Senior Digital Analyst Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Solid Video Conferencing Software That's Easy to Use, Without a Lot of Bells and Whistles" July 25, 2018 4.0 Easy to use software for teleconferencing, videoconferencing, and screen-sharing Pros There is a lot to like about WebEx Meeting Center. It's very easy to use to set up your own meetings, as well as to join meetings that others have set up. Videoconferencing and screen-sharing are seamless. Most of the minor issues I've had have been solved by simply exiting the call and restarting. The interface is clean and simple, and you won't be bogged down by a ton of advanced features you probably weren't going to use anyway. Cons The biggest con is that connectivity issues are more common than they should be. Also, while it is possible to record a video for playback later, the recorded file is an obscure file type that will not work with common programs like VLC or Windows Media Player. Instead, you'll need to download a second program called Network Recording Player, which I found a bit annoying. The interface is a little outdated, but I hear that a completely redesigned version is going to be released soon (as of July 2018). Review Source PR Paul R. It is very easy to use, is reliable, and we have had no complaints with Webex. I highly recommend it! Pros The Webex platfoem is very easy to use, from creating a meeting, inviting people, and presenting. Most people are familiar with it, and there are phone options to listen in on a meeting. You can present by sharing your screen and the process is very easy. Cons I do not see any cons with the software, Webex is quite easy to use and after a few times you feel like an expert. August 28, 2021 2.0 The lesson was tested in class for about a week. It was also a great alternative for students familiar with Zoom, but in Singapore, where I live, the constant phenomenon was worse than other products, so I excluded it despite its price competition. However, it seems to have stabilized recently. Even so, learners who are familiar with Zoom do not want to switch to Webex. Pros We primarily use Zoom at school. The reason for this is that it is easy to use. This is also an advantage of Webex. Using the tool independently is what we mean by easy here. The class becomes difficult if the tool itself causes problems during class. Cons In testing a number of products, there was frequent stuttering. It's unclear what the situation is like in other regions, but even though the internet is fairly good, the interruption was recognized as an obstacle, so it was eventually excluded from the final purchase. This is very good medium of connecting with colleagues and some time friends who are not in same geography. We can share each other screen and give controls. Pros My organisation use Cisco Webex as meeting tool. Overall i find it very good and handy. Connectivity , cloud storage of recordings, sharing and voice clarity these are the things which i like the most. Overall it provided reliable way for connecting to anyone from anywhere. Either on desktop,laptop or mobile devices. I like these features very much. Cons Some time auto login does not work, only a host can do a recording, which i feel a restriction. After update of webex , sometime it creates problem it reconnecting. For which sometime i need to go to system admin. December 13, 2017 5.0 We can communicate with our entire team instantly from many locations. Pros Spark allows us to deal with problems in real time across long distances. I really like the desktop app as well as the mobile app. I like being able to tag specific people in posts I create and I like being able to create specific group to chat in. Of the three communication software programs we use (ShoreTel, Slack, and Spark) spark is easily my favorite. It is the easiest to use and has the best UI. Cons There's nothing a completely hate about the software. It works very well and I have not real complaints. The only down side to me is that you can do the same things with many other products including on free social media sites. Overall I think it is worth it to have a specific tool to use at your work site that you pay for. I would recommend if you are at a large company making sure you all get on one software program to communicate. Right now I am using at least three depending on who I am communicating with and it's very difficult. Pros I have been using Webex (formerly Socio) for over a year and a half.  Now I'm very familiar with most of its capabilities, but when I started to use the platform or when I find something new, someone from the Webex help desk is always ready and willing to help me.  They are easy to communicate with, easy to contact, and give detailed instructional help.  Cons The only issue we have run into is when an attendee that has been to several of our events, uses different emails to register. Webex tends to remember the last email they used, and then tell the attendee they are not registered. I wish there was a way for the attendee to change the email they registered with, or see what email Webex has defaulted to. It can connect not only two but multiple individuals. It means it is best for group conversations. Actually it has a large group support. You have presentation, screen sharing facilities in Webex. Screen sharing is very effective in presentations and trainings. It has the ability to record the important sessions. So that no one would miss the meeting although they could not join. You can schedule and share meetings. Also it is easy to use because the UI is simple. You can Mute the call in your side if you have something to discuss within the meeting time. You can view the participants. So no one would miss. Also it shows which user is speaking. Cons It takes some time to prepare for the meeting. This has made working from home successful, and positive. Our Employee attendance has improved with the ability to work from home. But none of that would be possible without Webex creating a channel for positive communication and collaboration. Webex has also made sharing, locating, and disseminating information quickly, and efficiently. This in turn has helped our customer focus efforts to improve in the quality of communication and information we provide to them. Pros My team have moved from an office environment to working from home. Communication has become absolutely essential to our team. Webex has facilitated inclusion, empowerment, integrity, teamwork, and accountability. In order to achieve all of these benefits, we have utilized aspects of Webex for routine and daily real time chat. We have also benefitted using the program for meeting space. I attribute our success, and continued positive path moving forward to our utilization of Webex. Without it, our communication would become more difficult, break down, and cause negative work flow. Cons The Internet Browser version of Webex doesn't allow editing. With that version, it is not possible to edit regular communication. I find that if I discover an error, or need to change information I send out, I have to delete it. The same is similar with the meeting space. In addition, we use the locke dmeeting with waiting room when we hold parent teacher conferences. This keeps parents form joining another families meeting. Cons It took me a bit to get used to the way it operated. I also only had a brief training, so it may have been easier for me to navigate with full training.
