The tech support in the beginning was necessary and helpful. Very easy to learn. I love this platform and strongly recommend it to other organizations! Pros Betterworld.org is an amazing platform that supports my charity's fundraising efforts. I can create events, sell tickets, track sales, and collect donor information for future events! I can create fundraising campaigns and online auctions/raffles. There are multiple uses for this site and it makes fundraising a breeze! Cons The only con is getting to the "Dashboard" from the home page. Sometimes the Dashboard icon isn't always visible even though I'm logged in. Completely minor problem! Always very fast and responsive. I dont appreciate how they raised their membership prices in one year to nearly double the amount. Pros Its easy to set up and navigate. And the Support is great. Cons I wish there was a way of taking all number of chances and creating a random numbered list to print out. We have used the auction, donation campaign and giveaways functions. They have all been easy to set-up and for auctions, the outbid alert feature has had such a positive effect on the final monetary outcome. The public page for the auction (what the public sees) looks very professional and upscale. The customer service is top-notch and the response time is super quick. I have recommended BetterWorld to several of our sister rescues. Pros The customer service is excellent--whenever I had a question I could get a prompt reply. I like that it's free for us to use. As a 100% volunteer non-profit we have to really watch our finances. The ease of use. We've used several of the fundraiser/donation applications and they were easy to set up and run. Cons Some technical set-up issues could be easier, like being able to add several photos at once in the auction and wish there was a way to send personalized emails from us to the bidders. Also, there is no way to add on mailing costs to the final bill without sending out a separate invoices to the winning bidders. This took too much time and delay so we just eat the shipping costs. Congrats on having such a useful and beautiful platform for non-profits to use. Money is always an issue, and having low costs to raise $$ is idea. Bravo. Pros It's a breeze to set up, ticketing and check-in went very smoothly. I have used the silent auction features with another organization and those work very well. Cons Live Auction was a little bit complicated, we wanted to be able to connect our ticketed event to a Live Auction number at check-in, but that didn't work. We love this platform, so we found a workaround using the QR code on every table -- but might be a nice feature to consider: adding a PaddleRaise number at check-in, exporting the guest list data into a PaddleRaise campaign and maintaining the number assigned at check-in. Then, when a live raise happens, helpers could add amounts to each bidder and send them a notification to their phones to check-out. January 14, 2025 4.0 Overall BW has enabled us to make a little extra money with fundraisers during the year. We would otherwise have to use the old-fashioned clipboards at live events only. It really helped during the pandemic. We simply cannot afford auction platforms that charge a sizable flat fee. It's not effective for us. Pros The price. We are a small nonprofit a platform with a large fee would eat up the proceeds. Cons It's challenging to get the photos to look good with the restraints. The live intro/training sessions confirmed for me the values held by the developers. For us, we wanted to donate as much as possible for the non profit we were fund raising for, and previous used auction site continued to raise their fees on us substantially without much support. The Better World developers are open to honest feedback to continuously improve their site for users. Pros Our social non profit dance krewe throws a large annual fundraiser with a silent auction. We used Better World for our 2022 event. Easy to set up, easy for volunteers to input data, great fee structure, very helpful support from the developers, and fairly successful for bidders to use. We had a few small "glitches" but managed to raise more than in 2020! Cons (3) Things that we would love to see added to the Silent Auction is a Key Word Search in the auction items, and a Live Highest Bidder Screen that can be projected at an event, and an APP for easier bidding. We started our auction online then at the event we had volunteers at the auction tables with a tablet to track highest bidders as sometimes after a few cocktails bidders are not working out their technology as quickly. Reason for choosing BetterWorld We chose Better World because it met our criteria list, the fee structure was very fair, and the introduction with the development team made me feel comfortable and confident that we would be able to set up everything ourselves with little help required. Since we are raising money to allow members to participate in mission trips, every dollar counted. We have done a basket auction for years, but our space for putting out actual baskets is limited and to raise more money we put together more baskets but had no where to showcase them. Betterworld allowed us to put some baskets up for bidding online and this broadened our audience. We could now reach people that couldn’t physically get to our church to make a bid. We have been very happy with this platform and plan to continue to use it each year for this fundraiser. Pros It was free for my small non-profit organization which makes it a viable option to help with fundraising for mission trips. It was fairly easy to figure out how to use. Cons The lack of notifications when people buy tickets for ticketed events or donations. Would like to be notified right away. March 3, 2022 5.0 I have been working with BetterWorld for two years and it has been great for the needs of our small, Catholic school's fundraising. The customer service is phenomenal! I usually received a reply within an hour (during the day) or the following day (if sent in the evening). The correspondences were always very helpful and pleasant! Pros The ease in building the online auction is great! The ability of copying the auction framework from one year to the next saves a lot of time after the first year. Cons Is it possible to set up email alerts when there is a bid, donation or other donor activity? i haven't been able to find that option. As I said it’s pretty easy to navigate and withdrawal funds. Pros I love that it is pretty simple to set up and get started. I love how easy it is to collect payments. I love that it is free for my nonprofit to use and I can navigate it pretty well! Cons Some features I have trouble with such as accidentally duplicating an event and then I’m stuck with it. The peer-to-peer campaign software was an amazing way to ask for and receive donations. The concierge service was well worth the investment. With Better World support we raised 2.5x the money we raised last year for our Rock Steady Boxing Program for People with Parkinson's! Pros The tools available for non-profits at no charge are amazing. The concierge service to set up a campaign was a charge but well worth the investment for our first big fundraiser - now we are equipped for future success as well as our recent amazing results!
