You can run an instant meeting, just enter the email address of the participant You can schedule a meeting which sends a calendar invite to the participants you can share files or meeting files (recordings etc) and you also have a whiteboard you can use. This is with the free product. Cons The need to install either a temporary application or a Chrome extention. In this day and age you just want things to run through a browser. If i want to quickly invite a customer to a webex it's a right faff on if they need to wait 60 seconds while some software installs. Using its free plan, I was able to meet my two business goals: hire smart developers to maintain my website and get monthly feedback from my partner on how to further improve my e-commerce business. I appreciate the fact that Cisco Webex has integration with other workplace apps such as Microsoft Teams and Workplace by Facebook. So, I can be more productive by staying within those apps and at the same time having interview or business calls. Pros I needed a software to conduct online interviews so I could hire a new employee for my ecommerce business. Cisco Webex came in handy. I was able to clearly view and listen to the potential candidates when conducting job interviews. Scheduling the calls was easy too because I was able to email the candidates link to the virtual sessions. I was able to share my screen to show the candidates my e-commerce site and ask them questions on coding and analytics. I could record all interview sessions so I could review them later to pick the best candidate for the developer job. I also use Webex to engage with my business partner on a monthly basis. So, he can advice me on site content and optimization. Cons Cisco Webex consumes extensive RAM and is slow to set-up on a desktop computer. As more participants are added to a Webex call, performance doesn't scale accordingly and starts deteriorating with slow internet. When Webex call don't start normally, getting him from support is complicated because there is multiple teams one may get routed to. Cost of Webex is expensive for small businesses and individual users. Big corporations who have higher budgets can afford to pay for Webex but they have other more economical choices like Google Hangout which come packaged with other office tools. It's not blocked in parts of the world (as Skype is), and the meeting is usually able to start within 10 min. With other solutions we've sometimes had to cancel meeting completely, or revert to regular phone. Pros We use WebEx with external clients globally, and people are usually able to connect. It's never great video/sound quality, but at least they're either able to call in or connect - most of the time. Cons Did not work on ChromeOS last time I tried it. People sometimes struggle with connecting through PC, as they have to download a plugin. This seems to be changing, as they have a web-interface now. But, this did not work on ChromeOS. This means that I can schedule meetings just like I would regularly without Webex and it automatically puts a link to the Webex meeting for the invitees. Once in the meeting, it is easy to collaborate with those near and far. Cons What I like least about Cisco Webex Meetings is that when there are updates, it sometimes stops working correctly. After an update a client called into a meeting that was previously scheduled and so did I, but neither of us had any indication that the other was there. Pros My previous companies did many "town halls" in other locations along with large-scale conference call presentations. WebEx Meeting Center allowed us to attend the meetings easily despite being in another state, or even country. The software allowed the benefit of interactity even though we were not there at the actual meeting. Cons There are limitations on the number of total participants, so it was not uncommon that some people had to locate a meeting room that was available last minute to be able to attend. The call in process to attend the meeting was not user friendly. A lot of that is owed to the I appreciate the simplicity and ease of use for the basic meeting features, including scheduling meetings, connecting audio/video, screen sharing, passing presenter rights, chat box, etc. Cons WebEx is somewhat limited in terms of what attendees can do compared with other platforms, such as Adobe Connect - including the ability to signal "raising hand", stepping away, marking yes/no to general questions. Having used zoom and other conference type systems I think webex is the best of the bunch. The sound quality is great, ability to transition from party to party for presenting is easy and overall in my experience webex is easy to use and learn for new users. Would recommend to any business. Pros We utilize cisco webex for provider meetings on a weekly basis. Since we have a large coverage area in the state webex makes it convenient to get all of our providers on a call to discuss initiatives without the need to have all in the same location. It easily integrates with outlook so you have the ability to schedule webex directly through outlook event. Cons There are times when the meeting owner is absent (vacation, sick, etc) and doesn't pass on the information for moderator to another party then there has to be a new webex created for recurring events. If there is a way around this that would be dandy but at this time we have not figured out an alternative that is not just creating a new web ex for that one time use. This is biggest limitation we have experienced. We use it for group meetings in the company and the different branches, to download information to staff, staff training, share opinions in work teams. Particularly I use it to explain my designs to the departments of the company, as to the groups that are in the branches of the company to present an idea, clarify a concept in the creation of a product, and to ask and answer questions to the groups and participants Cons It is a very complete application, but I do not like that it does not transmit the sounds of the web pages, nor does it guide me to other pages with web content and sometimes the sound quality is not always the best. You can have multiple participants and there are a lot of great features like sharing your screen, recording, and chatting with other participants. It can be hard to learn how to use but it is a good tool once you get the hang of it. Pros I like Cisco Webex because it is a good tool for conducting meetings with colleagues who cannot be present in person. I like that you can share your screen and other participants can also share their screen. There are multiple display and audio options. Cons Cisco Webex can be tricky to learn how to use. Pros One of my previous companies used the whole set up to have conferences between all of our offices. We had the huge screens and cameras in each office. The quality was always great, you could hear everyone talking in any conference room, and the cameras would find and zoom in on the individual talking so you always had the personal interaction aspect and were not just looking at everyone in the large room. Cons There were a few times where we would have to get IT to come into the office and adjust or reset to get the system working. March 7, 2018 4.0 Pros WebEx is a reliable tool which we use to collaborate and to move projects forward faster, it helps us to work as a team from in real-time sharing of applications, files etc. A feature that we find helpful for WebEx meeting is that it offers integrated audio, video, and file sharing. What impresses me even more with WebEx now is that with its last update it now allow users to call through the computer in itself, as opposed to having to dial in with a phone or landline, very good upgrade. And I like that it has an app for your android phone you can setup and use Cons The file transfer can be a little slow at times, be patient. Ensure that you proxy is allowed to have users access WebEx, may require that a port is open to access WebEx voice chat as some VPNs and proxies may deny access without proper setup. Try to use chrome it works better with chrome in my opinion.
