"Extremely Disappointing Experience with Kenko"

**Overall:** I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Kenko was by far one of the worst I’ve had with any software company. Despite the sleek marketing, their platform is nowhere near as evolved or intuitive as they claim. The software is currently undergoing what seems to be a complete reconstruction — features are being redesigned, removed, or half-functional. Many tools feel redundant and poorly integrated, and essential settings are buried under multiple layers of menus, forcing you to dig endlessly just to make simple changes. Their onboarding process is a nightmare — drawn out, confusing, and seemingly designed to waste your time. It took weeks to even get close to a usable setup, and by that point, it felt more suspicious than professional. What truly pushed me over the edge was their billing practice. I signed up for what they advertised as a free account, but I was unexpectedly charged without authorization. I never approved a payment, never submitted an invoice, and yet I was billed anyway. When I reached out within a week — well within any reasonable 30-day refund window — they flat-out denied my refund. Since then, their support team has ignored my messages and calls, showing zero accountability or concern for customer satisfaction. Overall, Kenko is not ready for prime time. Between the clunky software, misleading practices, and nonexistent customer support, I would strongly advise anyone to stay away until they get their act together.

**Pros:** At first glance, the interface looked clean and promising, and some of the concepts behind the features seemed useful in theory. Unfortunately, that initial impression didn’t hold up once I started using it — the tools weren’t as functional or streamlined as they appeared.

**Cons:** The software feels unfinished and far less advanced than advertised. Many features are redundant, poorly organized, and hidden behind multiple menus. The onboarding process was overly long and unproductive, and I was unexpectedly charged despite signing up for what was supposed to be a free account. The lack of response from their support team made the whole experience extremely frustrating.

"Horrible experience -> on paper they have all the features, the execution is BUGGY at every step and is losing us money and time"

**Overall:** Worst thing ever. On paper, they have all the features. Sales was great, onboarding was nice, people we interact with are nice, our success manager is nice. Product management and development -> as a previous product manager, never had a product experience so bad. Wasting so much time almost daily having to raise bugs, trying to stay on top of all these bugs. And the worst part is that these aren't little bugs that don't impact anyone -> these are bugs that are impacting potentially hundreds of monthly payments, that lead to us STRESSING a lot and potentially losing financially due to their buggy app. If you don't see this review edited soon, it means I have moved over to a different provider -> I'd rather go through the hassle of migrating again than go through bad product crises every 1-2 weeks (and it's been like that for a few months now, since we switched over).

**Pros:** Sales was a great experience. On paper, they have great features, similar to momence and other competitors, at a considerably better price. Really love the feature of having the website done through Kenko, and having the schedule integrated through the website (and of course our branded mobile app).

**Cons:** Bugs everywhere -> let me tell you about some of the bugs we faced, and especially how they cost us a lot of money and time. I have never experienced such a bad product experience. I will completely ignore the small bugs, but letting you know what we faced in a only a few months that led to money and time wasted. 1. Recurring payments not being completed not working. We noticed after a period that some customers were having their memberships renewed, without any payment even being attempted. Literally they allowed us to not have any visibility of any missed payment, and they allowed our customers to keep coming to class without their automatic payment being completed. We spent weeks working this out with them, use cases, examining different bugs as part of this, thought it's fixed, whoops -> appears again. Nobody tells us, we somehow notice we're missing payments! 2. Discount codes created to only work for the first month of a recurring membership -> the discount is applied not only in the first month, but then again applied in the second month! We raise this as a bug, they say they are working on it. One month later, discount is applied AGAIN. Absolutely horrible, applying discounts to out clients when there should be no discount, month after month, with a useless team. 3. We noticed people with expired memberships were still allowed to book classes AFTER their expiry date. Literally allowing people to come for free, leading to us losing money. 4. Their teacher pay feature is full of bugs -> if you use it, great chance you'll be losing money Not to mention some key features were designed by people with no knowledge of how studios work. The key product in any studio is a recurring membership. Imagine this is a monthly recurring. Their membership is designed so that it doesn't allow our customers to book classes in the future, if it's in the next iteration of their membership! So imagine my membership is renewing tomorrow -> literally doesn't allow our loyal customers to book classes in a few days, and you have to wait for the renewal to first happen. What?!

**Alternatives Considered:** [Momence](https://www.capterra.com/p/229516/Ribbon/)

**Reasons for Choosing Kenko:** Chose Kenko over momence due to price and due to the fact they had an integrated website builder - wish I picked momence.

**Switched From:** [Momoyoga](https://www.capterra.com/p/155546/Momoyoga/)

**Reasons for Switching to Kenko:** Was looking for something with more features, especially the automated email journeys, as we were growing a lot.
