As a research scholar I used this platform tointeract with my professors and other research scholar during the pandemic. It provides excellent service and I would highly recommend everyone to use this platform for their virtual interactions. Pros This platform provides an excellent platform for video/audio conference. It is pretty easy to install and has one of the best user interface. One of the biggest plus points of webex is its seamless performace while accomodating a large number of attendees. Cons To be honest I found it amazing to work, though I have using the free version. July 9, 2018 5.0 Pros I have been using Webex since long time now, setting meeting, joining meeting through remote systems is very easy and convenient. I have also used android version of Webex meeting center, it works seemsless while travelling or working remotely. Screen sharing quality is excellent. Webex meeting cloud recording is exceptional too. Setting a webex meeting is just a click on microsoft outlook, it sets up the link to access, access phones, access codes, passwords etc... Meeting recording can be auto saved to cloud and intimated the link through a mail or message. Call quality does not go down even when 100+ attendee are present in call. Cons Though it's a very good tool but my company moved to Slack, Zoom and now Microsoft Teams, probably competitors application is not welcome any more. Need to make it bit more user friendly, new user need to spend more time knowing how it works. Sometime there is conflicts when remote user join from computer audio and phone audio. This is very good for sharing the screen, controlling someone's remote machine. Voice quality is also very good. Also chatting option while meeting is very useful. Primarily, the software is used for viewing or showing desktop to look real time into the user's actions which we use to look and document the actions done by user. I have also used Webex to install proprietary softwares remotely for my clients. At the same time, the tool can be used to troubleshoot the issues with such installations. A number of similar solutions have been launched in market in recent years but none of those was able to give close competition to Webex. Cons No cons in Webex. I think it is the market leader in that area.Recording option and quality of recording is very good too. Overall, this is very good tool and very much needed for business meetings. Pros I use a lot of Webex meetings and it is now integrated with MS outlook that scheduling a meeting is easy. It will create the necessary links and audio/video details automatically, makes it easy for end users. It have multiple options when we login to the account. The screen share is too good and effective and now the new version has designated sharing where the other windows are grayed out and only the intended window will share. Audio connect by automatic means is very good. . Cons Sudden drop off and login issues comes very often. However, there has been a lot of improvement from the past. But more easy of use is required when we have multiple participants. Host should be given more options for managing the meeting. Chat window within the Webex is not easy to use somehow which needs improvements. I like that you don't necessarily have to install heavy application to join a WebEx meeting, it let's you dial in meetings or gives you a call on your number and let's add customized name to participants. I feel that it very flexible in terms of calling in and video sharing while you are collaborating with teams. Very friendly interface and is easy to use right at the first attempt! Cons No major cons as such, but it would be great if there was a n option of changing meeting durations right while the meeting is going on. Pros At first, it appears easy to connect and get started, chatting with people, whether one-to-one or in a large group. WebEx contains minimal, but key features to facilitate real-time videoconferencing. Cons Those are the only positives. The system is worse than a barebones video conferencing application. Support is non-existent. Should one thing fail, expect the system to crash entirely. This could be a slight dip in the connection, switching in and on your webcam or inserting new USB connections. I have not experienced many technical difficulties during therapy sessions that are due to the software. There a few things that would improve my experience, but overall I am happy with the software. Pros I like the ability to screen share as well as share specific applications and files on my computer. I like that the students I work with can interact with the items I share through taking control of the mouse and keyboard or by adding annotations. Cons I wish there was a way to allow the students I work with to see their own video large on the screen. Webex makes it so they can see my video large, but for some activities they need to be able to see themselves more clearly. I also wish that there was an option to make the shapes either just an outline (the only choice currently) or filled in. I often want to cover certain things up on the screen during activities and am not able to do so easily. My company rarely ever hosts more than 40+ members per meeting, so the pricing plan we use is actually pretty affordable. It makes conferencing quite easy, and WebEx has very low system requirements so I've personally never saw an issue with running WebEx meetings on any computer. It's a good was for my team and I, spread out in multiple countries, to conduct scrum meetings or client conferences. Pros The UI and UX is quite intuitive. I feel like a few of the competing conferencing platforms out there have some really cluttered menu and designs. I like that I'm able to call in from a phone as well if my computer mic and speakers are occupied. I also like the ability to remote control, though there is a noticeable lag if both desktops aren't on strong connections. And the annotation feature is a great addition to have, I like to be able to incorporate my own notes/diagrams and take screenshots of the shared screen with these notes. Cons I feel like my audio is almost always tinnier/weaker on WebEx than any other conferencing platforms., especially when using any headphone speakers. Also, this is a bit of a nitpick but, going to full screen of a shared screen on a large monitor distorts the screen and turns a pretty high quality feed into standard definition. It's seamlessly integrated with Windows machines, and Mac, and clients on the other end almost never run into issues installing or running the meeting applications - which I find a sticking point to other less reputable brands, with Cisco behind this software, it's truly a powerhouse. Cons Overall, I don't have anything negative to say - each and every time it's used, which is daily, I continue to have a seamless experience. It has all the features of a standard video chat with the additional benefit of setting up meetings easily in conjunction with outlook. Can connect with your phone as well as the computer. Cons There are sometimes audio issues. Phone connections aren't always the best, and it slows down some meetings. Hard to see who is talking as it is delayed. Definitely some bugs. We also have clients all over the US. WebEx is an essential part of our unified communications strategy both internally and externally. I use it almost daily. Pros WebEx works from the web console, desktop app, Outlook plugin, dial bridge, from a number of hardware devices, and from the new teams app. It's cross-platform, and everyone knows about it. The ubiquitous access and name recognition make it a solid choice. Cons With Spark, and now teams, Cisco has fractured the WebEx platform landscape and it creates some confusion and when to use what application. That's the only reason I knocked down the "ease of use" rating. The software is super simple, love you get everyone on the same page and know what app to use when. If it does have one, I’m unaware of it. Pros I like that Webex can be integrated into Microsoft Outlook for easy scheduling. I also like that Webex allows hundreds of people to join the same virtual meeting. Cons I don’t like that the organizer needs to join the meeting in order to allow others to share his or her screen. Professionally, the organizer doesn’t always join and that shouldn’t prohibit people from sharing their screen. Also, I wish it was easier to see everyone’s face on screen. Pros Annotation, whiteboard functionality is amazing! There's no other way to do it! I also find it incredible helpful to "link" dial-in attendees with an attendee code so we know who's talking vs the competition which have only phone numbers. This is not at all helpful. The break out functionality is by far my favorite feature. Cons It's so expensive (though worth it), I find it hard to gain buy in from my organization's procurement team to switch from Google Hangouts or Join.Me. Review Source Enrrique P. Cons The cost of this tool is very high, perhaps the most expensive in the market, of course it is a top quality service, but your company must have a strong economic support to carry out the expense, in addition you require a very good internet connection to use it optimally. I also like that you don't have to login to anything to join one. Pros I've used quite a few video sharing softwares. The best thing about WebEx is it's outlook integration. I can quickly add a WebEx to my meeting and it generates the meeting. It's fantastic. I also find the video quality and audio better than many competitors. It's all I've used for years now. Cons When a meeting goes over the alotted time, it ends the WebEx even if you aren't done with the meeting. I'm not sure if thats a setting or not though. It is the best way to have meetings and collaborate on our projects. Pros \- Can share your screen easily - File attachments can be shared with other users - Chat feature is very good - Meetings can be recorded which is good for future reference. - Easy to connect through the web app or standalone app running on your pc or smartphone. - Can give or request control for other user's screen. - Easy to schedule, start or join meetings. Cons \- Lower pricing to compete with Zoom and Microsoft Teams. - Webex recordings were difficult to edit or convert. Sometimes the recordings don't share the content that was shared during the presentation. - Lags sometimes, especially when you are sharing the screen. - I hope they will increase the number of users and meeting time on the free plan to beat the competition.
