They are clearly passionate about web scraping and their support is eager to help. Having knowledgeable support on hand is a rare commodity these days, and it's made all the difference when I was testing out their services and learning more about scraping in general. Their documentation is also amazing and was something I was already referencing prior to using their services when I was first starting to learn about web scraping. Pros Biggest Pro was the fast support responses when I was testing their services and learning more about the scraping process. I wished to utilize their services with custom JS Functionality to tune the scraper to fit my needs. Throughout my troubleshooting I was in contact with their support who provided clarity on their services and how to optimally use them. The proxy/api itself is flexible and the large amount of documentation made it easy to follow along and combine it with pre-existing projects I had written. Cons While they have extensive documentation they desperately need a search bar to assist with users hunting for specific instructions/setup while learning how to use ZenRows. Thankfully, their support confirmed the search bar is on the way in a future update. For users familiar with coding they could also use a few example tutorials about how to write custom scrips to fully utilize their services when custom scripts are required to fully scrape a site. The functionality is there, but I wasn't able to find a specific use case in their documentation. Thankfully their support was responsive and guided me through how to set it up in their proxies. I had been trying for weeks to bypass different sites protection, but it was a never ending battle that was proving inefficient in the long run. They have been absolutely incredible to us and were very understanding of our situation. We had purchased a yearly contract and paid up front but realized it wasn't the best decision for our business a month later, they understood our situation as a startup and happily refunded the money and allowed us to get on a monthly plan. They take the time to listen to feedback and are committed to helping customers not just selling software. They even took to extra time to help us optimize our scraping requests when they did not have to do that. Cons They don't currently have full feature parity with some of the more established players like enterprise user management and analytics. However, the scraping works amazingly which is the core of the need for us. They also listen to feedback and have implemented some features we have asked for. I'm an experienced developer but wanted a simple solution that would abstract away some of the challenges around IP rotation etc. I looked into and tried a number of options (including e.g. Scrapfly) and found that ZenRows was by far the best and most reliable. The API responds fast and has a very high success rate vs other services I tried. Customer service has also been fantastic. Cons I ran into an issue at one stage where requests were either hanging/timing out or failing, but I raised it with their support and they resolved it almost instantly. Gave a lot of peace of mind. Recommend to startups and individual devs for side projects. Pros You can test the api and obtain the screen shot right at their web interface. The request or the code can then be pasted to your code base. Cons The api stop working for a few days but fixed in a week. We used ScrapingBee in the past, but its features were not evolving fast enough, and the success rate for some relevant websites was too low. Pros We're very happy with our decision to use ZenRows. Its API is easy to use, well-documented, and highly flexible. Whenever we encountered a challenge, its support was quick to assist, making our scraping tasks much smoother. It has a lot of functionality, but its high fees and complexity of configuration were a problem for us. In particular, it was not flexible in its configuration with respect to JS rendering, which often meant that data could not be retrieved. Zenrows eliminated all of these problems. I look forward to more feature updates in the future. Most importantly, the API has been reliable. Pros Our system depends on consistent access to online mainstream news articles, the publishers of which are increasingly using sophisticated processes to block automated access. Our development budget was constantly increasing to keep up with their changes. ZenRows solved that problem for us! Cons Honestly, the pricing model for a startup like us is a little expensive. It would be nice to roll over unused transactions month-to-month to save a bit of money. Ideally, they could offer a "start-up" level plan for half the cost. Data Engineer Computer Software Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "A beautiful tool for data extraction from websites" October 10, 2022 5.0 They provide more API calls for less money, along with antibot bypassing solutions - which I haven’t seen on another platform yet. So my experience was great. I still use it for data extraction tasks and will continue to use it. Pros I'm a freelance data engineer and I used ZenRows for a few months now. I scraped a variety of platforms that implement antibots, mostly NFT and cryptocurrency, and some job application websites. With their API, my ETL pipeline runs like butter. Along with a high success rate, I never had to worry about bot prevention systems since their API also takes care of that. They provide a request builder which you can use to interactively build your API request URL. You can construct the request URL by specifying CSS selectors, it even provides an auto-parser, which automatically grabs the data and returns it in a JSON schema. Cons I used the Developer package and the package provided 10 concurrent threads. I was able to build optimized ETL pipelines for my clients but I don’t know if it’s enough for other developers. November 3, 2023 4.0 Pros We have the need to gather data from a number of web sites and keeping track of all the "quirks" of each site and adapting as they change things was taking up a lot of time. ZenRows does all the "heavy lifting" for us, so we can focus on working with the data that is returned. Cons At times it seems like the system takes quite a bit of time to return data, but we understand that there are a number of factors that come into play here, some outside of the control of either us or ZenRows. Pros My fav feature is the automatic retries. I know it's a common thing, but the way ZenRows has implemented it makes it look like there is no blocking at all. The API works sensationally, too.
