September 11, 2021 1.0 As you can imagine due to everything I already mentioned, I hated the time I had to use this program, I would never use it again, just knowing that I had class on Webex left me in a bad mood. Pros I really struggle to find positive points about this program, I could mention that the meeting time is unlimited. Cons Let's see, the cost is extremely expensive, the creation of the account and the final adjustments before using the program are really confusing, the GUI is horrible. Once the account is made, when you going to sign in, the program gives to choose a "meeting link", which although it is not complicated, is still confusing. I wouldn't use ever again this program. By default it has a sound that alerts all participants when someone enters the meeting, this feature becomes so, so annoying in numerous meetings, cause it doesn't stop ringing for a few minutes (usually, at the beginning, when the participants are entering the meeting). Pros Video conferencing at its finest with anyone and everyone around the world. We use this everyday and anyone we use it with is able to get in just fine! Cons Sometimes it can be so difficult to hear people unless people are muted. I find myself having to mute and unmute myself during calls. Aside from some initial learning and installation issues, the system has functioned wonderfully for our purposes. Pros Easy login and access lets you run meetings, share screens, and share documents easily anywhere in the world. Single steady link means you can continue to use the same logins for recurring meetings or ad hoc meetings with distant colleagues or external partners. Cons Sometimes run into difficulties with opening and/or downloading required plugins on administrator restricted accounts or machines. Sometimes run into connection and sound quality issues. The deaktop assistant makes it that more easier to schedule calls. The seemless integration with Outlook is also praiseworthy. It definitely reduces the time taken to set up meetings. Pros The desktop add on that comes with the tool is awesome. The best in the category. Cons In older versions 'passing the ball' so other people could share was cumbersome. Cons It is a constantly evolving software and there are some small problems still to be resolved such as the playback of recordings and some compatibility features with Mac and Linux users. Cons What we liked least was: -The price. It can get pretty expensive. -The format for sharing media and meeting recordings is proprietary. The setup and controls pre-conference are easy to manage, the interface and audience participation options are clear, and most importantly -- access instructions are clearly sent via email to participants. There isn't any guessing for conference participants about their audio settings or video. It's wonderfully simple to host your own impromptu chat with a co-worker or remote team. Webex offers accommodates having a live transcriptionist for closed-captioning for those who are deaf. Cons Great for presentations and one to many style broadcasts. It's challenging for more collaborative web meetings with multiple video participants. Logging into a meeting takes longer with Webex than other meeting software. Meeting recordings are a bit cumbersome due to the file format, the tools to play the files, and conversion. Recordings are by default recorded in a proprietary format. The auto-transcript feature leaves something to be desired.
