The user experience is not as good as Zoom but is good for basics. Cons If you call in with your phone and mute it, while having the webex meeting on your computer muted, you will need to unmute both. Zoom consolidates the mute into just a single mute feature. It is easy to setup, use and connect virtually with friends and colleagues. Cons It is less complex software I have ever found. Therefore, I didn't notice any difficulty while using this software. August 1, 2019 5.0 Overall it saves us a lot of time and money we spend in training remote users. Pros Cisco Webex is optimal solution for online meetings, where screen sharing is widely used. It is also easy to share content with external participants visa Webex. What i like the most about Webex is its meeting controls. Admin can mute all the participants to avoid unnecessary background voice, disable screen sharing feature and permit access of these features to any partaker. Has a lot of features, everyone knows about it so the software is usually installed when trying to reach people. While we had the software they shifted the licensing of the app and we didn't care for that as it became more expensive but no improvement. Pros It has a lot of features to enable and used to get meetings setup. There are plenty of options for hosts to control the meetings. Video quality is good and controls are pretty snappy. Cons It has too many options that get very cluttered in trying to find what you want. Running as a viewer gets annoying when you have things like a video window active for users but no way to shut it off to reclaim space. It has a public chatbox where we can share thoughts with every member in the meeting and a personal chatbox were we can text personally with any member.It also uses low data and works efficiently in weak signal areas.The audio and video doesn't buffer regularly and is very much clear even if there are low internet signals.Any number of participants can be added.Apart from the admin,the participant can also share their ideas or questions by messaging or by speaking .The video and the audio of every participant can be seen without interruption.It is almost like a virtual classroom .It is really helpful in this pandemic . Cons This is a very accessible target for hackers since the link and password can be shared using social networking platform.This platform has got bugs which can be fixed.It is not very secured platform as intruders can enter and misuse the information shared in the meetings.This app needs to become more secured in terms of privacy of information and participants. It also allows users to join in via Skype if they do not have a landline connection. Webex allows corporate meetings to be organized easily. It lets users send invites to people for the meeting by email with links. In summary, this is my first preference when organizing meetings with offsite office partners and clients. Pros Can share video and audio in a group conference call. The interface was unpleasant: another "minimalist experience," two buttons in a white field. But it's fine, and it mostly worked, though we couldn't share files. Then they changed our plan from up-to-220 attendees to 20-max. To our surprise. We've been unable to contact them over the past 36 hours, despite opening a case and making several other attempts. This is utterly unacceptable. So long, Webex. Pros It could do most of the things a webinar client is supposed to be able to do. Share screens, mostly. We couldn't really get file sharing to work. Cons They offer roughly zero customer support. We had 142 people signed up for a webinar, and only 20 could see the screen. It turns out that they'd changed our plan from 220 participants to 20 (!!!). We immediately tried to contact them. No chat on their website. We called, and couldn't get through to a "sales development advisor". We opened a case and were told they'd get back to us the next day. They didn't. Nor did they return emails over the next two days. After an hour on hold for a customer serv- I mean Sales Develpment Advisor - that was enough. Reason for choosing Webex Suite A mistake was made. Pros The screensharing function is almost second to none, it's easy to pass the screen and for me at least there's little lag time. The meetings are easy to setup via email and joining them has clear options on how you want to connect. I don't have to hunt for the "call in using computer" option, it's right there. Cons I wish more than just the person who organized the meeting could choose to record it. If that option is there for people attending the meeting it needs to be called out clearer. October 7, 2021 5.0 Pros Webex is so easy to use. Very little if any learning curve. Cons I'm not sure you could say it was a 'fault' or 'hardship' relating to the software. Our internet choices in this area are limited to basically one provider. I think the issue we have had with Webex is due to the internet stability. People who struggle with technology will most likely not find this easy to use. Simplicity is a beautiful thing and Cisco Webex seems to overthink/over-complicate video meetings. Pros The virtual backgrounds are a fun extra. The chat feature is helpful. As a user the functionality of the product is just okay. Several times I have tried to adjust settings while on a virtual call and have not been able to see the screen or determine how to undo the recent change. I ultimately had to log off the call and log back in. Cons The amount of space this takes to install seems excessive in comparison with the 4 other virtual platforms I’m required to use. January 5, 2021 5.0 The higher education program I work in is completely online (and was before the COVID19 Pandemic), so I utilized video conferencing a lot with my non-local adjunct faculty. Adding WebEx to our universal software helped me standardize my contact with not only the adjunct faculty in my program but other program faculty at the university. Pros What I like most about this software is the ease of use. When facilitating virtual trainings for adjunct faculty, I find it easy to send them the link to my personal room and not have to walk them through downloading and setting up an account. Also, I like the chat feature; it is especially helpful when working with a larger group and there are questions. When I facilitate training sessions, I like to have a co-host who moderates the chat and will jump in with questions or answer them in the chat as to not disrupt the flow of my presentation. Cons I have recently started using the breakout room feature and what I dislike is there is not the ability for each breakout room to record their session. If you want to share your screen or allow another user to take control. Record the session or control all of the features for all users. This application allows you to do so much. Cons This is not an easy application to become familiar with. If you are new to technology or want to quickly jump on a session with someone, this application does not make it easy to do so. If you want to use it effectively then you will need to invest time to getting familiar with the setup. Pros Can be used as an alternative to zoom for meetings; however, the functionality is a little harder to use compared to zoom. Cons Not as easy to use - harder to admit participants into a meeting, screen sharing, real-time chats, etc. Comparatively, Zoom is easier to use and have successfully done large meetings with no issues.
