The many useful features and integration with VOIP phone systems is top notch. Cons WebEx has all the core features you would expect from any online video conferencing service. Where WebEx falls short is that it does not integrate into the whole office package like MS Teams does, so it feels like a bolt on solution. The best thing I like is the security aspect. I think it is more secure than other such meeting platforms which gives me a lot of confidence in taking part in any kind of conversations online Cons The interface is a little weird I feel. Thus far, no other app offers online security like Webex does. In addition, Webex is great for working and collaborating remotely. Files can be shared easily, meetings can be done securely and messages could be exchanged as well. Cons What really irks me about Webex is that I usually resort to using the browser instead of the app. For some reason, the app does not work 100% of the time. I use Mac OS Catalina, not sure if that is a factor, but putting it here nonetheless for information. I do not prefer using meeting/videoconferencing programs in my browser. It also delays my joining of a meeting. I no longer go to the Webex only account. Our local Webex team, some excellent, had a couple people with inferior communication skills, so they were not pleasant to work with and were a barrier to getting correct info without having to ask over and over for it. Finding out we could skip them and go straight to the Webex administrators at our company is a good work-around. All similar software has it's oddities and I have found this one to be about equal to all the others- an 8 out of 10. Pros Webex is a very good web conferencing tool. They have improved the interface when you login and made the menus more intuitive over the past few years. The left side menus when you are logged in work well. You can start a meeting(immediate) or schedule a meeting to do a live recording and web capture. Your personal room location/URL never changes so this can be good when you want to give it out to secure group and meet there from time to time or at a minutes notice. The scheduled meetings are good because they allow more options like:adding a meeting agenda, automatic recording of meetings, secure or less secure joining by participants depending on what you wish, joining before host and registration or not. After recording you can click on the "recording" menu item on the left and see all Webex recordings. Cons Some features that seem available are not always. It partly depends on how it is set up through your company. Some options are not available or easy to access unless you are in classic view. There is a 24 hour plus turnaround for recordings to be processed and appear in menu-for me this is not an issue but it might be for some companies. There was a more advanced function someone in one of my groups wanted to use to compile data after a meeting, but found out that was something either not available to us or because we could not anticipate that need and ask for it ahead of time, it was not available. I really admire the solidity of the connection, I haven't experienced any freezing or crashes so far, and the technical support is quite good. I do like this tool, but with the pandemic and having to work 100% remote, this tool has definitely not been my go-to. Pros Cisco WebEx Meetings is a great conferencing tool. I use this for screen sharing with my team as well as with external clients. We've been able to collaborate and to eliminate any cause for confusion by visually being able to hash out exactly what needs to be done. The video feature also allows us to maintain rapport. Cons Cisco WebEx Meetings is a pretty good conferencing tool, but I think the built-in noise cancellation feature isn't good - there's a lot of interference which can be really annoying on calls when there's a lot of participants. We've had issues with audio also completely getting cut off and sometimes, the best way to solve this issue is to drop and join the call again. This is a fantastic product. My List: - Button-click when scheduling a meeting from within Outlook. Handles recurring meetings effortlessly, even changes to a single occurrence. Also handles moves to an existing meeting seamlessly, and totally in the background. - Automatically inserts out Web, and conference line info - Users can join via Web, then call in or use VOIP. - Mobile apps work well - Allows pausing what users see. - Recording and can sending to recipients, download and convert, etc. - Sharing others' screens so you can see them. You can request to drive their screen; great for remote training. - Whiteboard feature Support includes Phone, Online , Knowledge base, and Video Cons \- I with the mobile app would know about any Webex meeting to which I've been invited, not just my own. As I mentioned above, the greatest benefit to me and my past employer was revenue and the prospects of more of it. Pros My first introduction to the world of video/web conferencing was with WebEx. At the time, I was an account manager for one of the top networking companies in the world. Quite frankly, my experience with WebEx made me a bit of a video conferencing snob. It really set the bar high for platforms I would later use in my own business. Anyway, the features I enjoyed most were the polling, document collaboration, Q&A and live video streaming... I worked 95% remote which means that all of my interactions with c-level executives (internal/external), mid-level management, resellers, distributors and end-users took place over WebEx. For sure, it helped to bridge the distance gaps. I have literally closed multi-million dollar deals over WebEx. Powerful! Cons I do not have a single negative thought about WebEx. Support Engineer II Computer Software Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Getting better but still changing features nearly every day" September 28, 2020 4.0 Our company uses Cisco Webex to both interact with customers in a support and services role, as well as internally for departmental or company-wide meeting. At one point, the product was very difficult to use as it was not very intuitive, with cryptic icons making things even more confusing. I have noticed over the past few months that the changes being made are for the better, morphing into more of a Zoom style application, as well as labeling being added to the icons I mentioned. It is still somewhat confusing for both sides, as there are things hidden when screen sharing is used. I am glad to see the improvements that have been made but it's still not the easiest product to use, especially with customers who are already frustrated with the software they are contacting us about. Pros Cisco Webex allows our support department to troubleshoot our company's software while speaking with them at the same time by screen sharing. Cons The Cisco Webex product features are always changing without warning. There is no consistency with the updates and in fact sometimes they happen in between uses in a single day.
