Too often the conferencing technology became the center point of important meetings which is never a good thing. We switched to Skype and we found the reliability we expected in their software. WebEx makes connecting and running a meeting very easy. I integrates with MSoutlook seamlessly so creating meetings is a snap Overall we are very happy with Webex. Pros The best thing about this software is that it works. So many competitors versions crash during the most important client meetings. User interface is inituative and easy to use. Very good in environments that have lots of firewalls and security. Cons They could work on meetings with video and multiple people. The chatting function and video calling worked perfectly for me and served all my needs. Pros We recently switched from Webex to slack at work, and I honestly miss and prefer webex. I loved that it was a one stop shop for everything- chatting, calls and meetings and it synced with our outlook calendars so we knew exactly when someone was in a meeting. Cons I think sometimes webex would freeze or people would have issues getting connected to meetings. I didn’t have this in my personal experience using webex, but I remember coworkers complaining about this. I didn’t like how it wasn’t so easy to turn yourself idle to appear offline. October 15, 2020 5.0 Benefits to using this software is that you can always send a private link to someone, say for example if your meeting is confidential, government information based, or HR related. In this time during CoVid it has proven to be a very effective tool for communication when in person face to face communication is not possible. I would highly recommend using Cisco Webex for all your video conferencing needs. Pros Ease of use for this software, it is easy to connect to people during meetings, whether they be for intelligence use, webinar based, or in general for everyday use during meetings. I love the voting feature, for example I was in a webinar and the moderator asked us to vote on a topic ranging from 1-5 and or from very likely to least likely, the results came in right away and we were able to view the results in the reading pane. Cons Audio quality sometimes lags. I wish there were other features such as the voting feature, something similar to getting feedback at the end of a conference call that would be max 2-3 questions long. I like being able to speak to my teammates and to see them while we are working at different locations or while I am working from home. We are also able to communicate with our customers which is so important. Pros I like the opportunity this software provides to interact "face to face" with my peers. I work with a team from all around the world so to be able to see them while we are in meetings is very valuable. Cons There are several glitches with this software. Occasionally the audio will not connect, the video will hang up while I am speaking from time to time. It is quick, easy and effective for internal and external stakeholders involved. Cons We've ran into numerous issues when we were hosting custom webinars through the event center. It's not exactly user friendly and we experienced many glitches throughout the year that was unique to the WebEx Support team and they were not able to replicate the incident and offer insight into what the issues are. Pros Lately I spend a lot of time in WebEx while we are all working remotely. It keeps us connected and able to have face to face meetings while working remotely. I use the share screen feature a lot and we've recorded some webinars in the events feature too. Cons It's a little bit clunky, and takes some time getting used to. Easy and reliable" June 13, 2018 5.0 Pros The setup process is simple and quick. If you don't already have the client you can either download it or just use the web client. This makes it easy for users that are behind very restrictive firewalls or do not have the ability to load software to their desktop. I also like the Call Me feature that allows for the WebEx servers to call you instead of need to place a call from a hotel or customer site. With Webex address one can easily setup meetings with several folks across and sometimes even outside the organization. The Webex addin for Microsoft Outlook is a very good plugin which allows to insert the webex address easily and also can have personal web rooms created on need basis. In Webex, one can easily record the meetings if the feature is enabled, generate the reports after the meeting. Track the meetings scheduled, join multiple meetings at the sametime. Cons Recently the webex has improved a lot, sometimes there will be issues with the Webex Microsoft addin which does not allow one to insert the webex address directly within outlook. Also, sometimes there are cases when even after starting the webex, the room is not opened or we see 'Notify Host' though webex is started. also, rarely there are little disturbances during the meetings. My overall experience with Webex is positive. Although some improvements can always be made. Pros An excellent tool for attending meetings online. The quality of audio and video is really good. The ability to control the shared screen feature by users is also a very improvement. The recording feature of the proceedings is also a very good feature. Cons For me, one of the cons is the mandatory presence of the host to start the proceedings, share screen, and record meetings. There is a mismatch in the available features in the app and web versions. Some of the features are not available in the web version. The user interface can be made more user friendly. Pros the best part is that it is pretty simple to use for almost everyone that also free. It can be used in any phone and laptops that also without even downloading a specified app. Cons it has its limitations if we get connect more that 200 participants at a time, it randomly kick out participants to make a space of limited participants. We also use Cisco Teams and Spark boards so we really have the full benefit of all of these things working together. There have been large strides towards getting these things cohesively together which has been great to see. But cost can certainly be a factor, especially if you aren't a partner/aren't reselling, etc. Pros Cisco money backing a tool that was already well defined bodes well for sharpening the features offered as well as increasing likelihood of integrations with other platforms. Cons Cisco is a double-sided coin.. Cost is likely to increase but so far no word on this. Website was somewhat outdated but this was recently remedied as well. The quality of voice and video has been focused a lot. I am using this product for almost one year and I have found that it's very simple to deploy and manage multiple meetings at a time. Cons On browser screen, while participating in a meeting every time a new dialogue box appears that redirects to another screen which is a bit annoying. We work in a scenario where team are located on different parts of the world and this tool make team collaboration seamless. The video conferencing call feature of this tool makes team feel they are in seating in same conference room. I like the recently added feature of sharing individual screen by presenter and allowing other users to provide control on the screen. There are many features like audio and video call recording really help team to work more efficiently.Features of joining the tool from mobile device has made life easier. I have been using this for a weekly meeting since mid-March when things shut down. It's served its purpose and it's allowed us the ability to have smooth meetings with members all over the East Coast. But I hope they make some more improvements to make it even more enjoyable. Pros It's easy to meet with a very large group of people. Not everyone's camera is visible at all times, but you can easily scroll around to see the other members. I like that it beeps when you mute or unmute your mike. This might seem like a very small thing, but it can be awkward to talk when you think you're muted or vice-versa! I like auditory confirmation that I have indeed pressed mute. It's easy to share screens. It's easy to create polls and see the results very quickly. I found it to be glitchy when we first started using it in March. Sometimes it wouldn't connect with my camera and sometimes I couldn't join meetings. But it hasn't been glitchy in several months. I feel like Cisco must have done some upgrades, which I really appreciate. Cons In comparing to Zoom and Teams, which I also use often, I think Webex does the worst at filtering out background noise. For one member of our meeting, we could even hear is fishtank in the background! Sometimes there is feedback, even though we're all in different locations. My husband is color blind and he can't easily see the difference between the symbol for mute (red) and unmute (green). He can see if he looks very carefully. But this could put him in an awkward situation! They should definitely take accessibility to color-blindness into account.
