The mulitple functionalities show great value for money. Pros Acronis Cyber backup has easy initial setup and many agents for integrating various platforms and operating systems. It can backup files, databases and the entire virtual machines. Cons The cloud backup feature is limited to Acronis Cloud, and if would be nice to see other Cloud providers platforms , be available to use. Overall does a good job at backups of individual desktops. Cons Limited to desktop backup. Not a good piece of software in a VM environment. Images can be very large and does not offer compression. February 12, 2018 4.0 Pros Acronis is very good for what it does -- it takes backups quickly; the backups are easy to manage, and it offers all of the basic features you'd expect if you came from a legacy solution like BackupExec. Cons Sometimes... it just acts weird. I've had to have support come in and run scripts against our backup database several times in the last few years, because it just gets in a weird funk (for example, showing "next start" for some backups as being in the past, or perpetually showing a task as "running" even though it completed weeks ago. Switched from Symantec Ghost and it was a very good move Pros We have been using this for awhile now and love it's use and that it's very user friendly. We backup and restore all of our images using Acronis and haven't been disappointed Cons Switched from Symantec Ghost and haven't found any cons to this software. It's a great tool if you know how to do stuffs using it. Pros The thing I love most is the cross platform support of Acronis Backup. Also what it has to offer is incredible. Backup process is very quick and offers lot of options to select from. Cons Setup and initial process could be somewhat complex. Also you may need to get some idea on virtual servers before proceed. No issues getting our workstations backing up to our various backup plans for the first year. We've been struggling to get our devices backing up constantly for several months. Customer support has been unable to solve our error messages. Pros The ability to see the device's last connection and IP address helps me determine whether their backup plan needs to be switched for a day or so. We have a lot of users that move from site to site. Cons Constant issues with registering the deployed agents, applying backup plans and using our licenses. It offers a ton of features and works better than any of the other backup software I've used over the years. Cons It can be difficult deciding what version of the software you might need. You might be tempted to go for the advanced version (more expensive) of the software but most people will likely be fine getting the standard version that still has a ton of awesome features. The fact that incomplete backups can resume from where they left off, and i have the option of target locations to do backups Cons Initially the software upgrades can take quite long or not complete at all. Apps can always be installed, but imagine losing all precious family photos and videos. Pros What I like most about this software is the capability to make hot backup. Not long ago, I had problems with my laptop and I had to send it to the manufacturer and since I had Acronis backup I was able to restore my data and apps after I got my laptop back. This software will save a lot of trouble and money in case something goes wrong with laptop/PC. Cons Sometimes, when doing cold backup this software does not recognize my external hard drive. Online Marketing Manager Computer Software Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Good imaging backup" April 17, 2019 4.0 I couldn't find a replacement for Acronis (so far) and I've tested several other imaging apps - while there are some that get close (Macrium), still Acronis rules in this field. Pros Acronis Backup allows aside the regular file/folder based backups also imaging. Basically you can create a "clone" of your entire hard drive and restore it in case something goes wrong. We also used this functionality to easily install the OS on multiple computers at once, instead of doing it one-by-one. Basically you install and configure one computer with everything you need, then you use Acronis to create an image disk and clone that onto the other computers. For file/folder backups there are other good alternatives, but for imaging Acronis is still the best choice. Cons Price is a bit steep, but if you need the full functionality then it's worth it. If you only need simple file/folder backups, even the included Windows Backup program will be enough. Review Source Kevin Y. Cons The initial backup of our two servers took several weeks. Acronis does not offer the option to do a physical backup and send it by carrier for the initial backup. Backup and restores are adequate" February 24, 2018 5.0 Fast system deploys. Able to image a system including OS state before tinkering for troubleshooting purposes. Restores are fast if using the boot disk. Pros It is easy to use and performs well if the underlying operating system is the right and supported versions. Using the created boot disk and using that to image and build systems (older version) was easy. Cons The newer interfaces are horrible. I understand trying to make it more idiot proof but hiding away features under a simplistic interface means advanced users have to really dig to find the tools needed. Seriously, I've tried to get end users to get this software and do their own backups but it doesn't do much more than the built-in backup utilities so it would be better if they focused on more advanced tech users as their customer base.
