January 28, 2023 5.0 They have wonderful customer service - when I e-mail them, I usually hear back within 12 hours and they have always been very accommodating for my needs. Pros The scheduling software Viloud provides is top notch. Occasionally there is a minor glitch when updating, but a simple reset/reboot takes care of that issue. The Scheduler is the main function of Viloud that I use. They also have an excellent player that can be embedded anywhere and the player can be used for one video or as a "tv screen" to embed a full 24/7 TV channel controlled by their Scheduler. Cons Depending on your plan, there is limited storage space available and the bandwidth they provide (also depending on the plan) is used up very quickly if you host your videos with Viloud. You are better off storing the videos on another service like Vimeo or Adilo because Viloud allows importing from any other video host provided you give them an m3u8 link. In this regard, they act merely as a middleman so you can use their excellent scheduling software to program 24/7 television channels or you can use their built-in player (also excellent) to embed one or more videos on web sites. Reason for choosing Viloud Every other service I looked at was as expensive or more expensive than Dacast because they were all live-streaming services that offered scheduling as a secondary function and they were all more expensive than Dacast. I only needed scheduling capabilities, which is why I went with Viloud. Switched from [Dacast](https://www.capterra.com/p/122710/DaCast-Web-Conferencing/) I used to live stream with Dacast but once I stopped doing that, it became cost prohibitive to keep Dacast as a scheduler for my already-stored video files. Viloud was about half as much for this purpose. I still use Dacast to stream my existing PPV files that were once streamed live with them - that is still cost effective for me, but Viloud costs much less for my scheduling purposes. This is a great tool for businesses to start their own TV channel with their own domain. It does not require technical knowledge, to handle the management panel to organize content and create channels. The Customer Service Support Team is always at our disposal. Cons One of the things that should be improved is the menu on our viloud website, and also the possibility of moving the channels that we have included in the section of our websites. The customer service is lackluster. It will take them days at a time to get back to you which is frustrating if you are waiting on a question concerning a feature or how to do something. In addition to this i think they should provide in-depth tutorial showcasing how to use some of their best features like the the ability to upload your items on Roku and other third party platforms. It took a lot of research for me to figure this out and it honestly should have not been that way. Pros Viloud is a content-sharing platform to which you can upload your own videos. You have the ability to make your own videos and upload them, with no need to worry about them being flagged or removed. Viloud also has the option to upload your content to the Roku, Apple TV, or Fire TV, allowing you to reach a whole new audience. Cons One of the things i did not like about Viloud is the interface of airing your content. I wish they allowed you to maybe specify when you wish it to air instead of drag and dropping it in the linear line. If you want your content to air at 6:45pm you have to scroll and drop it in the linear line during this time. Review Source KK Ken K. December 5, 2021 5.0 Overall, we're happy we made the purchase. We believe it will help us make money in the future so we look at it as one of the investments to help us reach our financial goals. Pros We've tried several products in this space but kept going back to the idea of Viloud. The others were too complicated/clunky, unfinished, buggy, or expensive. Viloud was THE EASIEST way for us to start our own video service. It's complete. It's clean, and it is a dream come true. Who would have thought 'owning' an online TV station would be attainable for a reasonable price. We love Viloud and can't wait to see what the team plans on doing next. Viloud is highly recommended because it is SO easy and well put together. Cons They could offer more storage space as some of their competitors do. However, they have been very transparent about why they do not. As well, in this case, it is about quality. The QUALITY wins, and we don't want the quality compromised (or we all lose). The alternative is to host it on a platform like YT (and bring it to Viloud). That then offers you 'unlimited.' Reason for choosing Viloud Viloud is ready for primetime RIGHT now, not later. But once we did start we did realize the big potential of this software, and no way we can stop now. Pros Viloud allows you to create your own 24hrs TV channel, in the most simple way. Pre-recorded videos, live-streams, all in your channel, for your audience. You can brand it with your name and it's really simple to start using it. Cons Once you start managing a big quantity of videos, it starts being a bit harder to organize. Specially if you are running more than one channel, which is our case. I am not a techie and had some apprehensions as I imagined that it would take alot to get Viloud up and running. I was wrong. In a few brief steps, I had already created my first channel using one of my google playlists. I also really like the seamless interation with other platforms like my website and also tools like Restream. Being able to leveraging livestreaming is important and I like that I can stream to one of the Vilud channels or to wherever my channel is connected to. Viloud allows me to be versatile with my digital needs. I love that we have the option of a linear and on-demand channels. Some experiences benefit from a set time and viewing in specific order and others require more flexibility. Having the option to create as I see fit is really helpful. This also works with the fact that I can create multiple domains for different experiences. So for my global event, I may want a linear stream for that day, but for some of my other brands, I may wish to keep it on demand. I also really like the simplicity of the channel pages that you can create with Viloud and that you can also use your own domain. Cons I do not love the limits that are placed on storage and views, but i understand that costs run high and in order to stay in business, you have to be mindful of such matters. I also would love the Viloud pages to have more functionality. I love the simplicity, but would love the ability to embed elements on the page itself. Review Source NB Natashia B. February 3, 2023 5.0 I needed an application that can convert my broadcast materials to various streaming and mobile platforms with as much ease as possible. I'm not a developer. I'm not a coder. I'm someone with a vision and I needed a company that could help me bring this vision to fruition. ViLoud makes me feel supported and as if they are in this fight with me to succeed. Pros The thing I like most about the software is its ease of use and then when you do have a question, the customer service is terrific. They answer me quickly and they give me real, honest answers. Unlike other companies, they help you solve problems, they don't just tell you what you can and can't do. They have a certain entrepreneurial spirit of wanting to always do the right thing for their customers that I find refreshing and I'm very appreciative. Cons There is nothing I don’t like about ViLoud, however two things I found odd, is not being able to see templates of how the integration will look on certain mobile apps, streaming apps etc. When designing you’d need to know how the integration of how your material looks in certain displays and not having this option readily available slows down the design process for the best possible user experience. I wish they had more tutorials. Other than that, it’s a great application. I am satisfied with my decision to finally buy it. It already increased the reach of my company noticeably! Pros The UX is very clear, everything is very easy! Previously, I thought that it can't be so easy to stream your live channel. But actually it is. In just 5 minutes, I could start to stream my first video. This is really awesome. Can recommend it for anyone having a use-case for it! The support is really helpful, too. All in all, a great product delivering what it is built for! Cons Pretty hard to tell anything I don't like. Pros I like that it's relatively easy to manage. There were a couple of hiccups regarding working around my VPN to upload the videos and errors playing them on the website they offer you, but they're customer support was good in providing answers and resolving the issues within a business day. They also offer channel management in that you can host several channels depending on the plan you choose and you can configure them to play on-demand or linearly as if you were watching news network. This is an interesting feature for those that want to deliver video segments like an episodic tv show. They'll also support you linking to your existing Youtube videos if you want to do that. Haven't tried live-streaming with it yet, but it has a wealth of video management features similar to hosting on Youtube. So if your focus is on using a video platform you can control for marketing your services (as opposed to building a following), Viloud could be a good option for you. Cons Not liking that I have to turn off my VPN to upload videos. I really think that's something they should address as I don't have this issue with Youtube.
