PM Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Once an industry standard, now lagging behind competition" March 15, 2021 4.0 It's absolutely usable and is great for bigger events, but for everyday quick calls between several people it's not as fast and easy to learn as other solutions on the market. Pros It was almost revolutionary at the time when it had its glory, just a quick browser plugin install and you're ready to go. Extremely scalable - designed to carry big corporations loads, hundreds and thousands of parallel connections. Cons The UI is very outdated and a bit cumbersome. Still requires to download a plugin when most other tools don't require that anymore and just work in the browser. Screen sharing, chat, etc - all possible, but the learning curve is worse than that for Zoom, for example. Review Source Rosangela R. Pros With this software, I was able to work remotely with my teammates, having weekly meetings that helped us plan our next steps (in the department) so we could meet the company's goals and objectives. What I like the most is that you could join a meeting via phone or computer. Cons No option to pay in local currency. I knew this software because I worked for a multinational company in Venezuela otherwise, I would have not, since most small businesses can't afford to have services paid in USD. Webex offers a good product that is reliable; its just a little more cumbersome that its competitors. I usually let the customer dictate what I use so that the customer is comfortable. Pros Webex is relatively easy to use and relatively cost effective for my company. I used the phone option instead of online audio quit a bit and this was easy for us and our customers. Cons Webex is not my first choice when it comes to video conferencing because it seems to be more complicated to set up meetings. Repeatedly our customers had issues connecting and had to download the webex app to their computer in order to connect. The software definitely serves its purpose & is user friendly (once you get used to it). Audio is always kind of tricky, whether you have to dial in or use your computer speakers, but they recently added a new feature where you can just have Webex call you directly. That way, you don't have to enter a bunch of different numbers in order to join the correct meeting. I really like this new feature. If you ever disconnect from the audio (while using your telephone), Webex can sense this and the pop up will automatically appear asking you if you'd like them to call you back. This was very useful during my last 8-hour training session, where I had to disconnect and reconnect to the audio multiple times throughout the day! Pros I like the many features that WebEx offers. I mostly use the software for webinars, & I like that you can do so many things during the meeting, including annotate, record the meeting, chat, etc. Cons It's not the easiest software to get used to. Also, I always have to worry about compatibility with my computer operating system/audio set up. Pros This has lot of Artificial Intelligence Features where it addresses the Participants by name when you enter in to a meeting and you can also give voice commands to Cisco Webex Meetings where it recognizes the voice and performs the functions. The Screen can be shared to Multiple people in the Team and it easy to Communicate with People who are in a different Location but still working on the same project. Pros One of the advantages of this tool is that it has features that are functional when having a conference. as for example the power to share the desks with the particioantes, to make administrator to others so that they can present, among other characteristics. Cons The disadvantages that I observed from this tool is that when you have the conference the audio and video is not very fluid. A comparison of other tools that I have used with the same bandwidth. We constantly have to have meetings with them while they are on the road. I have discovered that Cisco Webex Meetings handle all of our business needs greatly as we don't experience any lags, dropped connections, choppy communications etc. Pros I like the ease of usage from this software as Cisco is a solid name in the communications business as such, their products reflect that great name. Although I am finding fewer and few of my customer have this installed when I send them a WebEx meeting. I like the mobile app, I find it works very well. Pros The sharing of files, desktop, and presentation while on a conference is by far the smoothest of the solutions I have used. It beats Zoom and Teams in this regard. Cons It has calendar integration, but you have to give it permission. The WebEx app seeks to turn on your microphone to seek other devices as soon as you start up the software (even before a session is started) and it isn't integrated in SharePoint or other cloud storage natively. May 29, 2019 4.0 Webex is really useful application to communicate people from other companies and countries,although there are several apps for this issue i recommend webex due to its high voice,video and desktop sharing&control quality level. Also it is easier to access Meetings only with email to access not only my company also people from another companies too.I really appreciate the quality of desktop sharing and voice. Cons Although i am happy with the total experience with Webex sometimes i feel like there should be more customization options.It can be helpful to differentiate meetings between each other. Not only has scheduling meetings saved me time, joining meetings is a breeze. I hated dialing into a call early only to mis-dial the number. Now I can have the meeting call me directly or join via computer headset. Pros The integrated app that tells me all the meetings I have on deck for the day. The simplicity of creating meetings and hosting screen shares in and outside of the company gives me time to get more done. Cons Nothing, it really does everything I need it to do. Pros I liked being able to have meetings with professors online during COVID and still e able to talk face to face. Having classes proved a little challenging as my laptop audio never worked for Webex, but the phone app worked fine. Breakout groups were a nice feature and screen sharing made note-taking more efficient. Cons My audio would cut out a lot and this made it hard to present ideas and projects with the class. Pros Cisco Webex allowed us to collaborate with multiple locations and with multiple companies that may have different security protocols (example, our consulting firm in India or with government regulatory agencies). We liked the ability to be able to talk in real time while also someone sharing screen or presenting PowerPoint to clearly get the message across to all meeting participants. Cons Even with our company's fast in-house internet connection, there were times when connection issues by one or more participants caused delays to the entire group... Most were minor delays but some caused us to re-schedule the meeting and try again later. I can’t complain. Pros Works locally or in browser. Can easily use my phone for audio and will even remember my number and call me to connect when the meeting starts (just in case I navigate away waiting for the meeting to start.) Cons I cannot speak to cons really. My company moved away from this by using the included option in a productivity suite. But I have a vendor that primarily uses this and another that uses it because I can’t use their primary software.
