It does what it says it does, and I have used it successfully before for smaller meetings and team discussions. The easiness to create and manage conferences are very good. But I have lot of problems not with the tool, but with the usability of the tool. A high percentage of the conferences failed because customers can't connect. Also support is painful. More than 3 days to have an answer. More than two months following an invoicing issue without solution. Pros All the features that has to make easier to ceate a new meeting from the same interface. No need to go to other place to send the invitation to the customers. Tha quality of the audio and video of the conferences are very good even in complicated situations Cons It is complicated for the non IT experts to completely connect to the conference. Sales Wholesale Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Getting past its prime" October 12, 2020 3.0 I would say that when I started doing meetings and presenting webinars Webex was really inevitable. But since other solutions hit the market Webex is becoming increasingly less appealing. It seems that they are not innovating at all and not even bothering to try to mend the gap with the other software. There is one CON I did speak about which has been bugging me for quite some time now: the Outlook integration. At first, you could do pretty much everything with the widget to set up a meeting - and THAT was REALLY useful - but now 1 time out of 2 the invite is not properly sent. You do not get any confirmation that the other party accepted it ... and to it of ... the widget is not the same weither you install it on a computer or another. Pros If you need a video conferencing software, then Webex will be one option to consider. Easy to set up. User can either use an app or an in-browser connection to attend the meeting - a feature that can sometimes be useful. Cons The interface is now outdated. Pretty much every other conference software on the market allow you to do much more than Webex does. Connectivity is real issue for me. When I am at work, with a 1Gb/s synchornous fiber optics connection it does a decent job at best, but suffers from almost constant latency and sometimes downright webcam connection issues. And when I want to use it at home my 5Mb/s connection is just not good enough for me to even bother lauching the software - I have not had this issue with either Zoom of GoToMeeting. The sound is most of the time really good, but when it goes haywire - more often than not during a lengthy meeting, you will not be able to restore it. I guess that this problem comes from the fact that the software takes so much RAM and processing power getting the comptuer to over-heat ( mostly on my laptop, a latest generation MacBook Pro running BootCamp. The features and functionality they offer and continue to develop will help add value to your event for attendees, organizers and sponsors. We were able to boost our attendance by almost 500% for our annual conference that is normally in person by leveraging the Socio platform and taking our event completely virtual. Pros Being able to easily use the system and understand how it works is something I always look for when implementing a new solution. The Socio platform is incredibly intuitive, allowing you to be creative without the complexities and turn your vision for the event into reality. Everything within the platform ecosystem links very well together and it is very clear that there was lot of time thinking about how this platform would make our events better, both for the organizers and the attendees. The user interface is sleek, modern and consistent through the entire platform making it easy to make changes and updates. In addition, the Socio team has continued to develop new features and functionality at light-speed and are staying ahead of the curve. Cons I would have liked to see a more robust reporting and analytics tool to review our event once it had finished, which I know that is something the Socio team is working on right now! Another area that I think could use some improvements is the ability to add videos and more customization to sponsor pages or even having one of the features be a landing page that allows you to add buttons, videos and other items. Because of this, you'll know exactly how your connections are doing at any given time. It's also convenient to be able to share a screen, make a phone call, or join a video conference while conversing with another person. Messages in chat can be "pinned" if you want to keep them close at hand. Pros Almost every day, I utilize WebEx for both internal and external check-ins at work. With a little practice, building a room (personal or client-facing) is a breeze on the platform. When I use WebEx to plan a meeting, I can readily view my coworkers' availability, thanks to WebEx’s connection with people's calendars during my meeting. The major operations (such as setting up a meeting and exchanging meeting details) are easy to use thanks to the straightforward UI, and I've had no problems with unexpected crashes. Cons A fast internet connection is required for the application's operation. In addition, when the user sends files via video call, the application takes a while. My daily routine is to analyze a model and share the results with meetings on Webex. I connect people at other of our facilities around the world via Webex. Pros: fast, almost no lag in visual & audio transaction, large groups can connect to a meeting room, sometimes I use my cell phone to connect and still connection quality is high. Cons: I think this is a con for microphone or room related problem but, when an attendee is in a real meeting room, his/her voice might be too low. Drawing tools in Webex application is another nice feature for engineering applications, to tell people a detail in drawing is a good solution. I don't have any idea related with prices of Cisco Webex. Pros No lag / delay in visual and audio transaction. Capable of connecting large groups of people. Available to use by cell phone with good connection quality. Cons Under some room conditions, voice might be too quiet. Amplification at such cases might be an alternative. I liked that it has multiple call features, so depending on my bandwidth I can call in by phone or by using my computer to call. The other two features that they do so well is the screen sharing/presenter mode and recording. I really like how if I am in a meeting an a coworker has some input or their own data or project to use as an example I can hand the reigns over to them and they can run the shop as long as they need to. Cons I think one of the biggest cons for me is that I only had access to this software, because of the company I was working for. Having moved on, I don't have access to it and have had to find low/no cost alternative. The alternatives do exist, but are not as easy to use and are not as robust. One other thing... with screen sharing... the screen is always so small. I wish there had been a feature that allowed me to use a magnifier so I could use my cursor to get a better look at different parts of their screen. This is particularly important to me because of all the spreadsheet work I did. Looking at a massive spreadsheet in a window on my already embarrassingly small laptop monitor is the worst. We also use it internally and have got very positive feedback from employees. Here everyone loves it's interface and likes what it can do. Pros A very nice communication tool where we can converse in dm or broadcast. The interface looks quiet easy to find controls. They are always ready to help you if you are stuck somewhere. The huge fanbase of Cisco has even made finding any solution easily. The smartest thing is that anyone can be presenter during a meeting in webex. A good amalgam of video and audio makes us feel like we are really surrounded by the people. Love this web conferencinh tool. Cons The price is very high for 25 people license. Other than that there are minor issues only.There are some features which can be included in it like muting all audio for new user if someone joins in mute conversation, it creates excessive slow behaviour if you are taking control which can be fast and recording feature is just average. Our success in deploying and launching these projects successfully is owed partly by our collaboration using the Cisco Webex Meeting. The convenience of seeing my teammates sharing my desktop/documents, give web/screen control to a participant in has improved the team experience across the board. It includes all basic meeting features, cloud calling features and all webinar features. In short its a fully functional web conferencing software. Pros Even having so much features in software its user interface is very user friendly. Few things I like most in the software are its Automatic transcript feature, onedrive and SharePoint integration which makes my work very easy. We'll definitely continue using it!! Pros My primary use with WebEx has been in the meetings portion. We use it because it's easy to use with a variety of clients. We always use it for sharing a presentation with the share screen feature, and the dial-in is usually pretty reliable as well and works for people wherever they are calling in from. The other nice thing about WebEx is that you can record meetings and go back to them if you need to – super helpful when note taking isn't the most reliable. Cons Some of its features throw me off. WebEx is a business software, and our primary use is to use it for calls and screen sharing. Why on earth do they automatically turn on the camera so when I start a call with the client, my face is front and center?! Seems like there should be a better setting for that. Phone call quality is average, but not great. Overall, it's a good solution but not a great one. Pros The advantage to WebEx is that most people know what it is and how to use it. It's easy to set up meetings and share screens with people outside your company without having to go through a learning curve with them before starting the meeting. Cons The software tends to make my browser twitchy when I'm running a meeting and sharing my screen. The reactions of the browser and windows get sluggish. For example, instead of clicking on a browser tab to selected it, when I'm using WebEx my computer tends to think I'm trying to grab and move that tab which results in multiple open windows that I did not intend. We use it regularly and we generally do not have complaints. Perhaps it is more focused to businesses so if you are in the online education business then it might not be the best to deal with students but definitely with other professionals accustomed to using it. Pros We have used Webex many years to communicate with clients, potential students, do online training and have online meetings. I think I can say without a doubt that is a very consistent and reliable tool and we would not change it for another one. The quality in audio and video is quite astonishing. We also use other Cisco products so this one just fits perfectly with all the other tools we work with. Cons Perhaps our biggest concern (as an entity rather than as an individual user) is the fact that it is not as reliable with Linux. We have used it with Mac OS and it is quite reliable there, but we have been thinking about changing some of our systems to Linux and we cannot seem to make that step because of the poor quality of service of Webex with Linux. I had the enterprise suite for five accounts which is still lower than a single account price of gotowebinar Cons Many could not join the webinar and it was a headache showing poor attendance.
