So far so good. Pros Ease of use and clear integration within the organization with good features to use. Easily manage your meetings and add extensions within email. Cons Nothing major as all the features are of good use without any issues. Sometimes cisco webex does not get updated if the meeting is cancelled. It still shows the meeting. We used it for about four years and performed decent, for what was needed but nothing over the top in technology. Pros I like that Cisco Webex is linked to Jabber that will display "presenting" if you are connected as the host. I also like that you can select other "HOST" just in case you're having computer problems and/or running late. Cons I don't like that the Host cannot fully control the Mute options. If a caller called in while muted and is talking, the host does not have the ability to mute them. I also don't like that it doesn't display who is talking when conferenced in through phone. WebEx is fine, but it's inferior to the 2 other services I've used (Zoom, Microsoft Teams). It's very rigid and not easy to manipulate if need be for someone else to become the leader of the call. There's a ton of feedback and there's always a slight delay. Pros Get's the job done. I don't have a ton of other positives. Cons Can't mute other people unless you are the meeting organizer, tends to be a bit glitchy, large groups cause it issues (in my experience), and adding it to your outlook invites is very involved Review Source GMS Greg M. The integration of their Spark platform into a full collaboration suite has been fantastic. The ease of use from both the meeting host and attendee is great and given that it is the go-to​ platform, everyone seems to be able to work with it without much issue. The mobile applications are great and user interface is improving. Cons There is much not to like. The AWS Chime pricing model is interesting and I would like to see WebEx with something more like that, but overall this is a solid platform. Review Source Matthew K. April 26, 2020 4.0 Cisco Webex is a great way to host professional meetings for internal users and also people we collaborate with abroad. The setup is really easy and the user interface is beyond friendly. We really have had no trouble with using the software and will continue to use it in the future. Pros The software itself is incredibly easy to use and very versatile, it is compatible with a lot of devices including mac and your phone. You also have the ability to record meeting sessions, which is a great advantage, as this allows you to review the meeting whenever you need to. Cons The price is a bit pricy compared to other competitors, and more flexible plans would be great! I have also encountered some technical issues, however, they were quickly rectified via the customer support team! Before, I used other video chat platforms like Hangouts and Zoom. Those platforms are fine, but Webex for me is a significant experience. I personally have no problems setting up and using Webex from the getgo. Pros The screen share feature is seamless and helps to make my classes and meetings go smoothly. Cons It's not well known among customers, most of who turn to Zoom. Writer Media Production Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Webex with groups for the win" January 2, 2019 4.0 The webex platform allowed my remote students, spread in multiple countries and time zones, to meet for class at scheduled times. We saw each others' faces, heard our voices, and could even "text" behind the scenes if necessary. Such a win for online education. Few technical glitches and a steady performance made this platform a reliable resource for our school. Pros I loved having the ability to see and hear from people all over the world who could come together in one scheduled meeting. Video quality was good, sound quality was good, and the ease of communicating time/date (one simple link!) made this platform an outstanding choice. I also appreciated being able to schedule multiple meetings very simply. Cons I would like to have been able to see more thumbnail pics of meeting attendees. Screen size is part of the problem, but a different interface could improve that aspect to make room for more of them. Also, sound quality occasionally glitched (every semester). Not sure how the effects of weak wifi can be fixed by the web software, but if there's a way to improve sound connection that would have made my experience even better. In the past 3 years, I've seen it upstaged by Teams and Zoom for smaller to mid sized meetings. For larger events, we typically rely on on24. Webex seems to have gotten less attention and upgrades. They will need to innovate quickly to stay relevant. Pros Webex has great brand recognition and adoption. People still know the brand and in general, the program just works. It's fairly easy for attendees and can scale fairly easily with larger groups. Cons The price point has continued to go up and the features have stagnated. Setting up an event is difficult - especially depending on what kinds of users are on your plan. I'm finding more users becoming confused with how to operate the platform. Review Source Brittany W. Cons if your not technologically savvy you will need to send a few requests before doing a live demo. understanding the features depends on your comfortability with technology, its not just click and go. In mobile app, or in Ford vehicles you can see the presenter's screen Pros The one-click add in tool works well and makes the meeting organization easier. Ability of screen control to the presenter's screen is also great. Whiteboard usage is handy and let you to take some notes during the meeting. Cons Institutional sign-in process takes some time. You are trying to be verified by multiple times and clicking to 'yes' gets boring. Sometimes, if presenter not in the meeting you can't dial in. This makes helping an attendee very easy. Pros Cisco WebEx is extremely easy to use with its intuitive user interface and user-friendly controls. The UI features a total of three different views, all of which are aimed to help enhance the user experience. Cons The most difficult part of this software is the recording feature. Cisco WebEx is absolutely terrible in recording web meetings and exporting the recordings for mass consumption. This is a huge limitation with meeting software. Review Source Alex V. I oscillate between using this and other programs to host meetings where I need people to see my screen. Pros The main thing about Webex Meetings is that the parent company has some fairly good support for the product within your IT environment. It's plug and play for the most part, but so are the other competitors out there. What sets it apart is what happens IF something goes wrong, and how easy it is to get an answer on it,... which in this case, is pretty easy. Pros The tools is simple and always works. The product has continually improved over the years to keep it as the top webinar and online meeting tool. It has all features that you need with an intuitive user interface. And it works. Cons I like the lagginess of the product at times. And this offers security for me and clients. Pros Setting up scheduled meetings or just planning a meeting is simple enough with this software. I like the ability to add attendees later to already scheduled meetings. I appreciate having access via an app. Cisco is user friendly and doesn't force you to download. You can invite others via audio or a web browse, so they are not forced to download the software. The options to lock the meeting, share the screen and control all aspects of the meeting are easy enough to manage. Cons \* I wish the self view video was bigger or that there was an option to make it bigger. It's odd having this small little screen that you cannot see yourself. \* It could be me, but I am not able to schedule meetings from the app on my phone. That is inconvenient. I interact with another employees from another company that uses Webex Meetings, and joining the meetings have been fairly straightforward despite not having the app (i.e., I use Webex Meetings on my browser). Cons 1\. Slightly annoying that the floating window that lists participants in the meeting can be shrunk down in size, but cannot be hidden, so it is blocking a part of the presentation. 2. Can be complicated to use compared to other web meeting applications. Too many options available for user customization can be overwhelming for first time user (e.g., you can choose to show list of participants on the right side of screen, above, or in a floating window, shrunk down in size or expanded). Pros The transfer of documents and control over them is very simple to use from a central panel. Another aspect to highlight is the remote access from remote servers which provides more security so that the connection is not interrupted Cons Communication breaks occur from time to time, mainly due to the internet connection. It allows for meetings from employees across Canada and saves a tonne on travel costs. It has some great features allow for interactive meetings. Pros I work for a National Organization where "in-person" meetings and learning is not always possible. Webex is great for online meetings and sharing of information across the country. It is very user friendly and allows for interaction (questions, voting etc). It saves us a lot of money on travel :). Cons Although this is great for meetings, it does not provide security for some of the information we share. Therefore, we need to be mindful of privacy.
