It was easy to set up and enter the call with a link sent to me! Pros I liked that it was easy to chat with others in real time. it was set up so that the main speaker could do breakout groups and we were in smaller groups too. Cons It is difficult to understand at first and takes some time to find all of the features. I did notice that the more people are in a call the worse the connection is. This can be difficult, but overall it is a good tool for teaching students. Pros I like that I am able to meet with my students daily for class using WebEx. There are many features like screen sharing that helps me teach them daily. Cons I do not like that teachers do not have as much control of features for students when using WebEx. There are times students do not mute and it is difficult to get them to mute even when they are requested to mute. August 24, 2018 3.0 Webex allows me to collaborate with my teammates remotely. However, there are several small annoyances that prevent me from loving the software. Pros Webex allows me and my coworkers to meet remotely and share information. This is especially helpful when working with team members in other countries. Webex integration into third part applications such as Microsoft Office, makes it easy to quickly share a document with someone. Cons Webex can be very buggy. Often times users will not be able to get into the meeting without starting a new instance. Also, it can be slow as compared to other virtual meeting rooms such as google hangouts. Minor annoyances are present, such as not being able to cancel a meeting that you did not set up. If a person leaves a company, you can have several meeting notices left over that no one can cancel. Cons I suffered the occasional connectivity issues and audio/video lag during meetings, especially when multiple users joins from different locations. I haven't had many problems with video or sound quality (which in an online screenshare or meeting, you don't want to have these problems). Cons The few times I've used it for a larger group, it tends to slow down but luckily most of my meetings are with two or three other individuals. Also sometimes the file sharing doesn't work as intended but other that this, I still think WebEx is a great app for our business. Pros I like that my desk phone is connected to my computer. Having this feature on my laptop helps me to virtually carry my desk phone with me. I love that my jabber is connected to my calendar activities and will display if I'm on a call, presenting, in a meeting or available. The availability feature helps my colleagues to have a hold on me by just a click away. Cons I would like to have more options to add people to a conversation rather than creating a new chat group to add more people. I used it for a long time, but only until I discovered there were better alternatives. I think the only reason they're still around is because the product is under the Cisco umbrella. I don't believe the product is viable enough to stand on its own. Pros I like that the application is all in one window. Whether using the whiteboard, viewing a document, or sharing screens, it all happens in the main window. Cons After Webex was acquired by Cisco, development really seemed to slow down. The process of joining the meeting audio is confusing, and it seems to require a very strong internet connection to work well. The coolest feature is passing keyboard and mouse control. If you make someone presented, you can request to take control of their keyboard and mouse! Also if you are presenting, you can give others control. It works wonders for troubleshooting, training, etc... especially if you're not in IT. Cons Limited options in the chat tools. Only hand raise exists really. If they incorporated additional options, maybe some that you see in WebEx Training Center, it would make audience participation better Review Source Lainie S. Cons WIsh they would have had the AI captioning integration sooner - this type of functionality is a real must in Government environment but glad it's coming soon. August 29, 2018 5.0 Pros I have been using this product for about 10 years. I had changed it's face a lot since then. Each time how ever, Cisco had made vast improvements. We use the Web Conference function the must and have been able to bring together a workforce that spans the world. We talked with clients in India and have had no issue with performance. Cons The calendar function was one of my least favorite parts. But with the latest update they fixed the issue I was having. The only thing I can think of would be better layout and customization to the in-conference screen layout. It works, doesn't give us too many headaches anymore. Pros It was a market leader years ago, so many people know how to use it and IT teams know how to allow it to get through network. Cons There are a lot of other softwares that many people have (Such as Teams) that has so many new features. Zoom is also a big player, I'm not a huge fan of Zoon either.
