The tech support in the beginning was necessary and helpful. Very easy to learn. I love this platform and strongly recommend it to other organizations! Pros Betterworld.org is an amazing platform that supports my charity's fundraising efforts. I can create events, sell tickets, track sales, and collect donor information for future events! I can create fundraising campaigns and online auctions/raffles. There are multiple uses for this site and it makes fundraising a breeze! Cons The only con is getting to the "Dashboard" from the home page. Sometimes the Dashboard icon isn't always visible even though I'm logged in. Completely minor problem! We have used the auction, donation campaign and giveaways functions. They have all been easy to set-up and for auctions, the outbid alert feature has had such a positive effect on the final monetary outcome. The public page for the auction (what the public sees) looks very professional and upscale. The customer service is top-notch and the response time is super quick. I have recommended BetterWorld to several of our sister rescues. Pros The customer service is excellent--whenever I had a question I could get a prompt reply. I like that it's free for us to use. As a 100% volunteer non-profit we have to really watch our finances. The ease of use. We've used several of the fundraiser/donation applications and they were easy to set up and run. Cons Some technical set-up issues could be easier, like being able to add several photos at once in the auction and wish there was a way to send personalized emails from us to the bidders. Also, there is no way to add on mailing costs to the final bill without sending out a separate invoices to the winning bidders. This took too much time and delay so we just eat the shipping costs. It really helped during the pandemic. We simply cannot afford auction platforms that charge a sizable flat fee. It's not effective for us. Pros The price. We are a small nonprofit a platform with a large fee would eat up the proceeds. Cons It's challenging to get the photos to look good with the restraints. As I said it’s pretty easy to navigate and withdrawal funds. Pros I love that it is pretty simple to set up and get started. I love how easy it is to collect payments. I love that it is free for my nonprofit to use and I can navigate it pretty well! Cons Some features I have trouble with such as accidentally duplicating an event and then I’m stuck with it. It's a great product and because it's free, the money we raise goes back into the organization. March 3, 2022 5.0 I only used BetterWorld for that one auction experience, but the experience was so positive, I would definitely use them again. The idea of helping fundraisers have the tools we need at an affordable price-point is really nice, especially for orgs as small as ours. Pros We didn't find anything we didn't like about the auction platform. It was so user-friendly that even I (not the most tech-savvy) could manage it with little assistance. And it looked great! It was great to be able to upload and arrange images, divide auction items by type, and receive clear info about bidding. When the auction ended, there was no chasing people down to get payment because all bidders had entered their card info and the charge was processed immediately. Cons We had a small issue that I assumed was my fault. I contacted BetterWorld and they determined it was something in their system they had not yet identified, and they actually thanked me for pointing it out so they could fix it. They were very responsive. Reason for choosing BetterWorld We had used MobileCause and had an overall positive experience, but when we found BetterWorld and could use the auction platform for free, it was a no-brainer. MobileCause was pricey, and for me not nearly as user friendly. Review Source DR Donna R. Overall, I've been extremely impressed with BetterWorld. It has helped our non-profit soup kitchen raise funds free of charge! The product is super easy to use, and they have a stellar support team. Pros I searched high and low for a affordable software package to conduct online auctions and raffles. BetterWorld is free! They make their money through contributions; transactional fees that are voluntary for the end-user. Their mantra is "Organizations should be able to raise funds for free and keep 100% of what they raise." This is true, as many of our donors cover the payment processor fee! I used BetterWorld as our primary fundraiser during Covid, when we quickly changed our fundraising model to online only. It was incredibly easy to set up, and I could easily track and download incoming donations. I think it's a great product, and a great price for non-profits. As an added bonus, their support is VERY responsive! Cons If your donor isn't aware, they'll be charged the fees to support BetterWorld. You have to uncheck the box before checkout. We had one user who placed several auction bids and was charged multiple fees even before winning. They complained to me and BW, and were quickly refunded their money. When I set up a donation campaign this year, the "contribution to BW" amount defaulted to $20 (for a $250 donation). I opted not to run the campaign because I thought the $20 fee was high and could be problematic. Ideally it would be nice to have a fundraiser that encompasses auction items ad raffle items instead of having separate setups for each. We also like how user friendly and how much education there is for us to learn how to use the system. Very happy with our experience. Cons The lack of notifications when people buy tickets for ticketed events or donations. Would like to be notified right away. If I had an issue during the day, or weekend, they were always willing to jump on to help! Pros I was navigating the fundraising and gala event planning for the first time, and Better World made it easy to create an event, track ticket sales, monitor donations and coordinate auction items. Cons I had a few issues navigating between making donations versus creating a sponsorship through the table purchase/ticketing process. So, I had a few struggles which resulted in a few mistakes. Congrats on having such a useful and beautiful platform for non-profits to use. Money is always an issue, and having low costs to raise $$ is idea. Bravo. Pros It's a breeze to set up, ticketing and check-in went very smoothly. I have used the silent auction features with another organization and those work very well. Cons Live Auction was a little bit complicated, we wanted to be able to connect our ticketed event to a Live Auction number at check-in, but that didn't work. We love this platform, so we found a workaround using the QR code on every table -- but might be a nice feature to consider: adding a PaddleRaise number at check-in, exporting the guest list data into a PaddleRaise campaign and maintaining the number assigned at check-in. Then, when a live raise happens, helpers could add amounts to each bidder and send them a notification to their phones to check-out. The peer-to-peer campaign software was an amazing way to ask for and receive donations. The concierge service was well worth the investment. With Better World support we raised 2.5x the money we raised last year for our Rock Steady Boxing Program for People with Parkinson's! Pros The tools available for non-profits at no charge are amazing. The concierge service to set up a campaign was a charge but well worth the investment for our first big fundraiser - now we are equipped for future success as well as our recent amazing results!
